Quick synopsis. • Replaced a part not asked for that was very expensive. Did not fix issue and would not refund or discount • Created a new issue I did not have b • Replaced a part not asked for that was very expensive. Did not fix issue and would not refund or discount • Created a new issue I did not have before it was worked on • Waited 6 moths for a part that I was never told was in stock until I emailed heated letter to manager. • I was told the problem they caused was going to cost 200+ then told later it would be 400+ • Asked to talk to service manager and was ignored • Clock and radio station erased and not set • Not sure if they have a wash bay but car was not cleaned • Brought vehicle back 3 times for a problem that was pre diagnosed and ultimately was THE ACTUAL PROBLEM, but repair was not attempted until third time. • Took 7 days for final repair that should have been hours even though I had set an appointment. Family member is a mechanic and per-diagnosed the issue but due to other job was not able to complete the repair themself. Original issue was not fixed after very expensive part was replaced even though I asked for another less expensive part to be replaced first. Service department response was that they have a fixed set of instructions provided by Nissan and must adhere to it for repairs. Don't believe that for a moment. If a part is broken Nissan is not going to mandate that they repair other parts first just because that have a "set of instructions". I get the vehicle back after replacing the part along with other smaller repairs and the original problem is not fixed. PLUS, I now have another issue that I didn't have before I brought it in. The vehicle is now dead every week to week and half, so I need to charge the battery every week and carry a jump pack to avoid being stranded. So, I call the service manager to explain the problem and he says this is what Nissan requires them to do. Well, the expensive part you put in to fix the problem did not work so put the old part back in and replace the part I asked you to do in the first place. No can do. Your part has been thrown away and we did all we can do, and you are out of luck. Try calling Nissan directly and see if they will help me. Nissan of course said your car is out of warranty and we will not help at all trying to resolve an issue with one of our dealers. Called back to manager and he said the best he can do is offer me 50% split on the replacement of the part I asked for in the first place. However, the part is on back order. Almost 6 months later I send a heated email to the service manager to see what the status of the back order is since I have heard nothing. I get a call from the service tech, and he says that the part was in stock for a few days and was shocked to hear that no one had contacted me. What a coincidence. I drop off my vehicle to be serviced, as I was going out of town (this is a work vehicle, and I cannot be without it for very long). The repair should take about 2-3 hours. The electrical issue that appeared after I brought the vehicle to them, I was told would cost me about 290 for diagnostic. I get a call about 4 days later to tell me that it needed a more comprehensive diagnostic, and it would be in the 400’s. I am not happy and insist the service manager call me to discuss the fees and terrible service to this point. 7 days total I get the vehicle back. The electrical problem is resolved under warranty, so it costs me nothing and the replacement parts asked for on the first place was 50% as agreed. The service manager NEVER called or walked out to talk to me when I requested it whole picking up the vehicle. Never again will I use the service dept at Arlington Heights Nissan. Very unhappy customer. More
