I purchased a used 2018 Stelvio online from Winter Haven Dodge and three days after I got it; the service engine light went off; electronic throttle malfunction…I freaked out and called the dealer only to l Dodge and three days after I got it; the service engine light went off; electronic throttle malfunction…I freaked out and called the dealer only to learn that the car had a warranty; and it has to go to a local Alfa dealer; Arrigo Alfa. I contacted Chris in service and he informed me the car does not have warranty and it’s $250 to diagnose the problem. I had sunk every dime I had into the car and didn’t have the money. So I took the car to my Exotic Motor mechanic who hooked it up and was told the code that was kicking out was for the fuel pump; with a $1400 quote to fix. My original dealer informed me that while I rejected the extended warranty the car came with a 90 day 3k warranty but it took them so long to respond to me that I had put 5k miles on the car and Winter Haven Dodge would not honor the warranty; even with proof the car came with the issue. So I had been thinking I need a new fuel pump and considering not many people work on these cars I would take it to Arrigo for a second check. So this week (after saving all this time for the diagnostic fee) I am told by Chris that it was actually the turbo charger that needs to be replaced because the watergate actuator that is part of the turbo assembly is internally flawed! Now, let’s just remember that I have sunk every dime into purchasing this vehicle and I am paying 27% interest on a car I had to purchase because my inexpensive, awesome Audi A3 my daughter had just totaled, in January, after totaling her own car in December! I never had any plans on purchasing a new car and going from a $300 car payment to over $500; and so my credit and financial situation was poor; but in order for myself and my family to get to work we need a working car. After Chris informed me about the need to replace the turbo; going from a $1400 to a $4500 hit me hard and I began to cry thinking about how messed up everything in my life was; and while I was having a melt down Chris, his boss the service manager and the service technician were behind a closed door making fun of me for what they called self diagnosis of the car and the dramatics because I was very upset. I left never receiving my quote which broke down the work. I followed up with a phone call to get it and when Chris answered the phone he had me on speaker and was finishing up laughing; he kept me on speaker; again to clown me with his coworkers. The next day, still never received the quote for the parts and labor to replace the turbo (because while my mechanic got a fuel pump code, Arrigo said they got a turbo code); so I called Chris again and again he answered the phone on speaker and laughing. I advised him I never received the quote and once he finally sent it; it had no part or labor breakdown; the cost was just called replace turbo charger assembly with all parts and labor to go along with it! While my selling dealer is a xxx so are the Arrigo service crew! They are clearly in the wrong business if they can’t deal with a customers of various mental health problems. No compassion or empathy whatsoever. What’s also makes it worth is that I’ve been calling Chris on his private line since February and he acted like he knew nothing about my situation. I definitely will NEVER go to any Arrigo dealership ever again. I will drive to Broward or Dade county to see an Alfa dealership from now on! More
