We've used Mattie's service dept. exclusively to maintain our 2018 Q5 thus far. Normally, we deal with Joe Chaves; this trip was Jason Costa because it was a Saturday appointment. When I entered the dealership I was greeted by a customer who asked me if I was going to be making a purchase with Ryan. She then showed me pictures of herself, her husband and her daughter with their VW’s t who asked me if I was going to be making a purchase with Ryan. She was proud and pleased with her purchases and that speaks volumes about a salesperson. We drove in with a trade in and drove out with an Atlas. Mar 23, Tuesday - Phone call with Sales Manager discussing purchase, down payment, and pickup the next day (Wednesday) and that I'm traveling from out of state. The moment before hanging up to bank transfer the $5000 deposit I'm told they do not have the title on hand but Sales Manager promised and assured me they would have it Thursday and it would be FedEx'd and in my hands in NY Friday. Mar 24 - Car picked up, balance paid in cashier check, was reassured I'd have the title Friday or at latest Monday. I'm told having only the Bill of Sale would be enough to register in NY. (Lie) Mar 25 - I email to clarify correct address to ship title as my license address does not match residence. I don't hear back from Sales Manager. I get a call from Sales Person as follow-up, I mention I'm still just waiting on the Title and express how pleasant the experience was working with them. I've also been saying as much in every email exchange. Mar 26 - Sales Manager says title will arrive at dealership that afternoon. Also confirms the address change for delivery. (Lie) Mar 28 - No word from dealership, I follow up about title asking for a scan of it so I can register car online. I've already gotten parking tickets for Registration and Inspection from traffic ticket cops and tell him so. I'm assured they are just waiting on dealership owner to get in who would have the title. They'd already have tracking if it was released.... (Lie) Mar 29 - I ask for an update, mention I can get $140/day in tickets for lack of Reg & Inspection. I ask if a Transferable Registration can be issued. No response. Mar 31 - I email outlining events and that I'm getting both frustrated and concerned as it's feeling very shady. I have not gotten any reason for why the title hasn't been released. I'm polite and thankful. I'm assured they're working on it but still have no update on when VW will release title. I mention that if tickets total over $365 my car can be impounded. That night at 10pm I'm told the title was already processed under my name but no update on shipping from VW to the dealership. Sales Manager says they have a call scheduled with VW Credit to resolve and "as mentioned, I'll find a way to make it right by you." (Lie) I thank them and reiterate my appreciation for the work. April 2 - Sales Manager: "Good news - title has been processed and released. Barring any time restraints because of the holiday, the title should be here Monday morning - I will next day it to you so you have it Tuesday! Sorry about all of this. I'm working on getting a check back to you for $420. I'll give you an update Monday when everything gets in." (Lie) I thank them and ask if it will arrive as a check in same FedEx. Ghosted April 8 - I ask for an update, no response April 9 - Sales Manager: "I thought this was handled already? My goodness - here's the UPS tracking number it went out Wednesday or Thursday." I mention tracking info confirmed they mailed it to the wrong address, my sister's house 2hrs away. April 12 - Title in hand, no check included. I follow up, offer bank transfer as an option. April 13 - Sales manager blames "office ladies" for delay Ghosted April 20 - Follow up, told it should have already been mailed. Sales Manager is now saying he's fighting to make good on what was already said to be approved and sent out. April 23 - Still no response or update. I say how shocked I am this is how the team decided to handle this, hinting that I'm fed up and about to post reviews. April 29 - No response. Reviews submitted. More
