I had noticed a slow drop in the coolant level of my 2017 A4 Quattro and called Lakeland Audi to set an appointment for a complimentary (free) service inspection of the entire vehicle. The dealer rep informe A4 Quattro and called Lakeland Audi to set an appointment for a complimentary (free) service inspection of the entire vehicle. The dealer rep informed me that the on-line coupon I downloaded from their web site did not apply and the diagnostic fee would be $195.00 plus shop fees. I get the complementary inspection ruse, a dealer will make back the inspection labor cost by selling repairs. So apparently I'm paying for the privilege of being told how many $1,000s of dollars I might want to spend. Coolant drop was due to a leak in the reservoir tank seam. Estimated repair cost - $1,200. The tank is easily accessed at the top of the engine beside the engine cover and pops out after removal of one screw. All lines pull off after release of the clips. My retail cost for an OEM tank from Audi dealer is $160 to $180. This repair including labor should cost less than $400. Service rep told me cost was so high because they would likely break all of the attached lines removing the tank so they would need to replace everything. Seriously? On a positive note, the video was helpful although it did not match what the service rep told me. The wash was very nice, better than I do at home. More
