Engine Recall on my Sonata I am completely disgusted by the way they have handled my recall. My car was literally confiscated from me on Aug 17 because it failed the engine tes I am completely disgusted by the way they have handled my recall. My car was literally confiscated from me on Aug 17 because it failed the engine test. I did not expect this at all and have gotten no where with trying to get alternate transportation. The service person told me there was a 2 month backlog on the replacement engines and I am stranded without a car. One service guy told me don't worry we'll get you a loaner car. Well guess what? The service manager, Tim Turnbull, told me they had no loaner cars available. I asked about renting a car and would I be reimbursed. I told Turnbull I would rent a vehicle until they had a loaner which they said would be available this week. Turnbull said to call Hertz and I would only have to pay $10 per day and Hyundai would cover the other $25. When I called Hertz, they said I had to lay out all the money for the rental and then request reimbursement from Hyundai, Turnbull didn't disclose that important bit of information. I called Hyundai HQ and they would not guarantee reimbursement and their website for submitting the claim says someone will get back to you in 60 days regarding reimbursement. Newsflash to Hyundai, people who own Hyundais aren't rich and can't lay out over $40 a day for an indefinite period of time! Hyundai HQ basically gave me the middle finger salute and told me to contact BBB dispute resolution. I called back Turnbull who didn't take my call and left a message that I would not be renting a vehicle. Now it's 6 days later and I called Atlantic Hyundai Service to find out about the status of the loaner vehicle. Dominick took the call and said the person who handles loaner vehicles was not at their desk but he would find out once that person returned and call me back. Well surprise, surprise, he never called me back. No one here will tell you the truth and no one gives a xxxx about your plight. Is it my fault that you manufactured a defective engine and didn't plan appropriately for taking care of customers affected? Meanwhile, I still have to make payments on a car I'm not able to use and pay for insurance on said vehicle. I have been very happy with my car but after this fiasco, I will never buy another Hyundai and I will tell everyone I know to steer clear because you clearly don't give a xxxx about your customers. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy buy one after the experience I have had this last week! My original customer service guy, Johnathan Roque was fine but all he did was check me in and was never around again when I called. Chris Pompeo was my original salesperson and he was terrific with the sale. I still can't get a straight answer from anyone regarding a replacement vehicle or when my car will be fixed. So I would like to return the middle finger salute to Atlantic Hyundai and Hyundai HQ I hope you go out of business because of this recall fiasco. More
