I went to the dealership because Doug knows everything about Alfas. He sold me (well leased me) a Giulia 2 yrs ago. Lease was expiring so I went to visit him at his new location in Strongsville. I have been a fireman for 26 years and this will not be your normal review. We have had negative experiences with dealerships over the last 30 years, so usually buy used, pay cash, and drive into ground. M your normal review. We have had negative experiences with dealerships over the last 30 years, so usually buy used, pay cash, and drive into ground. My wife and I decide to upgrade her vehicle after 13 years. Wife drives Porsche SUV, says it has too many buttons. Look at LandRover, tailgate doesn’t open for salesman, we drive it and wife loves it, tailgate opens, he says they’re finicky. Put 8500 cash and trade in down, tailgate opens for finance guy. heres where it gets interesting. I have been victim to identity theft. Have lock on credit. Rating of 742 equifax, 711 on trans Union(who knows why). Answer questions about me, and…fail. 3Xs! He goes to finance boss…I wait. My phone rings. It’s the captain on duty. He says “Hey, are you trying to buy a car?” I laugh, “Uh, yea! Is that ok?” He says “we got a call from dispatch that some guy who doesn’t look like a fireman is trying to commit fraud!” (Finance guy walks back in office) So they called PD, which called me.” I look at finance guy and ask “You called my dispatch?” He smiles and says “we had to find out.” Fast forward two weeks, drive to Hilton Head for vacation, tailgate doesn’t open. Load everything from side door. Go to LandRover in Hilton Head, they’re booked but state common problem. They see temporary tags and say “You just bought this? Your dealership should’ve taken care of this!”…. I state “I was told they’re finicky.” So… I have a new vehicle that we should’ve been excited to buy after 13 years for 35k but have a tailgate that doesn’t open so I am fixing myself, AND was told I don’t look like a fireman after 26 years! I don’t know how to feel about any of this. Some of the guys said they would’ve walked away. We love the vehicle, but, the whole experience…not so much, hence the 3 star. More
Best service I've had at a dealership! Easy to schedule once I called, and they got me in within a week. Told me it would take an hour, and, true to their word, it was easy and quickly accomplished. 10/10 would recommend working with Doug, any day. His knowledge of the brand/industry and thoughtful communication gave me such confidence in my decision to switch to an Alfa Romeo.
