Just wanted to thank you, guys, I had a great experience at the dealership on Saturday. I purchased the 2008 Dodge Charger SXT, and am in love with it. Smooth ride, looks great, and fits me extremely well at the dealership on Saturday. I purchased the 2008 Dodge Charger SXT, and am in love with it. Smooth ride, looks great, and fits me extremely well (tough to do, I'm 6'4"). I had it checked out by my mechanic yesterday, and he said everything with the car is in great condition. Brakes look good, tires are near-new, no problems with the car, and he could see that the oil had just been changed by Apple. That's the sort of professionalism that you expect, yet don't always receive (we bought a used car for my wife from a dealership up in Reading, PA, and had a different experience altogether). Simply put, Apple does it right. I just sold my Ford Bronco that I had for a dozen years (200,000 miles+ and still looks great), so although I am no longer a Ford owner, I'll always be one at heart. That was an incredible vehicle. All that to say - if, when I buy a car next, I have a Ford model in mind, I will absolutely be in touch with your dealership first and give you a chance at making the sale. I think all that's left to close the loop is to get the second car key made and delivered, and then I am certifiably a 100% satisfied customer. More
I had a very good experience at Apple Ford, and am very happy they had a vehicle I was looking for. This is the 2nd used vehicle I have purchased over the past several years through Stanley, and have been happy they had a vehicle I was looking for. This is the 2nd used vehicle I have purchased over the past several years through Stanley, and have been very happy and appreciative of his help. I have always recommended Apple Ford for friends and neighbors. More
We went to Apple Ford knowing exactly the car we wanted, and just wanted to take a quick test drive and see what they would give us on our trade in. First, when we walked in the door, the salesman greeted m and just wanted to take a quick test drive and see what they would give us on our trade in. First, when we walked in the door, the salesman greeted me and never said a word to or even looked at my wife after that. I didn't notice it at first, but she was not happy about that. We did our test drive with Gary, and he really knew the car and was very good about explaining everything about the car to us which I did like. Where everything really went wrong was when we came back to the sales floor and saw the trade in price offer. We had already been to a couple of other dealerships and gotten appraisals, so we knew the price range we were looking in. We weren't asking for anything crazy, just a fair offer. They came back with an offer of 27,000, which was 2,000 less than one dealer, and 5,000 less than another dealer. These other dealers didn't have the cars we wanted and we didn't want to have to order the car, and this is why we went to Apple. Well, when we told them we wanted them to at least match the other dealers James Koser the manager came over and explained why they couldn't go up on the trade in price. First he told us that they had a similar trade in recently and they only sold it for 29,000 which was a lie. We went home that night, and the vehicle he talked about was on their site listed for 35,000! Then he told us there was no one else that would come close to the price we were asking, and when I explained that other dealers already had he basically laughed. We left there so angry at his blatant attempts to con us, and his outright lies. Yes, their prices are low and they have a great deal with service for life on your car, but it's only worth it if you don't mind terrible customer service and being screwed on your trade in. There are so many other great dealers out there, don't waster your time. More
We only went to Apple to see a new color of fiesta that was hard to find, and did not intend to buy it there. We intended to use the AAA buying service instead. I told the salesman what I had seen price- was hard to find, and did not intend to buy it there. We intended to use the AAA buying service instead. I told the salesman what I had seen price-wise on AAA and what I wanted for the trade. He said, OK. I was pleasantly surprised. He then wrote up the sales agreement and tried to charge the $795 delivery charge twice, hoping that I did not know that the charge is already part of the MSRP and Invoice prices. I pointed this out and he had it corrected. I am skeptical that this was an honest oversight. We ordered the car and came back 2 months later. In fairness, we actually ordered one car and then changed our order and ordered another one. They were very nice about this. The purchase process took 4 hours. We waited a few times for different folks to be available. The Customer Service lady tried very hard to sell us rust-proofing and undercoating, using "today only" tactics like a free lojack system, but today only. The finance guy scribbled down warranty offerings without asking us any questions about what we wanted or how much we drive the car. He had no warranty detailed literature or information. His "time of purchase" price for the warranty (the one option he offered) was $2400, it is $2050 on the ford website, or less without the first day rental option. He also offered a great deal on a prepaid maintenance plan. It was over $2000, the most expensive I can find on the ford website now for my car is $1455. Again, no details about exactly what this plan covers. In the end we are happy with the car and the deal. This process has been a mixed bag and you always need to be very careful and research everything... More
I hate buying new cars. It always takes too long and haggling over price is a pain. Having said that, this was by far the worst buying experience I've ever had. My wife wanted a new / small car that got haggling over price is a pain. Having said that, this was by far the worst buying experience I've ever had. My wife wanted a new / small car that got great gas mileage. We went to Apple Ford since it was close and we were just "looking". She test drove a car and just loved it. We left the dealership after talking to a salesman with the intention of shopping around a little before making a final purchase. The salesman called us numerous times and stated he would give us a great deal on the car if we came back. After taking it over with my wife we decided to go back and make a deal. The first deal they offered use was a joke. List price on the car and the trade offer was even worse. They even tried to double charge us for the $795 delivery / destination charge. 3 hours later we finally got the price down to a figure (with the trade) we could accept. As far as the trade goes the sales manager told me since my trade had over 100,000 miles he could not sell it on his lot, that he would wholesale the car and most likely just break even. That was another lie since they did list it on the website for sale at a much higher price than he said he expected to sell if for. I should have shopped around more before buying. More
After searching the internet I finally tracked down the Ford Flex I wanted - right color and equipment - at Apple Ford in Columbia MD. I spent about a week emailing back and forth with the salesman, Nevil Ford Flex I wanted - right color and equipment - at Apple Ford in Columbia MD. I spent about a week emailing back and forth with the salesman, Neville Dick, over the price and the details of the deal. Since I was in New York and would be traveling 4 hours to pick up the car, I wanted to be sure everything went smoothly and conveyed this to Neville. Somewhere in the middle of the negotiations it occurred to me to ask for the odometer reading. I knew it should only have a few miles on it and wanted to make sure this car hadn't been heavily used as a demo. I didn't think it was a problem because their pictures showed the car with the tire protectors still on and since this was a pretty loaded car, I figured they weren't using it for demos anyway. Except the salesman kept putting off giving me the answer. In the hub-bub of making the deal and travel arrangements and getting insurance for the new car, I almost let it slide. After I had added the car to my insurance policy and gotten train tickets to Maryland, I realized that they still hadn't gotten back to me with the odometer reading. I kept pushing and after asking for the EIGHTH time, I got an answer at 9:30 at night the day before we were supposed to go pickup the car. It had 800 miles on it!! They told me that only the dealer's wife had driven it for a week, because she liked it. Further inquiries revealed that she was still driving it! Even after they agreed to sell it to me and set a price. And that she's been driving it for three weeks as her personal daily driver! Aparently, they we re trying to avoid telling me this and counted on the fact that when I showed up for the car, I'd be 4 hours from home with no trvael arranmgements and that I wouldn't want to go home empty handed. I'm so glad I was persistant and uncovered their bait and switch, trying to pass a used car as a new car, in time! More
I needed a second key to my 1999 Windstar, which cost $135 to duplicate, and in the same appointment the service department set a time, two days later, to bring my car in for a recall on the sub-frame. F $135 to duplicate, and in the same appointment the service department set a time, two days later, to bring my car in for a recall on the sub-frame. Ford Corp. & Apple Ford new my sub-frame was in jeopardy and they knew they had no replacement parts for the repair, yet they gave me no warning or indication to hold off on spending $135 for the second key. The next day they informed me my vehicle had been grounded and deemed unsafe to drive. In lieu of repair, Ford is offering 150% of bluebook value. I accepted their offer after researching the recall on the internet. I also expected to receive a refund for the key they duplicated two days earlier. When I spoke to the Service Manager he responded by saying he saw no reason to refund the money spent on the duplicate key. More
So far so good on my delivery of my 2011 Harley F 150! Just waiting for my plates, registration title now, which Apple is doing for me. They had the best price, by far. Gave me a fair trade and the new Just waiting for my plates, registration title now, which Apple is doing for me. They had the best price, by far. Gave me a fair trade and the new truck was exactly as described. It is easy for a dealer to get great ratings when there is no surprises, but here there was. One of the wheels had some road rash. Apple did not hesitate to flip the damaged wheel with another one from another new Harley F 150, so they can have their wheel guy repair it at their leisure. They knew I was from out of state and they did the right thing! In my view, this is a better test of a dealer than when everything goes perfect, although, as stated, everything did go perfect in the end. Highly recommennded! More
After reading three ex-car salesman's books on the tricks of the trade and how to get a great deal, Apple Ford did not disappoint in displaying exactly the same slimeball tactics and effectively, if not trul of the trade and how to get a great deal, Apple Ford did not disappoint in displaying exactly the same slimeball tactics and effectively, if not truly, illegal tactics that are the timeless reputation of the industry (I will find out and they will answer to the law). All dealers suck, so Apple will never suffer any dramatic loss of business no matter how many bad reviews they get, unfortunately. The only thing I hope for is that someday cars can be bought directly from the manufacturer over the internet. But the dealers' trade association wields political clout and employs hundreds of thousands of jerks who would be infesting other industries if there weren't dealerships. If you do buy there, watch out for the illegal overcharges on fees and their tax charges on delivery and doc fees -- illegal. More
I went to this location due to a major sale they were having with all makes and models of cars. I found a 1999 with 38,000 miles asked several times how much the car cost and was never told until I sat d having with all makes and models of cars. I found a 1999 with 38,000 miles asked several times how much the car cost and was never told until I sat down to do the signatures. Due to a divorce, my credit needed a lot of support so I knew my interest rate would be high. I had a trade in worth about $2000. Ended up my first time purchasing a car in a new state away from family, I was not blessed to deal with this dealer. As a young woman, I suppose they thought I will have forever to pay for a 1999 car with 3 years of mileage and the money that they gave me for my trade in and put back on my bottom line sales...totaling $38,000! And as for the service center repairing the things that needed to be repaired 'nothing but a run around'! This is the worst place to go and purchase a car and by no means go alone! It is a den of thieves! I am under 30yrs of age and I suppose they saw an idiot coming! It has been 3 months now and I am still trying to get the car fixed! More
