My car is a 2013 Chrysler 200, Mopar Vehicle Protection: Plan Number 37931700, Deductible Per Repair $150.00, Start Date 2012-08-28, Expires on 2095-11-27, Deductible Per Repair $150.00, Expiration Mileage Plan Number 37931700, Deductible Per Repair $150.00, Start Date 2012-08-28, Expires on 2095-11-27, Deductible Per Repair $150.00, Expiration Mileage 999999. Lifetime plans have no time limit on mechanical coverage, but only for the original owner. I have brought the car to Antwerpen Chrysler to address the temperature gauge overheating three times. On July 16, I called the Antwerpen Chrysler service department to report that my temperature gauge overheated. I was told to bring my car to the service department Saturday and not told to set an appointment. The service department opened at 8:00 AM Saturday. I brought the car in at 9:30 AM Saturday morning. The service department informed me that if they could not diagnose the problem then they would "try" to get it on Monday. A member of their service department informed me that if I did not leave the car at the dealership and further drove it and if the car overheats and possibly causes damage, then my Mopar Vehicle Protection would not cover the repairs. On July 20, I opened a case with Chrysler US Customer Care because members of the service department did not diagnose my car as promised and further refused to adequately answer or deliberately did not respond: Chrysler Case Manager: Tina, Stellantis Specialist, 1-866-932-3873, Ext 3020489 The Antwerpen service department continually evade answering my questions by responding with answers that requires more questions such as the following exchange: Me: When will you diagnose my car? Antwerpen: I will try to get it in a week or 2 from now. Me: What is preventing you from working on my car? Antwerpen: There is a car ahead of yours. Me: Where would a single car hold my car up for 2 weeks? Antwerpen: It’s a transmission job. Me: What is wrong with the transmission that takes 80 hours of work? Antwerpen: We only have one lift designated for warranty work and you have to wait. Me: That does not answer my question; If you have to wait for parts or a specialist, then why can't you move the car and put my car on the lift. Antwerpen: We are going to keep the car where it is not to separate the parts from the car. Me: That makes no sense to me - If your parts are taken off, then they are contained and could be moved as well; Why can't you move both? Antwerpen: I have to go. You can check back with us . Me: I am simply asking questions to probe why you are not working on my car in a reasonable time and I deserve to know why this one car is holding my car up for weeks just to diagnose the problem, not to actually repair the problem. What is the problem with the transmission? Antwerpen: This conversation is over. Me: This makes no sense to...click. Antwerpen: Hung up in my face. I am repeatedly forced to endure this type of ridiculous and abusive back and forth exchange every time that I call their service department. It seems as if they are building lies on top of lies. Within the past week, I have been hung-up on twice. There are 3 Antwerpen service centers within close proximity of the Chrysler dealership which what appears to be 10-15 car lifts at each location: 6440 (2) & 5717 (1) Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD 21228. They have serviced my car at 6440 and 5717 in the past. Covid has shown us that we can be called to leave this Earth any moment. We neither know the time nor day. If any dog-gone thing, we should respect life more than ever. Running a business in Maryland is a privilege, not a flippin' right. It is down-right despicable when businesses actually get joy and line their pockets by disrespecting life during this new ego of Covid. This stuff is wild...I can not fathom this happening during an international pandemic where people were lined for blocks to get free food to just live. For some of us who only have one vehicle like me, our car is the difference between making ends-meat and homelessness. Now, I am justifiably concerned that they are going to sabotage my car. This dealership is treating this a flippin' joke. Again, running a business in Maryland is a privilege, not a flippin' right. If you are paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars to keep a car running, nobody deserves to be lied to, blatantly disrespected, and hung-up on. At the end of the day, screwing over the community during Covid takes bad business to a whole new level. If Antwerpen is not thrilled and excited about servicing cars within the community, then they need to get out of the servicing cars business. That's the bottom line. More
The mechanical work on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland was very good. The customer service department needs attention, especially in the area of communications. It took 4 phone calls to get a live rep aft was very good. The customer service department needs attention, especially in the area of communications. It took 4 phone calls to get a live rep after being put on hold 3 times and being cutoff 1 time. This level of difficulty will cause me to seek another Jeep dealer. More
