My service advisor was Jonathan Roque located at Hyundai service center in West Islip, NY. I brought my Palisade in on Saturday morning, 9/23/23, for a 30k mile maintenance, a windshield wiper recall, a pos service center in West Islip, NY. I brought my Palisade in on Saturday morning, 9/23/23, for a 30k mile maintenance, a windshield wiper recall, a possible electrical issue with child safety locks signal appearing on and off and the door locks randomly locking and unlocking on top of the vehicle smelling like mold and hearing a swooshing sound when I drove. Jonathan wrote “10%” on my printed out invoice to discount the 30k mile service charge of over $600 after I asked about any discounts available. I was greatly appreciative. I asked Jonathan to keep me updated as to the status and when I can pick up the vehicle. By 6pm I still didn’t hear from Jonathan. I called the number and was told that the service center closed at 4pm. There would be no way to access my vehicle because the service center was closed. They are also closed on Sunday. I asked if I could speak to someone in sales to access the area to retrieve my vehicle and was told that they did not have access to the service departments keys. I did not have access to my vehicle nor any communication regarding the status of it for Saturday 9/23 and Sunday 9/24. By Monday, 9/25, after Ubering to my responsibilities, I still did not hear from anyone. I walked into the service center and spoke directly to the manager Tim Turnbell. Tim was extremely professional and understanding. I was informed that Jonathan was off on Monday’s hence why I never heard from him. Tim contacted Jonathan and Jonathan informed him that he called me on Saturday which he in fact did not. I even offered to show Tim my call log for the entire weekend. Tim allowed me to borrow a loaner vehicle because my truck wasn’t repaired yet with what they found. Tim also was kind enough to credit the labor hours that was not covered under my new vehicle bumper to bumper warrantee from the labor put into the issue. I received a phone call from Jonathan that my truck was ready to be picked up on Tuesday, 9/26/23. I came to the service center in West Islip. Another man handed me my invoice while Jonathan was behind his desk and brought me to the check out area. He explained the charges and the invoice. The 10% off discount that Jonathan Roque initially hand wrote was gone. The man who explained my invoice knew “nothing about the 10% discount.” He went back to Jonathan’s desk and magically it reappeared. Jonathan Roque was extremely unprofessional and failed to communicate to his customer. He also was deceitful. Hyundai of West Islip really needs to evaluate the character of individuals that they hire. I will not be returning. More
Gary gave me the best buying experience I ever had when looking for a car. He went beyond what I expected and took lots of time to set up the car for me, with great patience. On 9/17/23, we met salesman Ed Brightman in person after a few phone calls the day before. At the dealership, he analyzed our deal, gave us a thorough review, and provided great advice on next steps. We really appreciated his time, effort, & customer service. The meeting was worthwhile and educational. No high pressure sales. I recommend Ed to anyone seeking a Hyundai deal on the east coast. He was knowledgeable, funny, and very personable. More
GO SEE ED ! I’m not gonna lie- I hate the whole car buying process. You’re there so long it starts to feel like a hostage situation. Ed is all gas no breaks. Listen, it's notoriously the worst dealership on Long Island. If they have the car you want, it's probably not worth dealing w/ these people regardless. Just wait for the car at any other dealership. They will lie directly to your face and pressure you to pay made up fees. You can likely get those removed, but it will be a complete fight to get it done that will take multiple days and a lot of time. The finance department are complete crooks as well. Just stay away from here unless you are ready for a complete battle w/ a bunch of terrible people. More
