I had reached out early to discuss buying a car and had other salesmen from other dealerships ignore my requests because I wasn't looking to purchase immediately. Nathan's patience earned my business and I would recommend him to anyone else planning on buying a car at Antwerpen. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars (and for this I want to give ZERO stars) is because when Maurice came over to introduce himself, he only shook my boyfriend's hand, and didn't bother to shake mine or introduce himself to me (and I was the SOLE purchaser of the vehicle). I found his behavior both sexist and ignorant and am still confused as to what his purpose was other than to make himself look like a fool. More

OK, first I visited the "Jeep" side of Antwerpen in Catonsville so that's the only part of this dealership I'm reviewing. And my advice is if you want to buy a Jeep DO NOT go to Antwerpen Jeep in Catonsville. Run, Don't Walk, to ANY OTHER JEEP DEALERSHIP IN THE AREA where you'll get A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER SERVICE. First sign of trouble.... I pulled up literally right in front of the front door. I exited my car and started looking at the Jeeps on the lot. One by One I went down the entire line of jeeps looking in the windows, reading the window tags, in full view of everyone sitting around behind the entirely glass fronted building. In 10 minutes of doing this, NO ONE sitting around behind that glass bothered to come out and ask me if I was interested in looking at a particular vehicle or if I wanted to buy a Jeep. Second sign of trouble... I finally walked into the building to see if I could get someone's attention. The guy right by the front door looked up from whatever he was doing and asked if he could help me. To which I responded "Yes, I'm interested in buying a Jeep. I know the model I want and I've even got all the options I want right here" on the piece of paper I handed him. 10 Seconds into looking at what I handed him, his phone rang and he immediately spun away from me and took a call from what sounded like his wife or girlfriend. No "I'm with a customer honey, can I call you back?". Oh, no... He just took his time, had a nice little conversation, and then finally hung up before acknowledging that I was even there again. Third sign of trouble... I said "I've done my homework on all the models and options and I think I know exactly what I want, but I have a few questions". So I asked him "What's the difference between the standard and the max towing package?" His response was, "Uh, I don't know, they all tow 3500 lbs". I said, "Well, then why is it listed as two different options then?". With a confused look he went to www.jeep.com and started trying to find the answer. And when that didn't work, he tried googling the same question, but no hit there either. So he turns back to me and says "They all tow 3500 lbs." This was to be an ongoing theme. I'd ask a relatively simple question, he wouldn't have the first clue, he'd spin around and yell over to the sales managers who wouldn't know either, then he'd spin back, look at jeep.com, then look at Google, then "Punt"... Meaning, he'd just give me his best guess, which ended up being wrong every single time. No one there could tell me anything about options, packages, and they didn't even know how to price a 2018 ?!?!? Fourth sign of trouble... So I said ok, please figure it out and call me with a price, to which he replied, "I'll just email you, I don't like to talk on the phone..." I'm thinking uh, that's a little weird but okayyyy... So I said "When should I expect to hear back from you?" (It's around 1:00 on a Monday). He tells me, "I'll email you back with the price in just a little while." Then without me asking, he reiterates this again, "I'll email you with the price in just a little while..." Final sign of trouble... Monday comes and goes... The dealership was open til 9:00pm that night and I heard him tell the one of the many phone calls he took while I was there that he'd be there late. So in 8 hours time, he couldn't shoot me a one sentence price "via email". Tuesday comes and goes... Wednesday I wake up and STILL nothing in my inbox.... So on Wednesday I drove to another dealership. The sales guy answered all my questions in about 5 minutes, and within 10 minutes he'd already worked up his best price, (which actually beat the price I had calculated that I wanted to pay), and in less that 30 minutes he had taken my deposit and put in all the necessary paperwork to factory order the Jeep I wanted. Bottom line... DON'T TRY TO BUY A JEEP HERE... When you ask a simple question like what's the difference in the number of speakers that come with the standard audio system and the upgraded audio system, and everyone in the room looks at you with a blank stare like you just asked them to calculate the gravitational pull of a black hole in grams per square inch... That's when you need to just back out of the room slowly and go find another place to buy a car. More

When my wife and I initially went in to look for a vehicle, we explained that we would be moving to West Africa in June 17 and there were certain documents that would be needed by the end of May to ensure the vehicle would ship prior to our departure. We provided them a list of documents and was assured by the sales manager that we would have the required documents in the time specified. That did not happen! In the coming weeks I would call and text my sales person and the sales manager and would receive no response. It wasn’t until I threatened to contact the GM, that I received a response from the Sales Manager. At this point we were beyond the deadline in which they promised to have us the necessary documents. A week before I was to depart the U.S., the Sales Manager contacted me and informed me that they had made a mistake on the original invoice and they needed my wife and I to come and sign a new one. The trip was an hour and a half drive, one way and we were having our household goods packed at the time. What a huge inconvenience. The day we went to sign the new document, we were again assured that we would have the final document we needed to ship the vehicle in two days. On the second day following, I contacted the Sales Manager and he informed me that by law, he was not allowed to provide us with the document. I departed the U.S. leaving the vehicle behind. I was furious! Fortunately, circumstances arose that required my wife to come later. I arrived in Africa on 21 June 17 and in the following weeks attempted to contact the sales manager on several occasions. While I did speak with him on a few occasions, many of my calls/texts went unanswered. One day out of the blue, I receive a call from Ms. Kim Carter. She informed me that she was the title clerk and she could provide me with the document I needed to ship my vehicle. Within minutes she scanned and emailed me the final document. I forwarded it to my transportation coordinator, coordinated a pickup date with my spouse, and the following week my Jeep was at the port, ready to be shipped to Africa. I really appreciate Ms. Carter stepping in and saving the day. However, I am still curious as to why the sales manager told me that the law prohibited him from providing me the document, when that clearly wasn’t the case. I can only suspect that he did not consult with the SME’s on this issue. With all of that being said, I do not believe that any of this was done with malice. I truly believe that when they made the promise, they did not completely understand what the government required to ship a vehicle overseas. Could they have researched more before making such a commitment? Yes, but what’s done is done and cannot be undone. All of the individuals with whom I dealt were genuinely very good people, whom I feel, after the fact, were diligently working to resolve the issue. However, the non-responses and failure to keep me updated of the status escalated the issue and made it worse than it needed to be. I would definitely do business with this company again and all involved as I believe if presented with this issue again, they would be more than capable of getting the job done. This was a learning lesson for all. I would definitely like to give a special thanks to Ms. Kim Carter. From initial contact until receipt of the tags from Texas DMV, she was extremely courteous and kept me informed at every stage of the process. She is truly the epitome of customer service! More
