This review is LONG overdue, but I had to share my experience. I am so glad I found this site! I live and work near Bowie, so when my car broke down and I was looking for a new Sonata (or Elantra) experience. I am so glad I found this site! I live and work near Bowie, so when my car broke down and I was looking for a new Sonata (or Elantra), I went to Bowie Hyundai. After walking around the lot for almost 20 minutes, I decided to go inside to see if I could take a test drive. It was about 8:05, and before my salesman introduced himself, he informed me that they were closing at 9, and asked if I was buying a car tonight or not. I had never bought a car (or even been to a dealership before), and this experience made me very uncomfortable. He pointed out a few cars, before going back inside to introduce me to his sales manager. The manager was extremely rude and arrogant, and kept asking me why I wouldn't buy a car today (I hadn't even driven one yet). Frustrated, gave me his business card, and I left without really accomplishing much. I threw his business card in the trash and left. I loved the style of the Sonata, and heard so many great things about Hyundai, so I didn't want to give up. The next day at work, I was looking at other dealers in the area, and came across this website. After seeing the sales ratings, and seeing that it's not much farther away, I decided to make the trip to Annapolis after work. David welcomed me almost immediately, with a smile and a handshake, and his demeanor was very calming. Much different than Bowie. I told him I was looking at Sonata's, or maybe an Elantra. We went to his desk where he asked me what I wanted, what was important to me, etc., and I felt he was really listening to my needs. After grabbing the keys to the Elantra and Sonata, I quickly decided the Sonata was a better fit for me, so we went on a test drive. The car we drove had everything I wanted, and at the end of the test drive he asked if I would give it a good home. We had not talked about the payments, so naturally I was very hesitant and nervous. David explained to me that he would work within my budget, and he would do everything he could to make sure I was happy. I had done my research, and I knew exactly what the dealer cost was and what my target price was, so I agreed that I would buy the car if I got the price I wanted. We went back inside, and in a few minutes David came back with his offer- over $500 BELOW TARGET PRICE! And he offered an Eco Bonus rebate I had not even heard about. Since I have read so many horror stories about how long and annoying most car negotiations go, with all of the back and forth, hemming and hawwing, having to pretend like you're leaving to get a good deal, I was shocked at how painless this was. I had also read about how dishonest the Financing Managers are, and how they will pressure you relentlessly to purchase aftermarket products which are a waste of money. Totally the opposite at Annapolis Hyundai. Billy Sadtler introduced himself, completed our contracting work, and offered me a range of options for coverages (and a corresponding payment for each package). He explained all of the options, but I decided to only go with the pre-paid oil changes, so all of my maintenance is included into my payment. After leaving Billy and the finance office, David introduced Mark Wade as the sales manager, and the man who gave me such a great deal. I thanked him for making it such an easy process, and commended the team he has working for him. Mark was extremely sincere and honest, not what you would expect from a car sales manager. He thanked me for my business, and made sure that I had a great experience before I left. David paired my phone to the BlueTooth, showed me all of the bells and whistles(again), and sent me on my way. He called me the next day to make sure everything was OK- what a nice touch. I hope everyone will take my advice and go to ANNAPOLIS HYUNDAI to work with David, Billy and Mark. What a fantastic team, I recommend them wholeheartedly. I love my new Sonata, and will definitely be back when it's time for a new one. CHEERS More
My experience with Annapolis Hyundai was great. I'm a teacher in Anne Arundel county and going through TAAAC, teachers are offered a discount in dealing with the purchasing of new cars. I emailed Paul Brookman and explained my situation. He was accommodating to my needs and my limited budget. I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I knew full well what car and what features I wanted going in and Paul made that happen for me. There was no "haggling" over price. I merely went in, talked with Paul about what I could afford and he made it happen for me. I was very pleased with the service and would recommend Paul to any teachers (or anyone, really) that are looking at purchasing a Hyundai vehicle. Paul is very personable and easy to talk to. I never really felt pressured or pushed, which made me driving away in my new car that much more enjoyable. More
David DiCarlo was the best I could ask for in a car salesman. He really listened and made thoughtful suggestions in line with my requirements, and I decided on a new Sonata. David and Billy Sadtler both worked together to show me many good options, give me a generous trade-in amount, and a terrific older vehicle. They are professional and gallant young men and I recommend them unreservedly. More
David DiCarlo was very knowledgeable and helpful in showing me several styles, as I wasn't sure what could replace my beloved MINI. I ended up with an Elantra GT Hatchback, which was perfect. The first visit I looked at varying cars all over the town, and then came back to Annapolis Hyundai one week later because I was really impressed with the car, the horsepower, the efficient size for city driving and parking. Mark Wade gave me a good price on the MINI trade-in and Billy Sadtler was very helpful in explaining the paperwork, the warranty, etc. Thanks to David for finding the right car, putting in the floor mats and wheel locks. Two purchases in two weeks. Purchased a used car, to turn around 2 weeks later to trade it in for a new car. Work changed, needed more mileage then the crew cab I bought. The salesman David DiCarlo communicated well via email and made the process painless at the dealership. I was introduced to Mark Wade and Billy Stadtler on the first purchase and negotiations on the first purchase were handled in a professional manner. 2nd purchase, trade-in the crew cab I bought 2 weeks earlier for a Hyundai Accent ES Hatchback, yes it fits my hockey gear and I get twice the mileage. David DiCarlo once again fought for me on the trade-in value prior to my arrival, I suffered a monetary loss but Mark and George Sparks were sensitive to my change of situation and were able to put me in the car that fit my budget. I travelled 117 miles (234 miles round trip) to purchase my vehicle from this team. Two local dealerships were not willing to match the offer Mark, George and David put on the table. It goes without saying, they make every effort to ensure your buying experience makes sense, is affordable and that you are driving off with a car that you wanted to buy, not one they tried to sell you. Thanks again all of you for making this such a great deal and experience. I love it, my wife loves it, my kids love it! More
Paul was just what I wanted in a dealer rep. We did all negotiations vie email, I never talked to him until I went in to buy the Sonata GLS. He answered every email question quickly, at all hours every day, with no BS or attempts to up sell me. When I asked for a bottom line, best price including everything, he responded quickly with a "walk out the door price" that beat the other 7 area dealers I was negotiating with by hundreds of dollars. He then found a different color Sonata (my wife changed her mind) with over $1200 in options that he sold at the same price and suggested a way to get all 3 $500 rebates that were being offered, even though we were not going to finance the car, even lowing the price a bit more as an enticement. All this was done without talking to him even once. When we finally went in to buy the car, Paul was super friendly and processed us quickly, explaining every detail about the car and answering every question with no attempts to try to change the quoted price. All in all one of the more pleasant car buying experiences I've ever had. More
