I wanted to thank you for writing and express my sincerest apologies that you were not pleased with your visit. This certainly was not our intention or how we attract clients to our dealership. I thoroughly reviewed our notes on your visit and spoke to all concerned. The way I understand it, and please correct me if I have it wrong, is that the car of interest was priced higher then you wanted to pay. We offered a $400 coupon which is available on HerbChambers.com. This was not satisfactory and you left. We wanted to earn your business, so the pre owned manager stepped up with additional money which was emailed to you the next day. Even if we did miss this opportunity to sell you an A4, it would be our pleasure to service your vehicle regardless of where you purchased it. This would of course include the use of our Loaner Car with any extended service! Please let me know what I can do to help rectify the situation. It bothers me that while I am there in person after driving over an hour to look at the car the price is "SMART" and non-negotiable but after I leave suddenly it's marked down another $500? Why not earn my business when I am standing there in the dealership with a check? Why play games? BTW, the email ended up in my junk email box and I didn't see it until over a week later after I'd purchased another vehicle. I feel really bad for the salesperson who worked with me that day that he had to lose out on that sale because of an email filter. If he'd been allowed to make the same deal in the dealership he would have sold a car that day. The prices are either negotiable or they are not. Why say they aren't and then send an email later saying it is. I didn't have this experience at any other Audi, BMW or any dealership I dealt with in my search. I felt like they were all upfront in negotiations and gave me their best deal while I was there. They didn't wait until I left. That's the basis for my review. I hope you find the feedback valuable.

Dear Mr Kenyon, Thank you for taking the time to respond to my original email. We do appreciate your feedback as we truly strive to be better. I do realize that negotiation free “Smart Pricing” is the exception in this industry. We switched to this quite some time ago because customer satisfaction will always be our top priority and simply stated, our customers told us that negotiating was the least pleasurable part of buying a pre-owned car (for complete Smart Pricing details please see our web site for a complete explanation). This is also backed up with a three day money back guarantee and a 30 day trade in guarantee. Although we are confident that we have competitive, prices because no two pre-owned cars are the same, we will sometimes not be the lowest price on a vehicle. We will however always offer the best reconditioned (& Herb Chambers Certified) vehicles available. Add to that the money back guarantee and customers seam to respond. I understand that you’re receiving an email offering you more for your trade may have been confusing. Honestly this was because of Lou’s insistence to our Pre-Owned Manager to give you more in an attempt to get closer on the cash difference you were looking for. Please understand that our intention was not to offer to sell you the car you were interested in for less money, but instead we were looking to stretch on the value of your current vehicle. This truly was not intended to be a negotiating ploy, but a last ditch effort to earn your business. I regret that you viewed this differently. All that said; I unfortunately never have had the opportunity to meet you personally, so all of the information given to me was from Lou and my Sales Manager. I would sincerely like to understand how this was presented to you, as we truly had only had the best of intentions. Mr. Chambers, I want you to know that besides the pricing and the after-the-fact email I found too late, I had a good experience at your dealership, especially with Lou and his sales manager. The SMART pricing and after-the-fact negotation just didn't work for me. If the car could have been $500 less when I was standing in your dealership instead of after I left I wouldn't have lost out on the opportunity and had to have gone elsewhere though I am very happy with my eventual purchase. However, to be fair, I shouldn't comment on intentions but instead on my first-hand experience in the whole process. I take the review process seriously. I think you'll find that reflected in my updated review.
