I have always had a good experience with Audi Central Houston. They performed all the service on my A6, and recently I purchased a S6 through the dealership. The dealership exceeded expectations on both Houston. They performed all the service on my A6, and recently I purchased a S6 through the dealership. I am reasonably satisfied as I purchased a nice low mileage CPO Audi Q5 at a market price and the salesperson was pleasant, and tried her best to expedite the sales process. While I am happy with the c mileage CPO Audi Q5 at a market price and the salesperson was pleasant, and tried her best to expedite the sales process. While I am happy with the car, I was not fully satisfied with the dealership experience for a few reasons: 1) there was a surprise — at least to me — mandatory charge for dealer installed options - permaplate coating and an anti theft feature - that added ~$1,000 to the price. I did not see much value in these options but it was too late to get them removed. Since they were not optional they should have been specified and added to advertised price on the internet and dealer websites. I found this lack of transparency and upfront pricing annoying and it left me with a bad taste. My family has purchased 5 used cars from 5 different dealers in Houston over the last few years, none of whom added “mandatory” extras to the price 2) I was offered a lousy price for my car as a trade in, $5,000 less than Caravana where I since seamlessly sold my car 3) the paperwork took a long time to complete, mostly because the business manager was busy with other customers and 4) there was calculation/clerical error in the paperwork. This resulted in me being told to pay a lower balance when I picked up the car, which got corrected a few days later. As mentioned, overall an okay experience but it was not as transparent and crisp a transaction as I would have liked and would have expected from a luxury car dealership. More
The Audi Central Houston Dealership sold this car to me on a few big lies - 1. That Q4 e-tron is definitely eligible for $7500 tax credit - I later found this does not apply to 2023 models that are b on a few big lies - 1. That Q4 e-tron is definitely eligible for $7500 tax credit - I later found this does not apply to 2023 models that are bought in 2022 and if parts are not made in North America. The IRS website does not even show this model. When I entered the VIN number, I am told that this is a non NA car, so it's not eligible for tax credit. The dealer mentioned to me in very clear terms that this car is eligible for credit and people who bought it have availed the credit. 2. That Audi is working with Tesla to use its super-charging facilities - I do not see this happening with recent massive drops on Tesla prices and the emerging NACS standard. I do not see any recent news about Tesla opening up superchargers. 3. Range issues - the dealer said that I can easily make 175 miles back home at 100% charge - well that drive was nerve-wrecking as I reached home with just 17% battery left with almost 0 chargers along the way, only because I came at 45mph on a 75 mph road. If I had continued to drive at even a normal speed of 65 mph, I don't think I would have made it home. 4. This car's range is advertised as 241m, but practical number is about 140 miles, considering speed, 80% charge to 10% charge, weather, gradient. ie you cannot go beyond 70 mile radius without recharging anxiety. 5. Despite the fact that they work the bank i financed with, they took a lot of time for completing the papers. I had to wait for 75 minutes to get a signature from one manager, who was busy selling extras to another customer. 6. I spent an hour talking to my loan officer, despite having a full pre-approval. For comparison, I bought a Toyota previous year, with the same bank and loan process was super-smooth. Audi Central Houston was really unprepared about this. Overall took 6 hours to buy a car. 7. Wifi doesn't work inside the building. You have to stand outside the building amidst the noise of downtown cars to talk to anyone. 8. Dealer raved about the EV charging stations. This is a lie. Most stations are very low output (6 to 20 kW) and most Electrify Americas function only at 50% capacity with several broken units or unreliable chargers. The non-Tesla infrastructure is simply pathetic. 9. Overall pretty disappointing EV car and a very disappointing experience with dealer. Will never buy an Audi again. 10. Tried to call back my sales dealer for a few questions post-sales. Absolutely no reply. Just felt ignored completely after sales. More
