Frankly, I don’t generaly like to write reviews, but, I felt compelled after my service experience at Alexandria VW. while this was not my first service experience with the dealership, my other 5 or so e felt compelled after my service experience at Alexandria VW. while this was not my first service experience with the dealership, my other 5 or so experiences there left me equally disappointed. Needless to say, this will be my final visit to their service department. Today, I was met by Kevin Alvarado, the service department representative, who seemed completely disinterested when I approached the counter. When I mentioned I had an appointment for an oil change and had a coupon from their website for service specials, he immediately told me the special did not apply to my car. Rather than the $79 oil change special, I would have to pay $140+. I reminded him that i had used the service special last year without a problem, he thought for a moment and said, “Well, the prices have gone up”. Clearly not the case and When I asked him to explain, he seemed annoyed and told me I could go next door to Jiffy Lube (I think?) and could get it there cheaper. I was surprised by his response and reviewed the service special description with him where no exclusion of my vehicle was mentioned. He was curt and dismissive and Repeated his earlier response that the special did not include my car. Having No options, I agreed and asked when the car would be ready. He said he could not be sure, but if I was in a hurry, the Jiffy Lube next door does the oil change in ten minutes, and…..I could go there. 2 1/2 hours later my car was ready. The outside had gone thru a quick wash but the drivers seat, door and floor mats were filthy…. When I checked the oil level, it was short a half a quart or more. Need I say more? More
