I was in the market for a new BMW to replace my old 2005 which died. There are 4 major dealerships in Phoenix (although two are both owned by Chapman) and I visited three. I started with Arrowhead, then w which died. There are 4 major dealerships in Phoenix (although two are both owned by Chapman) and I visited three. I started with Arrowhead, then went to Chapman Tempe, and then North Scottsdale. I was treated well and was given written quotes on two options by Arrowhead for an X3. Along the way I found out that one critical option for me is VERY difficult to find - a spare tire. You can get an X3 or X5 with a spare but they are very hard to find. Likely you may have to do a special order and wait 6 weeks for delivery. The other key parameter I had was range on a tank of gas, which eliminated the X3 M series as the gas mileage is not great. I need both of these as I am now retired and do really long road trips, like 12,000+ miles, and in many places, particularly in the Western US, you may be a long ways from nowhere. Run flats are only good for 100 to 200 miles, and that may not get you to the nearest town. If it does, it may take you days to get a replacement tire. My experiences with Chapman Tempe was not great. They had no cars with spares, did not give me a written quote, and took the position that this is what I have, take it or leave it. On the positive side they were willing to order a car for me and the Tempe tax rate is the lowest of the 4 dealers and that will save you several hundred dollars (approximately $500 in my case). Scottsdale had one X5 with a spare, but it wasn't to my liking. They did suggest an option to put a spare in the lower trunk (below the main trunk), but that would not be tied down, and you would have to buy a spare, jack, etc at $619. What annoyed me was the would not give me a written quote. Their attitude was get a quote from someone else and we will beat it. When I am buying a 50 to 80k car I want a good deal, but am not going to quibble over a couple of hundred dollars. Later that afternoon I got a call from the Arrowhead salesman, and explained my situation. It turned out they also had a X5 with a spare. I went back the next morning and drove it. It was an older 2020, and it was loaded with a lot more stuff than I needed. But they really wanted to get rid of the 2020s so I got a really good deal. More importantly, I had a very good experience with Arrowhead, vs not good experiences with Chapman Tempe and N Scottsdale. More

(Why didn't I get lower rate originally???.that's a little underhanded) Giuseppe(Finance Manager)never called me back after I told him "warranty had to be reviewed, if it wasn't good, then deal would be cancelled!" The Smartcard warranty is HORRIBLE, many complaints on Better Business Bureau(38 complaints). Wally Plachinski- sales rep..is really passive aggressive, when I called and said my mind had changed. Wally replied "there is a restocking fee!" Asked when can i pick up my check?? No relpy, but would call back. Wally called 10 min later informed "the car was mine, come and pick it up, or I could trade it in to them. Even though delivery of vehicle was not taken. Otherwise my earnest $$$ was forfeited. 3 different answers to create confusion & distract. THESE PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT GOODWILL OR FUTURE BUSINESS. Once somebody says no or changes their mind, true colors are revealed. No callbacks and they hide like a Burglar. Left message for Jason(Sales Manager & Brandon Bingham(General Manager) and no call back. Very Unprofessional & Sad. Now will get Attorney General for Consumer Affairs involved to get my $1,000 back. Waiting to hear back from Jim Hoffa (7 on Your Side) so others escape unhappiness and loss of $$$$. Finally, i would totally understand a restocking fee of 10-20%, but this is wrong/greedy.However being retired, don't like to be taken advantage of. I see some odd (what I would consider angry) reviews here, and they don’t make much sense to me based on my experiences. I’ve purchased 2 BMWs here in December 2019, March 2020, and had our X3 services here, and they don’t make much sense to me based on my experiences. I’ve purchased 2 BMWs here in December 2019, March 2020, and had our X3 services here as well. So I’ve been spending some time here. Everyone I’ve dealt with except for one finance person who is long gone, has been beyond friendly and courteous. Maybe even too professional sometimes? They are really prepared to deal with uptight image driven middle-Managers and aspirational status seekers with super inflated senses of importance, and it can take a minute for them to relax and be more personable but once they get to know you they are more than willing to adapt and treat you like a buddy instead of a “client” just takes a moment. Service department is a little cold Maybe, but efficient and upfront. Their diagnostic tools, and videos sent recording any issues found are top notch, if a bit spendy. But it’s a German OEM, they are doing things properly and by the book, it will always be an expense. Otherwise, after years of wonderful service and experience at BMW Seattle, I was glad to find a similar top tier service and sales experience at Arrowhead. More

The dealership itself is spacious, clean, and VERY comfortable...makes you want to stay awhile so they succeeded on that front as well. It's an impressive place with impressive staff. I've purchased 4 prior BMW vehicles through another friend (who was a GM in CA) so I was used to white glove service. I found that at Arrowhead. In terms of the sales experience. Maurice Bell has the enthusiasm and drive found only in the best of sales personnel (I'm a manager of a technology sales team so would know). He's informative not pushy and introduces you to the cars you have interest in. Not only that he makes you feel like you're family. He also gives you door to door service if needed and that is a huge plus if you are working. Maurice himself gets 5 STARS! I would highly recommend him to everyone I know. TylerPassmore the BMW genius was like no one I had worked with before. Extremely knowledable and willing to come to me for additional training if needed. Finally my finance experience with Dale Bruemmer was efficient and "painless". Dale is the kind of guy who makes you feel comfortable and things go smoothly. No more to say other than go to Arrowhead BMW and see for yourself....of course ask for Maurice! More
