Mr. Garner, Just so everyone understands what you are claiming and to the accuracy of the claim, I want to explain exactly what was done for the recall on your vehicle. When we performed the airbag recall we removed the entire glove compartment from the vehicle with the CD changer still installed in the glove compartment. We never actually removed the unit from its housing; we only unplugged the unit from behind the glove compartment and plugged it back in when the glove compartment was reinstalled after completing the recall. We have to date completed 137 of these exact recalls (not to mention a hundred or so other passenger side airbag recalls on various other models), and have had not a single case of anything ever being broken by one of our technicians. When you came back in three weeks after the recall was performed to state that the CD changer no longer worked, we had no way of verifying as to when the unit actually failed. It very well could have been sometime during the three week period between the recall and when you brought the vehicle back in, or possibly even before we performed the recall. When you did come in and we inspected the unit, we were able to determine that power was reaching the CD changer and that the lights were all coming on, but there was an internal fault in the changer and it would not read the CD’s. Again, not something that we could have caused as we never removed the CD changer from the housing it sits in, it would have been physically impossible for us to damage an internal component of the CD changer. I understand your frustration in having something in your vehicle fail, but unfortunately things do wear out and break, especially when talking about a twelve year old vehicle. And in this case the blame is inappropriately being directed at us as can be seen by your ending comments in your review. I can assure you that the vast majority of the employees who work here are very happy with their positions within the dealership, especially the management team, which is a very large reason why we have a 4.9 out of 5 rating on this site over the last two years and why we have been in the top eight percent in customer satisfaction among all United States Audi dealers over the last four years. Everyone here takes exception to your last statement of us being “crooks”. We have all worked very hard to make sure that our clients are happy and understand the value of the money they are spending on their vehicles. Clients who come in regularly instead of just once every three or four years all know this fact. Even in your case we can cite some examples, such as back in 2011 when your vehicle was out of warranty by both time and mileage and we worked to get a new seat cover goodwilled for you, I’m sure we were not seen as “crooks” then. When you came in three years later and had animal damage to some wiring on your vehicle that we repaired at a fair price and even discounted it for you I am sure we were not viewed as “crooks” then either. The fact of the matter is Mr. Garner that we have no reason to take advantage of anyone coming in for service work. It is of no benefit to us in the long run, and that is what we strive for, to have long lasting relationships with our clients. So in the interests of extending an olive branch, we will be happy to assist you to the best of our ability with the replacement of your CD changer should one still be available from Audi. We will need you to bring in the vehicle though so we can actually remove the unit to get the correct part number off of it and check the price and availability. Please let me know if you would like to do this. Sincerely, Andy Emberton Service Director Audi Hoffman Estates

Andy Thank you for responding to my review and for extending an olive brand to resolve the issue. I have set up an appointment to bring the car back in on Feb 21 for your service team to get the model number off the CD unit. See you then. Regards, Scott

Hi, I am sorry that your service visit(s) did not go as well as either of would have hoped. You are correct in stating that the very first thing we should have done is look to see if the TSB you provided had anything to do with your concern with the transmission. Again, I do apologize for not getting things handled in a manner befitting one of our clients. Sincerely, Andy Emberton Service Dorector Audi Hoffman Estates
