They took my car and when the work was done Jason told me I can go to the cashier. HE NEVER MENTIONED ANY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. I am used to Jeff, who always discussed any maintenance issues that I needed to know about in the near future. In July I was driving to Wisconsin for a family reunion when I noticed this loud thumping noise when I applied the brakes! Since it was late on Friday I knew service was not available ANYWHERE! I was closer to my destination then home so I kept on going. The scraping noise was concerning AND embarrassing when I pulled up to my cousin's house. I didn't use the car all week. I then had to drive home not knowing what was making the noise but I assumed it was the brakes since it was worse when applying the brakes. I wanted to get into the Apple Service Department that week but there were no appointments available. I requested a service history on my SUV and picked it up that same day. I wanted it in case I needed it for a different repair shop or another dealership. While looking over the service record from June 4th. 2024, I noticed that on the multi-point inspection both rear brake pads FAILED at 1 mm! I did not see the "vehicle health report" until I requested my vehicle history in JULY! WHY WASN'T I TOLD ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE? I guess I expected the same level of service and concern that Jeff displayed over the last decade+!! So I brought my Saturn SUV back to Apple last week for inspection and a quote. Jason had the brakes inspected and came back with a quote of $1,000+ to replace both the front and back brakes! He knocked down the price to $885 when he saw the look on my face plus I don't need new front brakes YET! Additionally he promised to throw in some rebate $ but was vague in how much that could be. And he told me they dont "cut" rotors anymore, they just replace them and that's why it cost so much. So I dont have a minimum of $400 for an unplanned vehicle repair. If Jeff had handled this he would have definitely informed me of the rear brake pads needing replacement in JUNE! I then would've known of this safety issue and would've budgetted and planned for it before driving out of state! As a precaution Jaaon told me to be careful as I have no rear brakes. I informed him that I haven't had any rear brakes for 300+ MILES! I now have been told Jeff has retired after many years of his taking care of me and my SUV! When I purchased this brand new vehicle brand the test drive wasn't given as they were really busy and the finance department was backed up, as well. It was late as I worked that day. When I left the dealership it was after 10 P.M. and they were ready to lock up. D I drove about a mile away and realized there was an issue. I literally couldn't go over 35 MPH! I drove back to the dealership and they were already gone! I had to drive 30 miles to get home. Driving on I-294 in the right hand lane with my flashers on at 35 MPH is very scary! Trucks wizzing by at 70 MPH with their horns blaring is not fun! The SUV had to be towed back to Saturn of Elmhurst the next morning. At least the left- if not BOTH of the rear brakes were locked up. I think this vehicle rear braking system has been bad from the day it left the factory! That being said, there is no excuse for not informing me of the safety report! The only comment that was said to me after my oil change is that I can go to the cashier to pay! I am disappointed that this was overlooked. I just assumed that the service advisor saw that I always see Jeff, knew I wasn't interested in future service from him and therefore just did the basics and he never even looked at the multi-point inspection report. I was planning on my next vehicle being a GM. More

Wait time to service car sucked and had to bring it back another day and had it a long time to put thermostat in and kept overnight to see if still overheating. Was not happy with service department and the another day and had it a long time to put thermostat in and kept overnight to see if still overheating.
