If you plan on buying a car from Audi Atlanta and paying cash for it, you may want to think again. You will have a very difficult time getting a title. I purchased a used car from Audi Atlanta on 9/16 cash for it, you may want to think again. You will have a very difficult time getting a title. I purchased a used car from Audi Atlanta on 9/16/23. Prior to purchase, I made sure with my salesperson that the title was in house and available if I came down to purchase. I was told it was and that my salesperson physically saw the title. Prior to coming down, a FI person (Mike P) convinced me to finance it because they would get a kickback from the bank. I told him that I would, but only if there was no limits on loan payments required prior to paying off (there usually is). He informed me there was not. The next day they overnighted me a bunch of paperwork that was blank that he wanted me to sign. I told them I would not sign them, along with some forms that were not even needed. The next day a FI manager called me and we talked about it. He told me that I would have to keep the loan 4-6 months in order for them to get the 1% incentive. So we went back to purchasing with cash. I proceeded to go down to Atlanta to purchase the car. I would like to add that prior to the sale, they returned my calls promptly and answered all my questions . My salesperson would return a call or text. When I got to Atlanta to purchase the car the title was not available. I was told there was nobody in accounting on the weekend and Pete K said he would overnight the title on Monday. This probably should have been a red flag, but I trusted this dealership. Pete followed up first of the week and told me that company policy is that they hold the title for 10 days when paying by cashier’s check. 10 days was the 26th. Then I was told 10 BUSINESS days. Today (9/29) is 10 days. The check was verified PAID on 9/20 by Wells Fargo. It turns out the car is very uncomfortable for me to drive. I requested if they could get me the title prior to 9/29 so that I could trade it on a new car. I lost incentives because they failed to get the title to me. I tried to get my title before posting this review, but the GM is claiming it is company policy to hold the title for 10 days from the day it clears the issuing bank. So now they say they will release on Oct 4th. Under Georgia Code 40-2-32(a), it gives the dealer 30 days to successfully provide a title. But I was informed that is only applies when they are the ones submitting the title. I paid cash, they did not collect sales tax or title fees. Therefore they are required to provide title within 48 hours of verified payment. The GM is trying to get me to believe the their bank holds cashiers checks for 10 days before releasing the funds. No bank does this. A VERIFIED cashiers check is paid immediately upon it being presented to the issuing bank. That is why it is a cashiers check, not a personal check. I can not recommend this dealership to anyone. In my experience, they can not be taken at their word. Three dealership employees told me I would get the title right away or the next business day because the accounting office was closed on Saturday. The GM says company policy says all checks are held 10 days from day they are submitted for payment. Only problem is, it appears no other employees are aware of this policy. So legally, I was not made aware of it, so it can not apply. I would never have bought the car if I knew I would not be getting title. If you paid cash for a car, would you leave without the title? I will say the Pete K has been trying to help me get the title from day one. He should be the GM. He knows how to work with customers to get things done. More
