I'm fairly certain I do not have enough room to leave how unbelievably terrible I believe this dealership has ended up being. Started out really good... ended terribly. Below is detailed synopsis of what o unbelievably terrible I believe this dealership has ended up being. Started out really good... ended terribly. Below is detailed synopsis of what occurred: *10.03 12:43 p.m. - Involved in car accident *10.04 1:55 p.m. - In ER awaiting CT / sent inquiry online re vehicle - Shondika responded - began correspondence seeking records and securing vehicle until I could physically get there as am out of state [she was helpful] *10.04 2:04 p.m. - Shondika fwds my request to internet sales team *10.04 2:29 p.m. - Mercedes auto response generated to my text *10.04 4:22 p.m. - She asks how she can be of assistance *10.04 5:29 p.m. - I reiterate my request for svc records and way to secure vehicle until I can physically get there to pick it up *10.04 6:14 p.m.- Mercedes sends svc records for viewing *10.05 8:46 a.m. - I reached out to Mercedes questioning possible odometer rollback showing on Carfax *10.05 1:03 p.m. - Mercedes responds to 8:46 a.m. aforementioned question *10.05 2:06 p.m. - I reach out to Mercedes again re how to secure vehicle and what recourse do I have in re to possible issues with vehicle if found after purchasing online w/o having oppty to have a mechanic look over/test drive/etc. - ending w/ question I began with when first reached out, how do I secure vehicle and finalize as I do not want it to be sold before I can physically get there to pick it up *10.05 2:08 p.m. - Mercedes responds - vehicles sold as is - asks if I will be paying cash or financing *10.05 2:09 p.m. - I respond to Mercedes stating I will be paying cash - ask her again re recourse as MN has lemon law, asking if IA has anything of that nature to help cover buyers, i.e, 500/1000 miles or 30 day, etc. - something? *10.05 2:13 p.m. - Mercedes assures me they do not sell lemons, salvage, etc. and that she will get me their 80 pt safety inspection report if I would like *10.05 2:15-2:21 p.m. - I state I would like to see that report, ask question about true color of vehicle (blue or black) and question if I could secure vehicle and finalize being contingent upon a 'test drive' *10.05 2:24-2:25 p.m. - Mercedes states that yes, I would have to be at the store to test drive (which was not my question) and that the color is blue - [question was finalizing purchase w/ the contingency of a test drive] *10.05 2:29 p.m. - I respond to Mercedes stating my initial question as I am concerned as I am still out of town [3 hours north of my home] where the accident I was involved in occurred as I was trying to finalize everything to what was being requested of Lithia before I got on the road - I didn't want to leave it open ended to lose out on the vehicle - [still roughly 7 hours north of dealership] *10.05 2:44 p.m. - Mercedes states that she is glad I am okay and asks that I give her one moment to check with her manager *10.05 - No further response from Mercedes remainder of day after her asking for a moment to check w/ her manager - have to spend adlt. night before traveling towards home as had been awaiting her response and am not able to drive safely in evening due to injury from accident *10.06 - No response received all morning *10.06 1:46 p.m. - I reach out to Mercedes again asking how I can secure or finalize vehicle so not sold to anyone- now even more urgent as they have since dropped the price on the internet since we first began discussion - even more concerned to secure and establish finalizing before sold as even more desirable of a vehicle than it initially was *10.06 1:46 p.m. - Anne Maynard from Sales Office(?) emails immediately (I did not see the email immediately as had been texting Mercedes) to establish best phone number to reach me at *10.06 2:15 p.m. - I contact Anne directly - she forwards me to Anando - Anando and I speak on telephone - Anando seemingly very helpful, courteous, concerned - offers me his cell phone number - Anando says that he will hold the vehicle until I can get there on Sat. (logistically the earliest I could get there) - says that if I am unable to get there Sat., that he would re-hold until Tues. (which was the only other day I could make work if Sat. did not) - Anando seemed super helpful - helped alleviate the anxiety and stress suffering from accident and having to attain a used vehicle in such a volatile market - appreciated, was grateful *10.06 2:32 p.m. - Anando sends me the final numbers via email so I can finalize to have correct amount for purchase *10.06 2:35 p.m. - Amar enters dealings through speaking w/ Anando - Amar leaves a voicemail stating he spoke w/ Anando and that "I will put the vehicle on hold for you until you arrive Saturday, to my understanding, he just sent you over numbers on the vehicle as well. If you want to give me a call back just to confirm everything and then figure out a time when you want to stop in on Saturday." and leaves his person cell phone number. *10.06 2:38 - Amar follows that voicemail w/ a text asking when I will be in on Saturday *10.06 2:35-3:30 p.m. - I am firming up funds w/ my credit unions - still awaiting the inspection report from Mercedes (or whomever) that I had asked about early on *10.06 3:23 p.m. - I reach out to Amar via text to ask about the inspection report and couple questions regarding pics they had sent - state to him I am finalizing funds w/ my credit union and am still traveling (indicating that I am not certain as to the time on Sat. yet as I have not returned home) *10.06 3:29 p.m. - everything ready on my end - awaiting further correspondence (nd inspection report) as to what is needed and how to finish finalizing w/ Lithia before I arrive Saturday as my credit union closing soon *10.06 3:36 p.m. - Amar sends pics to me to show areas I had inquired about re previous pics - states that will send inspection report in the morning *10.06 4:13 p.m. - Mercedes (? - thought was same number I had previously texted but seemed to jump back to her?) texts stating that they just want to confirm the day I will be there *10.06 4:33 p.m. - I text Mercedes(?) back stating that I am looking at Sat. if I can get previous commitments, drs appts, etc. figured out - if I can't make Sat. work, the earliest will be Tues. *10.06 - no further communication the remainder of evening *10.06 - again, another day goes by 'finalizing' everything necessary for the purchase - unable to return home as again into the dusk/eve. hours *10.07 9:06 a.m. - Mercedes texts asking if I will know today (Fri.) if tomorrow (Sat.) works *10.07 9:44 a.m. - Amar sends inspection report *10.07 9:59 a.m. - I text Mercedes stating that I received the inspection report, that I am now traveling on my way home and have to get back on the road - that I will get in touch as soon as I return home (early to mid-afternoon) when I will have finality as to the time I will arrive at the Iowa airport (as Anando had said in our conversation that someone from dealership could pick me up) *10.07 10:01 a.m. - Mercedes texts "Perfect... Just keep me posted." *10.07 2:57 p.m. - I arrive home after a follow up dr appt and am not doing well at all, but trying hardest to continue out for Saturday as that was the preferred day for them - am able to obtain flight to arrive in Iowa approximately 10:45 a.m. - I text Mercedes letting her know I will be there approximately 10:45 a.m. tomorrow morning *10.07 2:58 p.m. - Mercedes texts me back saying that unfortunately the vehicle has been SOLD (to another party) *10.07 3:12 & 3:49 p.m. - I text Mercedes my disillusionment stating that I had been under the impression that the vehicle was held, that I had finalized everything on my end and was awaiting them for anything further needed from me - I was under the impression that I had essentially purchased the vehicle, but was awaiting finalizing whatever else they needed from me - if anything - before I arrived Saturday *10.07 3:52 p.m. - Mercedes texts saying that she is really sorry, that a person came in with another sales person and worked with a different manager so her and Anando didn't know until it was too late 'cause they have been really busy and that she is so sorry. At this point in time, I lost track of days and lost it. I had been so sick w/ my head injury that I had to rest and step away briefly. I don't recall what days I reached out since that day as it was too much... at least at a time when I physically couldn't continue due to a TBI, nausea, stress, body pain, etc. -- when I was trying to recover from a car accident and had the stress of needing to obtain another vehicle as I have no other option. I attempted to get in touch w/ Anando immediately afterward - didn't reach or here from. I believe it was a couple days later that I reached out to his cell phone number on a number that I had not corresponded with him or others on, he answered at that time. Anando was apologetic. I was upset as I had been under the impression that I had 'purchased' it. He didn't know what he could do to alleviate. I had a suggestion that he found asinine and did not oblige. Went nowhere. I left 2-3 voicemails with GM - Brent - stating that I was a customer who had encountered circumstances at his dealership that I would like to discuss with him - It's been over a week - he has never returned the call I left a voicemail with George (Sales Manager) - stating the same several days ago - I have yet to receive a return call from him either I cannot state how awful an experience this has ended up being at a critical time when I needed to be resting. I have since missed out on other vehicles that were available at the time I had been corresponding with them and much needed time with a second week of a car rental that I cannot afford because there are no vehicles of a similar nature anywhere near my home. The only one that comes close is in Connecticut. It may not seem like a nightmare when reading, but trust me, with a head injury, several critical responsibilities which needed to be juggled due to caretaking of a mother who suffered a stroke and is paralyzed, having to be off work (due to said injury) in a department which is already short staffed and several other family responsibilities, including one of my children's birthdays, which were affected by my jumping for everyone there as fast as I could, doing everything in my power to acquiesce what they requested to be left with "I'm sorry." I'm having a difficult time finding that acceptable. The least they could do is search or a vehicle similar to the one that they sold out under me and offer to me at the same price. Lastly, to find out that they do deliver vehicles after reading reviews... that was never once offered as an option me, but would have alleviated EVERYTHING experienced. I am terribly disillusioned. They have left me with the sense of the stereotypical 'used car dealers' who are just out to make a buck. But, I guess I was under the impression that they weren't, that probably is the worst in that I trusted them. And to have the GM not even return a call -- when he doesn't even know the issue that I am contacting him about -- I find quite terrible. I'm quite torn on how to rate Anando. He seemed genuine and very helpful at a time when I greatly appreciated it... but I have no idea what to take of this whole scenario. I guess it wasn't something I had thought could happen. And with difficulties with processing currently, couldn't come up with to head off unfortunately. More
Very easy and nice buying a car. Did everything online and getting trade appraisal was a breeze.
