It was a pleasure doing business with Doug. He was straightforward and fair in his dealings. I purchased a used 2016 BMW from Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville. It was an out of state purchase, so I had to rely on the salesman, many pictures and the expertise of their mechanical staff for the c Strongsville. It was an out of state purchase, so I had to rely on the salesman, many pictures and the expertise of their mechanical staff for the condition of the car. When I arrived the car looked in good shape (what I expected). I took a test drive and looked the car over and it seemed to be in good shape (that said, I am not a mechanic). I had all the documentation from Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville as to what inspections and fixes were done to the car in preparation of the purchase. After purchase of the car, I had a 12 hour drive back home. A few hours into my drive I had to break for traffic when I did, I noticed a pretty significant shimmy and I had been noticing a pull to the right. I texted my salesman as I was driving about the issue. Unfortunately during my test drive, I did not get the car over 50 miles an hour (the shimmy and pull wasn't as noticeable at slower speeds). As soon as I got home, I again contacted Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville and discussed the issue. I took the car into a certified BMW dealership to have them inspect the car for this issue and any other possible issues. Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville told me they completed the brake, rotor and sensor replacement (turned the rotors) for which they sent me the paperwork. The BMW dealership that inspected the car said that the brake, rotors and sensor job was done incorrectly and was the cause of the shimmy and pulling to the right and that it need to be replaced\redone at a cost of $3,600. Also while they were inspecting the car, they found the front tires needed replaced as they were warped badly (original tires, 5 years old) and the back tires where a year newer but needed replaced also, at a cost of $1,600 (run flats). They also stated that the front left rim was bent at $350 to fix (if the could fix it, $900 for a new rim) and after all that was fixed it would need an alignment at $299. I was very surprised and unhappy, I talked to the BMW dealership and got the break repair cost down to $1,650 (still had the rim at $350 and alignment at $299). I contacted Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville and told them and sent them the estimate of the issues and cost. Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville did offer to pay for the negotiated cost of the repair that they did incorrectly. Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville did not work with me on the tire expense which I stated I'd go half with them as their inspection should have shown that the tire wear was below standards? The real bomb came when the BMW dealership during their inspection found a upper oil pan gasket leak at a cost of $4,700 to repair as it was a very time consuming to repair. When I brought this to their attention, I did not hear back from them. I feel like I was deceived. I would think that their certified mechanics once they performed their 50-point inspection (which I had the paperwork was done) would have had to have known that there was a significant oil leak along with all the other items that were in need of repair? They sold me a car that was in need of $10,000 of repair!! I wouldn't have bought the car for the price I did had I known the additional repair costs. Again, I think I was deceived. This was a very shady way to sell a car. Not to mention that Alfa Romeo did some touch up work (or they said they did) of some rock chips for me before I arrived and after the long drive home the car was dirty so I took it to a touchless car wash (one I use all the time) and when I was done paint from the front bumper was missing just flaking off, nothing hit or touched the car. The BMW dealership and my personable body man stated they could see that someone tried to fix the front left bumper (saw all kinds of primer) but did a very poor job and that the front bumper needed to be repainted or it would all flake off at a cost of $1,200, so I had the front bumper repainted. I told Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville about it and they said it was good at their dealership and they would not pay for repainting (or help pay for repainting). So, I am extremely upset, disappointed, feel deceived and taken advantage of by Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying a car from Alfa Romeo Fiat of Strongsville. More
