We enjoyed Mr. Hughes working with us. He was very nice in helping us work within the amount of money that we were willing to spend on a vehicle. This is our first experience with the Hyundai dealership. in helping us work within the amount of money that we were willing to spend on a vehicle. This is our first experience with the Hyundai dealership. We are looking forward to driving this new car. Again Mr. Hughes is a great saleman and meets the needs of his customers. More
The reason for my rating is because the people we encountered in your store were pretty nice, but the vehicle was not a good deal. We drove two hours to come look at a Ford Excursion. Before we cam encountered in your store were pretty nice, but the vehicle was not a good deal. We drove two hours to come look at a Ford Excursion. Before we came we questioned the sales person about any issues with the truck, we were told there were no problems. When we arrived and drove the truck it did in fact have a belt squeeling and vibration problem at high speeds and upon breaking. The sales person reassured us that it was minor (belt needed lube and break rotors) because of how well your dealership checks out all used vehicles. We were told that if it was anything major it would have been fixed, because the dealership would not sale any vehicle with major issues. He was very believable. We bought the truck. When we took it in to get it looked at we were expecting to have rotor problems and rotate and balance tires. But that was not the case. When they came out to tell me what was wrong with it this was the list machine or new rotors, upper and lower ball joints on both sides, l/h & r/h inner tie rod ends, l/h & r/h sway bar links, sway bar bushings, cam bushings, an alignemt, and rotate and balance tires(or new tires because the damage had really messed up the front two tires). Costing us $1429.11. After fixing that the tires were very rough so we had to replace them costing about $1500.00. Also after getting the truck home about two days later the battery light began to flash. After the truck did not start a few times we had to replace the serpenrine belt(because a chunk was missing), the belt tensioner(it was sticking)and then the alternator costing $912.37. Luberication of the belt did not solve the problem. Those were just the mechinical problems. After getting the truck home we found a seatbelt that was almost cut in half ($361.77) that had to be replaced. (We have four kids need all seat belts). The back latch would not lock, cost $334.99 to fix. And the windshield wiper on drivers side would not spray, $45.71 to fix. The cd player is also broke it has four cd's stuck in it. We have not repaired it yet. So the truck that the sales man kept going on and on about how good of a deal it was and talking to us about how it was a sound truck did not know what he was talking about. After not wanting to buy the truck because we were worried about the problems. He kept reassuring us of the great deal and gave an extra $1000.00 off because that would pay for everything that was wrong. We have spent almost $5000.00 on this truck and every thing is not fixed. Sounds like a lemon to me. We have bought many used vehicle's in the past and this is the first time we have ever had trouble. We live north of Nashville, but are from the Memphis area so therefore we travel thruogh Jackson alot, and know people that shop in Jackson. I would not recommend your dealership to them at this time because I feel like your sales people will say what ever it takes to sale a car, even if they are not right. I do not know where the truth lies but I do know that the statement about your dealership will not sale a vehicle with major problems was not true. Very upsetting. More
I placed an internet inquiry on Thursday, 23 Dec 2010 at approximately 7PM. Much to my surprise, Stephanie Hill called me within 20 minutes of going online and place the inquiry. I spoke to Durran Cage th approximately 7PM. Much to my surprise, Stephanie Hill called me within 20 minutes of going online and place the inquiry. I spoke to Durran Cage that evening and he asked me to come in the next morning. Upon my arrival, I was met by Randy Hughes. He showed the the car I was interested in, answered all my questions, and made the whole buying process a lot easier than I expected. I took possession of the car on Christmas Eve, and went on a 700 mile trip over the weekend. When I returned home, I was called and asked to come by the dealership at my convinence and finish the paperwork. This is a great place to buy a car and a great group of folks to work with. If I decide to buy another car or truck this is the place that I will return to. I am giving this rating because I feel that it is deserved and justified. More

They only color they had was white with a tan interior though and I did not want that combo. They allowed me to drive one of the white ones while they found the color I was looking for. One week later I had the gray with gray and black interior and even got an upgrade for it taking so long to get my color. They were extremly nice and patient and never made us feel any of the usual pressure car dealerships make you feel. I have told all my friends about my great experience and would highly recommend them. More

Larry didn't want to fly he wanted to look all the way down he loves cattle & horses. Randy Hughes was whom I worked with at Gary Mathews. Randy worked with me he came to the house with papers I needed to sign. Randy brought me a van to try out to see if I liked it. Randy had me keep the van all weekend (to try it out). If I expressed a worry to Randy he fixed it even about cost. I needed to have the lift removed from the truck bed and placed in the van. The cost $640.00 Randy and the owner had it done at no cost to me. YES!!! I would deal with Gary Mathews and Randy again. P.S. There wasn't a time that I talked to Randy that he didn't ask about my husband, how I was doing if there was anything he could do to help. My husband didn't make it back to Florida but i will never forget the treatment I got at the dealership. More
This was the BEST car buying experience I have ever had in my life! I have made several new car purchases and was never this satisfied. The salesman went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. I purchased a used Toyota Sequoia and made it very clear that I must know all of the details of what could be wrong with the car before I made a 3.5 hour drive to come look at it. When I got there the fron that I must know all of the details of what could be wrong with the car before I made a 3.5 hour drive to come look at it. When I got there the front bumper was tore up and needed to be replaced. There was no way that the sales person did not see this and knowingly withheld telling me in hopes that I get there and they could sell me on it since I drove 3.5 hours to get there. Then I test drove the car and was lied to by the sales manager about who owned the vehicle prior to Gary Matthews taking possession of it. I over looked these two dishonest items based on I felt the car was in good condition plus the car had a clean CarFax. I later found out that a CarFax really means nothing as the car had been wrecked and painted. My inexperience of knowing about paint and how to "truly" look at a used car is why I bought the car. Knowing what I know now I never would have bought it. Live and learn, however as far as the Gary Matthews people in my book they are nothing, but a bunch of crooks. I later contacted the manager and explained to him what I found out about the vehicle being wrecked and he could care less. Guess I'm stuck with the car now... in my gut I thought about jumping in my car and just driving back. My big mistake... always trust your gut. I would recommend everyone stay as far away from these people as possible. If they will lie to me then they will lie to you and you'll never know what your going to get. I have tried to trade the car and sell it and I can't get half what I paid for it. Live and learn! More
By far the worse buying experience I have ever had. I picked out the car I wanted at 5:00pm I did not leave the dealership till 8:00pm. On top of that I was called 3 days later to find out I had to resig picked out the car I wanted at 5:00pm I did not leave the dealership till 8:00pm. On top of that I was called 3 days later to find out I had to resign the papers! And guess my payments got longer and HIGHER. I did not notice till later that they also raised the price of the car. I will never recommend this xxxxty xxx excuse for a dealership to anyone. As a matter of fact I tell everyone NOT to go to gary matthews. Signed, Daniel Tucker More
