Blackmailed I took our Grand Caravan in for what I knew would be a lot of warranty service. As I suspected, there was a laundry list of items. Of course our "Life I took our Grand Caravan in for what I knew would be a lot of warranty service. As I suspected, there was a laundry list of items. Of course our "Lifetime warranty" wasn't as good as it was made out to be when we purchased the car. I agreed to have most of the work done, and asked if I could drop the car off on Thursday of the same week because I couldn't go without out a second vehicle all week. They told me I had to leave it that day or pay an exorbitant fee for the vehicle inspection. They then lied and told me that all of the parts needed were in stock and it would only take 1 day. The next day came with a call that informed me that they didn't have the parts and they didn't know when I would have my car back. They will never see my business again, either on the sales floor or the service department. More
Lacks Integrity: Recommends Costly Service Not Needed I brought my Town & Country in for an oil change. They said they'd do a multipoint inspection while they were at it. I said "fine," though I really I brought my Town & Country in for an oil change. They said they'd do a multipoint inspection while they were at it. I said "fine," though I really only wanted a quick full-synthetic oil change. The Service Advisor came out and presented me with a diagnosis of heavy carbon build up that would require a $189 cleaning. Right. I said "no." Then I thought about his recommendation and challenged the Service Advisor and the technician. My engine is only fuel injected, not direct-injected, not turbo charged. I only use Top Tier fuel. I knew the SA was fishing for easy profit at my expense. I asked them to show me the "heavy carbon build-up." They could not. After much pressing, the SA admitted his recommendation was based on mileage and not on any actual carbon build-up. But they would have gladly taken my $189. I chose this dealership with hopes of building a lasting service relationship built on trust. I maintain my vehicles very well and am willing to pay for quality maintenance often ahead of what is normally called for. I'm not cheap, just educated and smart with my money. This SA (and by extension, the dealership) damaged my trust in his ability to conduct business honestly. I now will approach this dealership much more cautiously. I'd like to avoid the dealership altogether, but my thought is they are par for the course, and going to another dealership will just force me to relive this embarrassment with different players. These days, this is just how dealerships conduct business, putting service writers on commission and giving them heavy sales targets to reach. In a lot of ways, the SA is probably just as much a victim as I could have been. This crap starts at the top, with the Antioch Dodge dealership ownership and management. Shameful xxxxxxxx. Here's a novel idea: pay your SA's and techs a decent, living wage, and treat your customers with integrity. More
Poor Customer Service Horrible customer service at this dealership. Not only did they lose my service, they also lost a customer. I work a job that doesn't permit me to us Horrible customer service at this dealership. Not only did they lose my service, they also lost a customer. I work a job that doesn't permit me to use a phone. For 3 weeks straight I tried to contact their service department via their website. For 3 straight weeks I got no response for my service. Gurnee Dodge answered right away and got a new customer. More
Worst Service Department I bought my vehicle in Dodge Schaumburg originally and loved them but then moved to Fox Lake. I wanted to keep getting my oil changes from the dealer I bought my vehicle in Dodge Schaumburg originally and loved them but then moved to Fox Lake. I wanted to keep getting my oil changes from the dealer so I started taking it to Gurnee and they were fine at first but then they changed staff and I was waiting close to 1 1/2 hrs for an oil change. I figured I'd give this place a chance and I expressed my concern with time when I spoke with the service guy on the phone and he assured me they had an appointment for me at a certain time. I went for my oil change and I was right on time but after 2 hrs of waiting I went to ask about the progress of the oil change. They said they hadn't even started on my car yet because it was first come first serve. Now why in the world did the service person on the phone act like he was writing down an appointment when I spoke with him is beyond me even after expressing my disgust with Gurnee not honoring their appointments lately. I ended up leaving because I had to pick up my daughter at daycare, Never ever will I come here again and nor will I recommend it to anyone. More
