They Lost My Car and Other Adventures “What do you mean you can’t find my car?” I asked John Hatcher, the Audi service manager. It had been seven days and six phone calls since my car had “What do you mean you can’t find my car?” I asked John Hatcher, the Audi service manager. It had been seven days and six phone calls since my car had been towed to Audi Mission Viejo. It seems that roadside assistance dropped my car off at the Infinity service bay which is only about ten feet away from the Audi service bay. Rather than return any of my phone calls, my service advisor, Jorge, just let my car sit there for a week. Once John “found” my car (which had been there all along), he promised that he would fast track my repair and deliver excellent customer service going forward. I never heard from John, the service manager, again. By the way, John’s voicemail states that he will get back to you at HIS earliest convenience. I guess it hasn’t been convenient to follow up with me yet. Next up was Greg. Greg couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my car for many days. Five days to be exact. Once I finally called him after not hearing from him for 48 hours, I learned that all my car needed was two new fuel injectors. Sounds simple, right? That took another seven days. Yes, SEVEN. First, they needed to get approval from Audi, then, they needed to order the part (what is a parts department for if not to house parts?) The Audi Mission Viejo website says that the dealership is family owned and that the owners work at the store every day. The website goes on to say, “If you ever have any questions you will have direct access to them at any time.” I clicked on the chat button of the website to ask for the owner’s contact information. Amber, the webchat operator refused to give me the owner’s name or contact information. Even after I explained that I was a current customer and that my car was in their shop. Finally, my car was ready to pick up! Hooray! 20 days later! Audi gave me my Q7 back to me with the empty gas tank light on. Even though it had over a quarter tank when it was towed in. When I expressed my displeasure at the empty gas tank, the valet walked away from me while I was talking and said, “you’ll have to talk to your service manager about that.” So, I drove away with my empty gas tank – never to return again.
