I would not recommend Mr. Meiklejohn nor Annapolis Hyundai….PERIOD. Correspondence with Mr. Meiklejohn reflected his lack of customer service. I received numerous emails - clearly through an algorithm - that did take into account I had already been in touch with him. When I sent him a question about car availability, his return email did not respond to my request. Working with the service department was equally frustrating - it was difficult to make appointments online - and when I went in person, I was chided for not making the appointment online. Future service appointments will be at a different hyundai dealership. More
Many people are talking about the sales team and how nice they are. That's easy. Who wouldn't be nice to you if you are spending $30K for a new car? But I feel the true measure of a dealership is the way the they are. That's easy. Who wouldn't be nice to you if you are spending $30K for a new car? But I feel the true measure of a dealership is the way they treat you once the big purchase has been made One of those areas is the service department. And there is a LOT of room for improvement here. We have been disappointed with the service department at this dealership since the very first time we encountered them. They are poor at communicating - and often do not answer the phone when you call. We had one situation where parts had been ordered and received by the dealership, and they had the parts for a week and still hadn't called me. I happened to stop in personally and ask pointed questions to figure it out. And the reason I stopped in personally goes back to the earlier comment about them being bad at answering the phone or returning voicemails. Once they get the car in the door and get to work, their technicians are competent and the work is performed well, and done right the first time. The biggest problem with the service department is the lack of attention to detail by the people working up front. If they could just get better at answering the phones and following through with agreed-upon plan of action for a customer, it would be a drastic improvement. More
