When I went in to this dealer last month, I had to describe what was happening and of course, I had to use non mechanical terms since I know very little about cars. They came up with two things that describe what was happening and of course, I had to use non mechanical terms since I know very little about cars. They came up with two things that might be causing the problem. They checked it out and it was their second idea. This is typical for them. They are very good at diagnosing problems. I always get fast reliable service from this dealer. I've been dealing with them for many years now. They are very friendly and go out of their way to explain things to me. I have checked prices at other places and this dealer's prices are the same or cheaper. I also still own two vehicles that I bought from them. More

Every time I come in for service whether it is an oil change or scheduled preventative maintenance the staff are excellent. They treat you with respect and my vehicle like it was there own. I am so satisfied with the dealership that I bought an 09 Taurus from them. I have recommended them to a number of my friends and co-workers. These guys just simply do it right bar none. Their prices are very competitive but where they out shine the others is with the great customer service. The service techs are also some of the best I have worked with in my many years of car ownership. More

I've bought 2 new vehicles from Apple Valley Ford to date. The first vehicle had a whole bunch of problems relating to the Mfg and not the dealership. I tried going to other dealers for repair that we date. The first vehicle had a whole bunch of problems relating to the Mfg and not the dealership. I tried going to other dealers for repair that were much closer to my house but the fixes always seemed to fail or were of low quality and eventually I ended up back at Apple Valley. To which it seems odd but the buck stopped there, it was fixed and never returned for the same issue. 4wd motor, windshield, emergency brakes, rear differential, cam phasers etc. My last service on my truck really made me mad with them though. I never tell the service writers that I'm a Machinist/Mechanic or that my Father was a lifetime Ford service Tech until I see the need. Service writer Eric withheld my old parts (brake rotors)when I told him that I was keeping them. It's odd that a set of personally inspected rotors prior to a brake job would end up missing when its time to pick the vehicle up. 115k miles on truck, they say the rotors are shot when I know they need on the vehicle machining because of the slight warp resulting in minor pedal pulsation. Then I ask about the pads, "oh, the pads were perfect, don't replace them". Any of you mechanics ever ran into this one? I've got 115,000 miles on my original pads and all four rotors are shot beyond use. I know why the rotors had rust on them, I used phosphoric acid on my rims to remove the rust and didn't fully wash it off the rotors. Any of you ever pay $600.00 to have your 8 spark plugs changed and not get your old plugs back for inspection? Yep right here again. I did however pick up my old cam phasers up off the floor from under the mechanics tool box and took them with me. They were both examined and nothing was found to be worn here either which would have warranted their changing. But alas when an engine is to be torn down to replace the seals that control the oil to the cam phasers that facilitate proper working pressure to the assemblies is necessary for actuation, it is pretty easy to suggest the changing of other expensive critical engine components while it is already apart. What is a customer to do when you are guaranteed over the phone it is necessary. I have many ill feelings for Eric and we will talk about them someday for sure, but this cannot take away from the fact that I was given a purchase price lower than a ford employee discount when I bought the truck, and when I bought the car 5 years later. I shopped around for about a month before buying my car and no one came close to the low purchase price I received here at Apple Valley Ford. Hey just for fun when you are at other dealerships strike up conversations with the service managers (Shakopee Ford). Its great fun you'll find out how they ask (pressure) their mechanics to tell them that the vehicles batteries are worse off than they actually are or that inner tie rods are "getting bad" when a customer comes in for new tires. My Dad told me he used to work with some real "slippery service managers" over the years. But the funny thing is Ford has always come swooping down when nobody was ready for them to be there and caught the managers in the act. It gets ugly for a while and it sucks, all this bad reputation because some dumb-xxx wanted to make his numbers look better, makes the whole outfit look lame and untrustworthy. More
To start the agreed price was not the same at the closing of the deal. ($3000 more) The salesman (Steve)agreed with me. It was the finance guy whom was misleading the whole time. Most of my service issues we of the deal. ($3000 more) The salesman (Steve)agreed with me. It was the finance guy whom was misleading the whole time. Most of my service issues were not taken care of, the clutch, engine noise, pitting of wheels, and trunk leak. Each time I brought the car in I got a different reason for the issues. They even told me when the roof shade tore that I might have to pay for it to be replaced. A rod fell out of place and caught on the shade. At this point I am checking into getting a Lemon Law attorney. I talked to my local Ford dealer and they told me I would have to pay for them to check out the car since it is now out of warranty. This is why I now have interest in talking to a Lemon Law Attorney. I also am contemplating notifying the BBB and Consumer Protection Agency. I have even thought about advertising for Rotten Apple Valley Ford (an apple similar to theirs with WORM coming out of it) on the rear of my cars. Yes I have put some thought into this. I put a lot of heavy traffic miles on each day (100+). I got a call from them once and they left a message. I called them back several times but never got a call back. I did let the contact person know that I was very displeased with their service department. May be why I never got a return call! When ever I had service done they always just wanted to give me a ride to work instead of offering me a loaner. I did ask if I could get a loaner the last time I took the car in and the girl I talked to told me that they didn't do that, their own employees don't even know what is going on. I was shocked that she said that and I told her I wanted her to check on that. She did and told me she was wrong. So I did get one the last time I went in. The prior times I was stuck at work and had no way to go to lunch. And More. More
My car wouldn't start as the battery (less than 2 years old)was dead. The people were great. They took extra time to make sure what was wrong with my car which really made me feel confident driving my Fusi old)was dead. The people were great. They took extra time to make sure what was wrong with my car which really made me feel confident driving my Fusion. They gave me the option of driving me home and then picking me up when my car was ready. They informed me that my car was still under warranty and everything. My original car purchase was a very positive experience and the service was always been great, too. I'm really glad that they're my dealer. I'd recommend and alrealy have recommended this dealership. BEWARE OF SPARKPLUG CHANGES IN THE 2004 F-150 Ford Pickup Truck: After breaking down on I-94, we had our 2004 Ford F-150 pick-up towed to Apple Valley Ford. What started off as a good experience with the Truck: After breaking down on I-94, we had our 2004 Ford F-150 pick-up towed to Apple Valley Ford. What started off as a good experience with their extended Sunday service hours, ended in an extremely bad experience. Cause of breakdown was a bad circuit board which controlled the fuel pump....$400.00. In addition to repairing the circuit board, we discussed with the Service Manager, having the spark plugs changed since the vehicle has 105,000 miles on it. The Manager stated that this was a project you should NEVER attempt yourself as sometimes, in that year Ford F-150, the sparkplugs were a two piece design and they often break off when you attempt to remove them. The sparkplug change job was quoted at $325.00 which we thought was absolutely ridiculous but we agreed to have it done. The Manager went on to say that their Ford Dealership Service Technicians have a special "Extractor Tool" they use in case the sparkplugs do, in fact, break off during removal. What the Manager failed to tell us was that IF their "Special Extractor Tool" fails to be able to remove a broken plug, that the cylinder head would need to be removed to extract the broken sparkplug. Long story short......six of our sparkplugs broke off, their special Extractor Tool could opnly remove five of them resulting in the removal of the cylinder head to remove sparkplug #6. Our $325.00 sparkplug changed ended up costing.....are you ready for this.........$2700.00. The Manager should have informed us of this worst case senario as we had NO IDEA THIS COULD HAPPEN - but he did know about the possibility. BEWARE IF YOU HAVE THIS YEAR OF F-150....Google the problem.....this poor design and the costly repair is being experienced by hundreds of loyal Ford customers.......and Ford knows about it. Ford Service Managers....Be honest with your customers....please tell us the whole truth before we agree to have you perform a service. We were three hours from home and in addition to the cost we incurred, I had to miss three days of work while this repair took place. We never would have agreed to have this work done had we been informed of the possibility of a $2700.00 sparkplug job. We were at your mercy.....and you knew it. More

I called Apple Valley Ford when my rear tire was locking up and wouldnt move. They were able to get my car in for service and have it done for me the next day. When it was noticed my card still was not ac up and wouldnt move. They were able to get my car in for service and have it done for me the next day. When it was noticed my card still was not acting normal I called in again and brought my vehicle in for a checkup. The technician who drove my car noted the same problem I was having. I was given a loaner car that night and my vehicle was fixed the next morning. JC in service is an excellent person to deal with, very friendly and helpful when asking questions or having concerns.
