I had received a letter from Honda offering a buy back deal on the Civic I had purchase from them 2 years ago. I thought I would see what they had to offer knowing that unless it worked and I would be happy with the trade, I would be leaving in the same car I came in. Well…the minute I walked in and met Terrell Carpenter, I knew that he was going to have me leaving in a new car. He fully understood my position and after discussing several options, he hand-picked the perfect car for me. We went for a test drive and I fell in love! He knew where I needed to be with the pricing and after introducing me to “Uncle Richie” and crunching numbers, we came up with something that worked for me. Throughout the process, Terrell continuously asked if I was happy and wanted to make sure I didn’t have any questions about the car or reservations about the numbers we had come up with. Even while the financial details were being finalized, Terrell then went on to get the car detailed, plates transferred and getting me settled in my new car! From the start, it wasn’t about the sale for Terrell, it was about building a relationship and gaining customer loyalty. He is truly a great asset to Atlantic Honda and made this one of the best car buying experiences I’ve ever had. I went to a few dealerships to get another car because my family needed the one I was using but when they found out what my situation was they were hesitant to help and turned me away while other dealers offered interest rates that were through the roof. I almost gave up when my boyfriend told me about Larry Ellis from Atlantic Honda in Bay Shore, who helped him get a car without credit , co-signer or money down. By the end of his visit drove away in a brand new sonata for less than what he was willing to pay monthly. As I made my way into Atlantic Honda Larry warmly welcomed me in, right away I explained my situation he looked at me smiled and told me not to worry that he was there to help. He showed me the cars I asked for, ran some paper work Larry stayed with me 2 hours after he was scheduled to go home just to help me with my situation and assuring me he was going to see this through. The very next day Larry called and asked when I would be available to pick up my new Honda Accord. Overjoyed I almost cried I couldn't believe that even with bankruptcy under my credit he was able to help me get the car I wanted with no co-signer and very little money down that I was able to get in less than a day. Again Larry has proven to really be there for the customer and shown to work as hard as needed to get you in a car that's just perfect for you. Love the Atlantic auto mall in BayShore. I met Larry E. a few years ago and every since then he has been my only go to guy. I feel from day one he has done and went way beyond. Would not return I would not recommend this dealership as I feel that I was ripped off by a number of dishonest sales people. They just look to make a buck and will tell you anything to get you to purchase a car right away - typical dealership I guess. I was sold a preowned car and was told that certain parts on the car were new, when they were actually not. I have ended up having to put a lot of money into this car for repairs that should not have to be done to the ordinary car. All of this and I paid significantly over book value, which would have been okay if the car were in the condition it was represented in. After expressing this concern, I was talked down to as if I was born yesterday - it was odd. No apology or admission of fault, and they do not care to fix the problem, honestly. I will not go back to this dealership and would not recommend it to anyone. I have heard of other reliable Honda dealers in the area, so I will check one of those out next time, or purchase a different brand car. More
