I had been searching for a Subaru Baja which had been discontinued in 2006. To make my search more difficult, I was searching for a Baja with a manual transmission and low mileage for a decent price...almost impossible to find. I found one listed on the website at Anchor Subaru...it was perfect. I emailed the dealership and received a call back in a week, set up an appointment to drive from Boston to RI for the car I had been searching for for months. During my morning drive I received a call from the contact at Anchor to confirm the appointment...all seemed great! Arrived at the dealership, sat down and was notified that the car I had inquired about had been sold the night before. I wondered how someone could make a confirmation call, but fail to look on the lot to see if the vehicle in question was still available...However, he could sell me an automatic baja with more miles for the same price...I said no and started to go to the car. He apologized and made the comment that since it was almost impossible to find a baja with a manual transmission (hence my 40 minute ride to RI) i should look at the other vehicles... Begrudgingly (but in desperate need of a car that was going to get me back and forth to work 40 minutes each way) I walked around and he obnoxiously pushed every single detail of all different kinds of cars at me even though I clearly wasn't in the mood to look at any of them, but I figured, what the heck...let me look at a truck. I was then handed off to Anchor Nissan and dealt with Tim. Tim was a little more easy going and introduced me to a Nissan Frontier with very low mileage and manual transmission...but that was the extent of the vehicle. It had crank windows, ac and a disk player. The price he quoted for the vehicle seemed very high but, not having planned on looking at a Nissan Truck and having only dealt with looking at and researching Toyota's and Fords, I had no clue what was a decent price for it. Making an impulse decision after he slashed the price a couple of times and offered me a decent amount of money for my crappy trade, I left a deposit. When I returned home I looked on the website to locate the truck and do some research on the price only to find out he had quoted me 1was well over what the truck was listed online. To make matters worse, the other Nissan Frontier which was an automatic everything, fully loaded with a multi-disk cd player, alloy wheels, sunroof..etc was listed as the price he quoted me for the simple manual with crank windows. Not only that, but all his "slashing" the price to "help me out" had landed me only a little under what the actual truck was listed as online. After reviewing the prices of the trucks online I realized I was being taken for a ride by Tim and not a good one. I called the next day on a sunday to get my deposit back, he said he would look into it and call me first thing monday morning. By 12 I decided to call him...I told him who it was and he said "I'll refund your money today"...that was it. I had to call again on Wednesday when the deposit still had not been refunded and had to give them my credit card number again so they could credit me back. I finally received it on Friday. The customer service and sliminess of this place is awful. I received ONE "sorry". Sorry for making you drive 40 minutes for nothing...Sorry I confused the vehicle prices...Sorry for being rude and not refunding your deposit for 6 days. Do not go to Anchor Subaru or Nissan...unless you feel like a ride. More
I went in today for the subaru legacy deal they advertised on their site, but only found out from the salesman that had no clue about the sale that it was actually just a bait and switch. They are advertised on their site, but only found out from the salesman that had no clue about the sale that it was actually just a bait and switch. They are sneaky and will try to overcharge you. Do not purchase a vehicle from them. I will never go back there again. More
Anchor is the only place I've bought a car (and I've bought plenty) that doesn't cover the cost of the inspection sticker. When I found this out, I called my salesman to ask for a refund of the one I p bought plenty) that doesn't cover the cost of the inspection sticker. When I found this out, I called my salesman to ask for a refund of the one I purchased. I was told that "it's not their policy" and that "they don't do that". So, I left a message for the manager to call me back, and he blew me off. I called the next week and left another message for him. Again- nothing. When I called a third time, the manager still wouldn't speak to me. He had the salesman call me back and tell me with his flip attitude that I wouldn't be refunded. When I pointed out that I spent $26,000 on a vehicle and that I would be likely to not recommend them to friends, and was very likely to give them an unsatisfactory review, he said "Oh well, it won't be the first bad review"..... And I can see why if that's how they treat cutomers. More
Amazing experience, we developed an issue with our car that other shops could not fix. They were able to fix it the first time, and for a good price. The funny thing is that my car is not even a Subaru, that other shops could not fix. They were able to fix it the first time, and for a good price. The funny thing is that my car is not even a Subaru, they are willing to work on any kind of car. James More
First I must say that the sales team was great at selling me a vehicle, my problem started with the service team and escalated from there. Purchased a used vehicle with 35,000 miles that developed a cold st me a vehicle, my problem started with the service team and escalated from there. Purchased a used vehicle with 35,000 miles that developed a cold start problem. To make a long ( very long ) story short... Dealer was unable to resolve the problem with the car and pretty much just denied it even happens. Dealt directly with the owners in the final days of my ordeal and i'll tell you to stay away from this place. Had no car for 16 day's, 16 consecutive day's ! Was told the vehicle was fixed a couple time but upon arrival to pick it up the following morning's it would just stall on me upon start up, the reason it was there in the first place. Owner tried to tell me I did not have a warranty anymore when in fact I did and was forced to produce my paperwork to prove it, salesman hung up on me when he called several weeks later to see how my car was....don't call me if you don't want to here my problems...yes, they called me and than hung up on me ! No offer for a loaner vehicle of any sort, not even an appology from anyone in the building from service desk to owner...I could go on and on but if you want anymore info contact me. Absolutely Horrible Service!!!!!! dbarras@comcast.net More
