Under any circumstances, I would not recommend purchasing from this dealership. They employ shady, questionable tactics during the purchase process, such as offering to lower your interest rate if you buy a from this dealership. They employ shady, questionable tactics during the purchase process, such as offering to lower your interest rate if you buy a warranty, even with a perfect credit score. I made my deal entirely over the phone, but upon arrival, the terms changed. They refused to accept my vehicle as a trade due to $9500 equity, saying they'd have to buy it outright instead. After involving the owner, Nick Johnson, he admitted this was a common practice with positive equity trades, causing higher sales tax and license fees because the entire sale price of the new vehicle is taxed rather than just the difference after trade-in. This leads to significantly increased costs. I had to reverse the deal and return the car. Despite the headache, Nick tried to make it right, and we purchased a year older car, qualifying for a lower interest rate. They still did fuzzy math on the contract, causing multiple hits on my credit report, delayed payoffs, and financing issues. Additionally, we found a concealed chip on the hood covered with touch-up paint, despite their supposed detailing. The detailer at this dealership is terrible at their job. We felt they made the first deal right aside from the rock chip on the hood. A week after our purchase, there was an active recall, which I suspect was known before our purchase. For my Bronco Two Door purchase, Nick offered to sell it $500 under invoice for the inconvenience. The deal was made via phone, text, and email. Nick assigned his Sales Manager, Jimmie, who lacks people skills and customer service ability. They again manipulated the interest rate to pad their pockets. The new Bronco was garbage with two dents on the hood, poor manufacturing quality, and multiple issues such as water leaks, dangerous driver assistance, rattling doors, and wind noise. When I discovered the dents, their solution was to install a bug shield. Jimmie’s unprofessional response included a comment about not asking technicians to wear rubber suits to avoid damage. This indicated poor service quality. I did not get the Bronco at $500 under invoice as promised. I traded it in after one week and lost $5000 due to its deficiencies. This vehicle should never have been sold. In hindsight, I should never have bought from them after the first deal’s issues. My brother also bought a $95K vehicle from them. If they treat serious buyers like this, how will they treat you? Save yourself the headaches we experienced and buy elsewhere. More

He even went out and took some specific photographs of various places I had questions about on the car and e-mailed them to me. We were able to negotiate a price satisfactory to dealership and myself quickly. All of the necessary purchase paperwork was ready for me when I got there. Since I had my own financing, they gave me all of the information I needed to get my papers arranged before making the trip to Ames. Once in Ames, the dealership was spotless and the staff was very friendly and cordial. I especially liked the table they sat me down at to sign papers. A plugin was available so I could plug in my laptop, connect to their wi-fi, and get my insurance set up before I left. They also filled the gas tank for me before we left the lot. I will definitely do business with Ames Ford Lincoln again in the future. More

I purchased a brand new 2022 ford black widow in December and it I am warning anyone who goes to Ames Ford that they will absolutely screw you over. I purchased a brand new 2022 ford black widow in December and it broke down in February 2023 and they have refused to fix it or take care of me and it’s still sits on their lot today September 12.,2023. They did try to give me a lesser truck that was sold to another gentleman that needed to be up for service not once, but twice within four weeks of him purchasing. a total of 5 1/2 weeks in their shop. Meanwhile, I made all the payments on a truck that was broke down and I continue to make payments as they and Ford Motor Company could care less. I was forced to file a lawsuit because they do not care that I have a brand new truck with 2000 miles on it sitting on their lot that has been sitting there since February of this year. They did not care and parked it under a mulberry tree early spring and summer. Where it was completely covered in Bird feces and mulberries. They are not honest, they will lie to you, and they do NOT care about your situation!! I repeat they do not care about your situation!!!! Since my ordeal I have heard hundreds of similar stories regarding this dealership… Stay away!! More

This dealership does incredible work and has an amazing staff. No matter what problems I have had with my car, they have made sure to get me in quickly and finish my car effectively and efficiently. Absolute xxxxx! !! I have an old Mercury Montego 2005 and I had a transmission flush here in year 2020 and was charged $250. Then 3 months later I was getting an oil !! Then 3 months later I was getting an oil change at LOF Xpress and they said the transmission fluid needs to be changed because there was something wrong with the fluid color. So basically the transmission flush wasn't done right. Then this year, 2022, just a few months ago I did another transmission flush from Ames Ford and they charged me $450. While all other car shops in Ames has transmission flush available for about $250!!! They were trying to xx me that oil prices went up or something. Well, I guess prices went up at Ames Ford only! I don't know whats really going on here! Also, at the same time, I had an AWD issue and they just xx me that they can't fix it and so they just wanted me to get out of there. I said I can pay whatever, but they just didn't wanted to do it. DO NOT go to this place, they will just take your money and you don't even know what they will do to your car inside their shop. Just find some honest mechanic in town and get the job done! More
