We inherited a 2005 Prius from a friend who passed away. It hadn't been driven for a while, and it wouldn't start. And because of its age, we had to have all the cells replaced. That was this past sum It hadn't been driven for a while, and it wouldn't start. And because of its age, we had to have all the cells replaced. That was this past summer. The car is mainly for use by my teenagers, primarily my 17 year old. I'm trying to teach him about regular maintenance. So, this service was just for an oil change. It was helpful to have my son accompany me to experience the whole process. Mike was great. And, I had found an extra key fob in the house of the deceased. I didn't know what it was, and it didn't seem to work on the prius. I had gone online and tried to find out if it was possible to reprogram a key fob for a different Prius. Believe it or not, I came across this weird thing called "The Chicken Dance" which goes through this elaborate and unbelievable procedure to reset a key. And, I found reference to this in many places on the Internet. (You'd have to look it up to see why it's called the Chicken Dance). I had already paid, and was going to pick up the car. On my way out, I asked Mike if the Chicken Dance was a real thing. He kind of laughed. He told me that there was a chance that a key fob could be reprogrammed. So, I had him look at it. First Mike suggested that we change the battery. (I guess I should have thought of that). But, then while he changed the battery while I was there - it was not just an easy procedure of sliding open the key fob and putting in a new battery. No, Toyota made changing the battery on a 2005 key fob this elaborate procedure with four very tiny screws. In fact, If I had tried this myself, I would have thought I was doing something wrong, since it seems much more complicated than a current key fob. (Maybe key fobs were kind of new in 2005?). Anyway, Mike had told me it was sometimes possible to reprogram a key fob, but often not. Anyway. after 20 minutes, the key fob with a new battery worked. And despite spending all that time, and giving me a new battery and educating me a bit about Priuses, Mike didn't charge me at all for that. My mom in her later years would take her car to Andrew Toyota about once a year for an oil change. Really, she drove so few miles, that it was all the service she needed. I would often either go with her to do it. I have always been impressed with how well they treated her especially since that was about the only service that she ever required. More

Of course, when I got my car, there was a breakdown in communication between the service department and the technician. They went and did diagnostic work on my car. I did not want them to do. I doubt I will ever use them again. More
