They explained everything thoroughly and helped me understand that even though my payment was a little more than I wanted to spend it will be beneficial to me in the long run. Seth at the dealership carefully listened to my needs for a new car. He offered many options and I was able to choose from many makes and models. I am more than satisfied with our family's new car. I NEVER complain or make any kind of post like this, however, I know several people who have purchased cars from here. I also have recommended people here and feel I should make them aware. Andy and I p however, I know several people who have purchased cars from here. I also have recommended people here and feel I should make them aware. Andy and I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue from Andy Mohr Nissan brand new last year. We decided we wanted to start looking into a minivan option and found one at a local dealership! When we took the rogue in they found where we had over $4,000 dollars in warranties on the car. At this point I was extremely confused because I specifically remember telling them absolutely not the car is brand new it has enough warranty as it is. HOWEVER, they used an electronic signature system on this fancy table and the guy in finance swiped to the bottom and asked us to sign. My naive self signed and trust what he was saying to be true. Typically a read documents but felt rushed and with the electronic process didn’t get a clear opportunity to read them! So apparently we signed for these warranties. Curiously I check the paperwork for 2021 Kia K5 we bought at this very same dealership and sure enough there’s over 3 thousand dollars worth of added warranties! Infuriated I called and was directed to the general manager after being on hold over two hours. He was extremely dismissive and arrogant. Made comments like “if I hurry you may get the reimbursement check in 4-6 weeks, but that’s only the money left on the warranty” Needless to say I had a big error in not insisting to read the documents before signing. I am aware now that you truly cannot trust the word of anyone because if they see an opportunity to take advantage of you, they will. If you decide to buy from Andy morh Nissan in Avon IN, insist to have a hard copy and read EVERYTHING! And I encourage you to read the Google reviews for their finance department…we are not the only ones who have had this happen to them! *edit* I have made complaints to the better business bureau as well as had an attorney look into documents. The next best thing is word of mouth! More
This was my experience with Andy Mohr Nissan in Avon. I want to start by acknowledging my portion of fault in allowing this to happen. I will also be leaving out specific names purposefully. I put in a r I want to start by acknowledging my portion of fault in allowing this to happen. I will also be leaving out specific names purposefully. I put in a request online for a used truck they had. I received a call the next morning to talk about the truck. She asked if I would have time to come look at it that day, to which I said yes. She scheduled a meeting at 1:00pm that afternoon for me to look at and drive the truck. She also told me (like they all do) that they were “having a sale this weekend only, and that truck is part of the sale.” I hopped online and looked at the truck again to make sure I had all the details, price etc. since it was “on sale.” When I arrived, the truck was unavailable. The salesman told me a service manager was driving it and noticed a coolant leak and it was on the lift getting fixed. They allowed me to look at it on the lift, and said I could come back when it was done if I wanted to. We talked rough numbers before leaving that day because I was still interested. One of the sales managers got involved at that point and I found out the price had magically gone up roughly $1000 that morning. He said “we are fixing it so we had to raise the price. But I’ll honor the price you saw online this morning.” So the “on sale” was the just the standard tactic to get people in the door. I went back a couple days later when it was fixed and drove the truck. I moved forward with purchasing the truck. I went into the finance officers office to sign paperwork and per usual he pushed an extended warranty and another item. I said “I don’t want either of those, I want the truck as we discussed, no add-ons.” He fought back like he was supposed to but ultimately he took them off and put it back to where we had it with no add-ons. That’s where I screwed up. I thought that was the end of it and got complacent. During the signing on the digital desk, per usual, a form would pop up, he would scroll quickly through it and say “sign here, here, initial here…” etc. I thought it was the contract stuff and technically it was. When I got home something didn’t feel right so I went to the thumb drive all the paperwork was on. Not only did he get me with an extended warranty for $2055, he also slipped in a ziebart package for another $1099. I went in the next day to cancel the extended warranty (thankfully I was able to do that). I was met with the same finance officer. When I walked into his office he said “what you don’t want the extended warranty to protect your family.” I said “no, I thought I made it clear when I said yesterday, I don’t want anything you were pitching.” He gave me the form to sign and said “it’s the end of the month so it will take 6-8 weeks for this to process through the warranty company.” I asked “can you tell me anything about this ziebart package I apparently bought?” He said “Yeah, did your sales guy not go over it with you?” I said “nope, I knew nothing about it.” So he did. Unfortunately that one isn’t cancellable so they got me on that one, I’m stuck with it. The document he had me sign for that one says “I want to purchase …. I have been told about ….” So 100% my fault for letting him scroll and just show me where to sign. I’ve always heard Andy Mohr dealerships can be dishonest and deal using questionable ethics (at best) but I gave it a shot. I got a great used truck, but that’s about the only positive experience I had unfortunately. I’m not saying don’t ever deal with them, this is simply a recount of my experience that will prevent me from doing business with them in the future. More
