went to this dealer last week to look at a new car. Got passed from sales person to sales person. I didnt even know who was helping me, i guess it was because i was looking at a cheap car. I was in the dealer for hours! they said the could not get the loan BUT could get a loan on a car that cost $15,000 more then the one i was looking at, they offer me a payment of $586.00> they had in scribbled on a paper they did not even know witch number was what!! I said no deal and walked out, i found them to be disorganised, they had a sale guy in training talk to me at one point. Dont go this dealer! More
Purchased a Certified mini van about a week ago. Stay Away! Dealer told me they would pay off the remaining payment on my pilot lease and proceeded to not pay it and ignore my repeated phone calls. We were also promised 2 $200 referral checks to my parents for referring us to Atlantic. To this day, 5 years later and after an unimaginable number of phone calls, my parents have yet to see their money. The sales mananger Rivero is the ultimate shister. These guys are nothing more than straight up rip-off artists. Stay away...far, far away. More

Took the car home and my mechanic I purchased a pre-certified 2007 Honda Civic SI from a local dealership on 12/26/08. No accidents were disclosed. Took the car home and my mechanic noticed that the driver's side door was misaligned and was repaired poorly (hollow sound and scraping the bottom of the door sill). Took it back to the dealership and complained about it. A $200 dollar refund was given to me to realigned the door. When asked about the paint, the service manager told me to just put some touch up paint on. Fast forward a couple of months later. The paint on the door started to bubble up and rust. Took it back to the dealership and was told, without an inspection, by the pre-own manager to see his friend's body shop as they will give me a discount on the work. I told him that it was a precertified car and now it's rusting. He then replied that he is over his monthly budget and can't spend more money on this. I called Honda of America and filed an official complaint against the dealership. Honda couldn't get the dealership to reply to them. So they had my ccar dropped off at another dealership for the regional manager to check it out. The conclusion was that this was not a Honda manufacture issue and that the pre-certified warranty doesn't apply. The door skin was not applied correctly and is rusting thru the inside. The trunk was also replaced (no VIN) and now it's also starting to rust. Took the car to a reputable body shop and was told that the door skin needs to be replaced, which is more expensive than just replacing the door itself. The body shop told me that the door skin was missing the proper foam/adhesive and is RUSTING throughout. The trunk just needs to be reprimed and painted The estimated damage is about $3200. More

What moron thought that would be believable in a customer review? LMAO. Idiots! Anyway, it's hard to believe what these guys did. But they quoted me a price on a Honda Accord LX for $19,900. I was about to leave for the night when Joe quoted me a trade-in price on my Civic for $14,000. This, he said, was a special loyalty program quote that expired that evening, so I needed to take advantage. (My entire family drive nothing but Hondas for the past decade, so they were right, I deserved some loyalty back) Intrigued by the offer, I found myself sticking around to see what we could hammer out together on paper. But neither number was honored when Charles wrote out the purchase agreement for the deal. He added a bogus $710 delivery fee to the price. He also wrote the trade-in value at $12,800. When I asked, what happened to the $14,000 quote. He said I was still receiving the value of $14,000 because he chopped $1,100 off the tax of the transaction. This was a complete lie since the total tax of the purchase minus the trade-in should have been only $508. You can't save $1,100 on a $508 tax, can you? LOL. You see, Charles had attempted to trick me by applying the tax to the $19,900 price quote, which, of course, is incorrect, since that was not ever going to be the amount owed. $19,900-$14,000=$5,900 is the correct amount owed. The 8.625% sales tax is supposed to be applied to that number, $5,900. But it was late when Charles dazzled me with his sneaky mathematics so I didn't catch this until the next day when I was at home going over it with my Brother-in-Law. In the mean time, I'd left a $500 deposit on the car with my credit card and told him I'd be back in a day, assuming the numbers all checked out. Before I left, I alerted him that a friend who I relayed the numbers to on the phone, told me my total amount owed should've come out to $12,500 (this included the balance of the loan left on my trade-in Civic). But Charles' final amount due was $14,600. I asked why the calculations didn't seem to add up and he once again spouted mathematical diarrhea that made my head spin. Jotting down numbers and flashing his calculator figures at me. I shrugged and figured I would see what he did when I studied it the next day. But what I discovered was that he managed to work an extra $2,000 into the deal with his phony tax-saving myth and several unnecessary add-ins that he claimed were standard and mandatory, but were obviously only included to sweeten his own commission. When I went back to the dealership and pointed out all Charles' "mistakes," I expected him to attempt to re-negotiate and sweeten the deal to make it up to me or at least to offer something a little more fair. I mean, come on! Didn't he know I was this close to killing the deal now?! Instead, the dishonest swindler defended this garbage as a "good deal" I pointed out that, in effect, none of the quoted numbers were being honored in a straight-forward way and he was actually charging me more than I'd agreed to and more than I had any intention of paying. I even showed Charles the "True Market Value" price according to Edmunds.com. That's the average price that customer are actually paying based on national sales data being tabulated. I showed him that the "TMV" was $19,600 in our area of the country, so I was already paying $300 above that, if Charles would bother to honor the $19,900 quote he'd given me. But Charles had no response to that, except to tell me that I was already receiving a superb deal for my trade-in with his offer of $12,800 (which, again was not the original quote he and his manager had given me). Basically, these guys spoke the numbers I wanted to hear and then wrote out a deal that was $2,000 worse for me and favorable for themselves. I thought when salesmen negotiate, they are supposed to start out with higher numbers and come down. At Bay Shore Honda, they do the opposite. LOL. I tried to point this out and the manager, Joe, told me I was "acting like a different person" tonight. And I said, "Yes, because I looked over the deal and it's not what I thought it was." He said, "We didn't trick you," which was odd because I was careful not to accuse them of any trickery since I was still hoping to re-negotiate, but after he said that, I retorted, "Well, I didn't want to go there, but you did, indeed, trick me with these slick numbers." The kicker is that when I got fed up and asked for my deposit back, they wouldn't simply credit my credit card and let me leave. They attempted to entrap me with a bunch of B.S. about it being a long process, involving me filling out paperwork and them sending the paperwork upstairs and then I'd see the credit the following day. I said, "No. It took you 2 minutes to take $500 off the card. It should take the same amount of time to put it back on. Just run the card through the machine and bring me a receipt for the credit." They refused, again citing their lengthy "Process" that was obviously intended to keep me there, while they wasted more of my time trying to convince me to overpay for their stupid over-priced product. Which brings me to one last point. You would think that in Bay Shore, merchants would be a little sensitive to the economic climate. The percentage of houses in foreclosure here is astronomical. The idea that these salesmen are so greedy that they can't extend any type of real incentive to do business with them is truly sad, quite disgusting, not to mention detrimental to commerce. Consumers ought to know that car salesman earn profit even when they sell cars below the invoice price through rebate deals and incentive programs. The fact that Charles looked me in the face and tried to tell me that he couldn't make money selling me the car at the numbers we'd talked about shows that he only wants to do business that is advantageous to him. He could care less about the working man or the struggling man or the man who wants to give him some business, but can't afford the bloated sticker price in this deadly economy. Charles could have sold me a car and earned himself some bucks. I had the title in my pocket, ready to trade in my car. But he couldn't bare to shake hands on a deal that would've been mutually beneficial. These guys are all about their own wallets. They're all about greed. Today, too many Americans only care about themselves and their own bottom line. It's true. Why do you think the whole country is being steadily flushed down the toilet. People didn't act like this 50 years ago. People used to care a little bit about decency. Not any more. And not at Atlantic Honda in Bay Shore. Their numbers are as fishy as the Atlantic. More

Worst dealership experience ever. The sales guy (Leroy) was nice, but the sale manager was rude. After negotiating a price they tried to run through another $700 in fees. Once we agreed on a price we waited 4 hours to pay and have the paper work ready (4 hours!!!). The finance manager was rude telling us to wait while he was having Chinese food with his buddies. They did not accept my personal check even though I already gave 1/3 in cash. I had to write 3 checks. They treated me like sh***t, were rude, could not care less about me, everyone was giving us looks as they could not care less. They blamed me because during the negotiation I walked away and then came back, they were trying to get back at me for leaving by having me wait unnecessarily. While I was waiting some other customer complained, they wanted to leave but the dealership hold their drivers license and would not return it. I still don't have my title and hope that they will send it to me later once my checks clear. 1st time I have seen this, as usually dealers have the capability of verifying the funds with the bank. Last time I bought a car at Subaru they were so nioce and it us 1 hour top process evrything and leave with the car. This Honda dealer is cheap, awfull and rude. More
I did not read the ratings before I went into Atlantic Honda, but I was greeted by one of the most friendliest salesman I had ever had. The deal was great! I ordered a 2010 Accord Coupe V6 EXL with navigation. It rides great! If the reviews are so bad on this dealership, how come the sold over 420 cars in the month of August 2009?? I bought the car on a saturday and it was a locate car and I got it the next day! I even could of got it on saturday if I wanted too!. Every employee that works there is hard working and dedicated. If going there, request Richie. He knows what he is doing and has a great personality. He will not rip you off because he has been in this industry for over 20 years and knows his cars! My buying experience was great and I will come back again!! More

Make sure you don't fall for their tactics.say NO to all those charges. One more important thing... they ask you to sign a double contract(temporary contract) no matter what kind of financing you have (which is kind of Stupid). In my case I had a bankers check, since i bought my car on a weekend, they could not verify with the bank so they asked me to sign a temporary contract, ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? that is a fr***ng bankers check.......After 2 weeks from the day i bought my car, I asked them to return my temp contract, no response from them....they never answer your calls. today I am going to their dealership to find out. I request all of you to think twice before going to Atlantic honda. Thanks More

I had gotten a check from the bank and made the arrangements with my insurance and everything, as we had secured the deal with Atlantic Honda. All for nothing. I could clearly see exterior damage to the car caused while the car was in their care (because the damaged areas are intact in the online photos in the classified ad) They refused to repair these items at their cost.
