Dealership lists autos on Autotrader and CarGurus at the finance price versus the actual price. Basically they are listing the price after a “down Payment” so the sites can better rate the deal of the car finance price versus the actual price. Basically they are listing the price after a “down Payment” so the sites can better rate the deal of the car and so they can get leads at the cheaper price. When you call in they quickly point out that is not the real price. I was specifically calling about a 2024 Chevy Equinox EV that they have listed for $24100 on Autotrader and CarGurus stock number #55647A. When I inquired about why the price was different they blamed te 3rd party sites for the bad listing and then pointed me to their website where it is listed for $26095. They want me to believe that the 3rd party site is to blame for the bad listing but after looking at the dealer reviews it is obvious that they have been doing this practice for quite a while. they absolutely can have the price listed right on the website but they want to get people calling in first so they can get the lead. They said they would split the difference with me but I declined to work with them since they have deceptive marketing practices. More
