My first impression of the dealership was that it was a dump. The worst looking Volkswagen dealership that I have ever seen... Honest... My wife even commented as we were pulling in, "Are you sure this dump. The worst looking Volkswagen dealership that I have ever seen... Honest... My wife even commented as we were pulling in, "Are you sure this is a real VW dealer"? Anyway, no big deal.. Maybe this is why they sell their cars so cheap...? So.... I was interested in a Used 2018 VW GTI w/ 6,659 miles listed by this dealer. It was a good price and the pictures looked good. I contacted a sales rep with this dealer and we began discussing the terms of the deal. We agreed on the "Out the Door" price and set up an appointment for the following day. The sales person assured me that the car was immaculate. I was concerned that a car of this age and low mileage should be Pre-Owned Certified. So my question was just that. The Sales Manager said that the only reason this car wasn't CPO was that the exhaust had been modified. He also said that the car was spotless and unable to differentiate from new...... I DROVE 4 HOURS to purchase this car. As soon as I pulled onto the lot, I could see damage on this car. It had a big dent in the hood. It also had body damage on below the passenger door that was almost bent into the door cavity. In the same place but on the driver's side there was identical damage except, they had unsuccessfully tried to "Bondo" the gaping dent. They obviously tried to cover that up with white paint because the overspray was all over the tires and the fender well. I drove 4 hours for this... When I confronted the Pre-Owned Inventory Manager about the condition of this car and the lies that were told to make me travel 8 hours round trip, he didn't even apologize. Not even a single "I'm sorry". Nothing..... He had a smug "It is what it is" attitude and he acted as if my time was meaningless. His name was Marcello Grimaldi. I guess in the end he did me a favor because I was so mad when I left that I went to the closest Subaru dealer and purchased a new WRX.... For those that have read this far... Please understand that I am not one to bash anyone. I normally won't spend the time or effort to write reviews. In fact, this is my first ever... This experience negatively effected to the point that I felt like I had to. If Volkswagen would like to contact me I would love to speak to them.... Or maybe I should contact them...? More
