I brought my explorer in for a recall. It was a job that should take less than a day to complete. When I took it in to the service department, they said can we have the car for a few days. It was a job that should take less than a day to complete. When I took it in to the service department, they said can we have the car for a few days. i was a little surprised by that. They had the recall complete in 2 days. The following week I brought my sons explorer in for the same recall on a Thursday, the service guy said it might be done past the weekend. I know there is a guide that estimates the time it takes to complete a task, and the time allotted is generous. If allotted time is for instance 3 hours, usually a mechanic can complete the job in less time. How come if we have a appointment, and they know how long a job takes, why cannot the scheduler figure out that in an 8 hour day you can do a 3 hour job, a 3 hour job and a 1 hour job. (1 hour lunch). In another week, I am bringing my moms car in for a recall. Can’t wait for that!! More
