I went to Atlantic Hyundai (193 Sunrise Highway North Service Road ,West Islip, NY 11795) to buy a 2017 Infiniti QX60. On Tuesday Sept 28 I went to inquire about the vehicle. Left a deposit, after I lef Service Road ,West Islip, NY 11795) to buy a 2017 Infiniti QX60. On Tuesday Sept 28 I went to inquire about the vehicle. Left a deposit, after I left a deposit I was informed by the sales rep Michael Zeccardi, that the title for the car wasn’t in and it may take 48 hours for it to arrive. On Monday 10/11/21 I wanted to pull out the deal because I need a car and it’s taking too long for the title to come and I was feeling uncomfortable about the deal. Micheal reassured me nothing “fishy” was going on, he told me titles sometimes take a while to come. Then later on The title arrived Monday 10/11/21. Tuesday 10/12/21 I went to the dealership to purchase the vehicle. The finance manager Jay Cooper greets me pleasantly and we proceeded. We went over financing options. The finance manager states ,My APR rate from the bank was 13 percent. I said there is no way when my credit isn’t bad. So then he states I just got an approval from another bank at 9 percent. I stated my credit isn’t bad for that interest rate I was pre-approved at capital one at a lower rate. He states Atlantic Hyundai doesn’t accept capital one. He was also very pushy about the warranty for the vehicle. Even when I said I didn’t want warranty, He didn’t give me options of the warranty , he told me what the warranty will be and the bank won’t give me a loan without it. I told him I needed to think about my options and will let them know Wednesday 10/13/21. When I got home I resolved the issue , I was able to by the car cash. On Wednesday 10/13/21 I went to see the sales rep Michael. To discuss the option of buying the car cash because I was uncomfortable with the finance manager Jay cooper giving me high rate APR. Micheal spoke to the financing manager Jay Cooper , then all of a sudden a bank approved me at the APR rate I was quoted at capital one. Now I’m extremely upset that I was lied to that only one bank approved me at a APR of 13 , and as I refused the APR percent financing options , the APR percent finance options became lower. I said financing isn’t an option , I would like to pay for the car cash. Micheal said the pricing I received was a financing price and that the price will go up if i buy cash. I stated that won’t be an issue please give me the price. Micheal goes to the manger of used cars Troy Calabrese , and explained the situation. The manager stands up and started screaming on top of his lungs. “Cancel the deal , cancel the xxxxing deal , I won’t sell the car cash. I have 3 people waiting and willing to finance the car.” Micheal then comes and try’s to smooth his manager behavior over and says it in a professional way after the whole dealership heard him being unprofessional and inappropriate. I said to Micheal I waited 2 weeks for this vehicle, and when I wanted to cancel the deal , you informed me all was well and convince me to proceed with the deal. Now your going to refuse a sale because I don’t want to finance and want to buy cash. The manager of used cars Troy Calabrese never gave me a cash price, They refunded my deposit and refused my sale. I was so embarrassed that the manager Troy Calabrese was acting that kind of way and speaking towards me in that type of manor . He made sure he was nice and loud for me to hear him. Not only did I hear him,the whole dealership did. Then everyone was watching, to see what was going on. Was I taken advantage of because I’m a woman, or because I’m a black woman ? All the white people I seen in the dealership was treated kindly and with respect. I’m VERY upset on how I was treated. Dogs In America get treated better then how I was treated in Atlantic Hyundai on Wednesday 10/13/21. Not once was I rude and disrespectful to anyone in that dealership. Unfortunately, this dealership is truly horrible. I don't recommend to anyone who is trying to make a smart purchase. I went into the dealer and described a major pay-cut due to having to switch jobs, and s recommend to anyone who is trying to make a smart purchase. I went into the dealer and described a major pay-cut due to having to switch jobs, and spoke about trading in my (1-year-old) car for one that would save me money on my monthly payments. I showed interest in a used accent, base-line Elantra, or an Ioniq (which they were seemingly running a special on). I made it very clear that I didn't care what I left with, and that the only goal was to save money on my vehicle. My salesperson, Franswa, FLAT-OUT-DECIEVED me. He found a car that would save me about $120/month on a lease and had me sign a paper. I asked 3-5 times how much I would have to put down, and HE SAID NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. When I went into the finance department, I was told they wanted $5000 down. How is this transparent pricing? How is this a good representation of Hyundai? I ended up trading in a car that I truly loved and was proud of, putting all the money in my account down for the lease, and in reality, not saving any money on my monthly payments. Yes, anyone can look back and say, "well why did you do it?" and I understand that. But as many people know, it isn't always that easy to figure this out on the spot, especially with a dealership that makes it their sport to push their customers to make immediate decisions. Lets talk about Hyundai's 3-DAY WORRY FREE EXCHANGE... this dealer would have nothing to do with this. They told me that there was absolutely nothing they could do. I made three attempts with this the very next day after purchasing the car (well within the grace period). I love Hyundai brand. They make great quality cars and at good prices. Atlantic Hyundai is absolutely working to undermine the value and reputation of Hyundai USA, and it is truly unfortunate that the company allows this. My family has owned Hyundais for the past 30 years (8 cars so far), and will not be returning for a 9th. Do not trust the people working here. Trust me. There are many more honest dealerships (especially with so many here on Long Island), and so many more salespeople who choose to do the right thing instead of taking advantage of their customers.
