Emergency Repair Handled Flawlessly I had a warning light for coolant, called late on a Monday night asking if they had any to top of the fluid. Eddie responded right away and came out to top of the coolant. The problem seemed solved. Two days later, I saw the same warning light, and I called in assuming something was wrong and I needed to drop off the car for repair. Eddie was able to fit me in for the next day repair, and he worked with me to get a rental car so I could make it to work the next day. After a day, he promptly called after I got off of work to tell me the problem was a defective water pump that the same dealer installed in the late winter 2015. He told me that the repair was complete and that because of a warranty on the part, VW paid for the repairs. Overall, I had a great experience, prompt and personal service, and my car is back to normal.. In this city, it's great to have a dealer you can depend on for service. Eddie provided some of the best service I've experienced at any auto repair shop. More

The salesman, Brett Alexander, was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly during the two days my husband and I came in and talked over the phone. I was exceedingly happy and thought that this truly was an amazing experience getting a car from a dealership. Before proceeding with the paperwork we wanted to confirm that all the fess and taxes were rolled in and there would be no additional fees, no one likes surprises right? Not only were we assured by Brett, but also confirmed by another sales person on Sunday evening, that what we were seeing on the paper was the final numbers; they were "open-book" there at Alexandria VW. However, when my husband and I are signing the documents there was an additional fee on the contract no one mentioned before. My understanding is that this is a "corporate fee" and there is nothing that they could do to waive the fee. That is when we asked to talk to a manager, to help explain why this fee was NOW just being explained to us. The GM, Andy, came into the the office and made it clear that there was nothing he could or would do about it and stated "if you don't like that, then we can can tear this contract and bring in the next people ready to sign, because its getting late." Now I don't know about you, but I expect a little customer service when I am purchasing a car from a dealership. A simple explanation of the fee, an apology for letting TWO salesmen confirm that there were no additional fees coming our way, and some time to discuss with my husband would have sufficed, but instead we were asked to leave the room like our business wasn't good enough and we weren't worth the time or effort. At the end of the day, I made a decision that my time and effort in looking for a new vehicle was worth more than making a point of walking out. I went back into the office and signed the paperwork, and Brett actually stayed with me until that was finished. He apologized for not mentioning the fee and so did the financial person. However, there was no apologies from the GENERAL MANAGER for his rudeness and lack of customer service. For that, I will make sure to make it a point to tell EVERYONE that I know and make sure they tell everyone they know NOT to go to Alexandria Volkswagen to get your car. More

The finance manager was EXCELLENT with her level of assistance and customer service. All around a positive experience and a dealership we will highly recommend. More

While in the waiting area, I chatted with another customer who has brought her car(s) to your service department for years and has always been pleased. That was good to hear! Frustrating experience What is supposed to be the most frustarting part of buying a car (the actual negotiating and purchase) was actually the easiest. 4 months after purch What is supposed to be the most frustarting part of buying a car (the actual negotiating and purchase) was actually the easiest. 4 months after purchasing, I get a $700 bill for excessive wear and tear on my lease. After asking two sales agents about my turn in, they both assured me that my car looked great and nothing looked excessive. I asked if I needed an additional inspection (it was my first lease with VW) and they said no. What seemed like foreshadowing, when I called the dealer to address this, my calls went unanswered and my messages unreturned. 8 months after purchasing, the finance/tag and title department continues to frustrate me. After my original tags and registration were lost in the mail, it took Deborah well over 4 months to address the situation. Numerous phone calls went unanswered, emails unreturned, and then there was the blame for having told me things previously, where there was no written record. After 4 months of waiting, her solution was for me to go to the DMV myself. Ummm, I could have done that 4 months ago. Fast forward 7 months, and I get a ticket for not having an inspection sticker on my car, which should have come from the dealer since it was a new car. Put a phone call in and am still waiting to hear back on what the dealer will do to remediate the sticker and the $50 ticket. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone at this dealer. I will definitely not be returning in the future. More
