Although I have yet to decide on a vehicle, Rob. R has been the most helpful sales associate that I’ve worked with thus far in my search! He’s quite knowledgeable about his trade, and he made me feel very comfortable throughout this part of my journey. Not only did he have a slew of options for my specific vehicle make, but also provided other options that hit my criteria to a “T” and made me take a second look without making me feel overwhelmed. Keep up the great work! More
I went to test drive a vehicle yesterday at Alexandria VW & I had a very unpleasant experience with this dealership. My first interaction with the salesman I spoke to over the phone (Sorrell Carter) was not & I had a very unpleasant experience with this dealership. My first interaction with the salesman I spoke to over the phone (Sorrell Carter) was not the type of customer service that I would expect. Upon my arrival, he thought it was funny to say “oh, we sold the car” & laughed after saying he was just kidding. His manager (name unknown) never formally introduced himself but also commented as if he was in on the “joke”. From the start after walking in, I felt pressured & very uncomfortable by the sales attics they used. I test drove the car & after arriving back at the dealership I was asked to sign that we went over the CARFAX report, yet I never received a copy. Then I proceeded to apply for financing with them. I was 1st told I was denied, then a woman in their finance says she was able to get me approved at 14% APR which was ridiculous. She also never formally introduced herself. After magically getting approved, I was told if I didn’t finance with them, I would have to pay an additional $2k on the car I test drove. On top of that, I was being rushed into making a decision & I went to call my bank to re-apply with them for more money for my used car loan than I was originally approved for & while I’m dealing with that, I continued to get called to the finance lady’s office & the salesman (Sorrell) kept hassling me while I’m on the phone after I told them I’m going to weigh my options. He had a “do you want the car or not attitude & if you don’t finance with us you’ll pay alot more money”. I was alone yet my husband was on the phone majority of the time listening to them going back /forth. After I got approval from my bank, they were asking me for $1,000 that would supposedly go toward my down payment to “hold” the car even though they had to repair the broken left mirror & I wasn’t willing to drive it off the lot Until it was fixed. They told me it would take until Monday to repair it. I asked them why I couldn’t come back in the morning but they wouldn’t accept it. I called my grandmother bc she was nearby to have some support in person & so she could hear their reasoning for requesting the money before any paperwork or anything else was done. Apparently, they had other deals going on meanwhile I’m sitting there trying to figure out what their intentions are. After some time, before my grandmother could get there—Sorrells manager (name unknown) comes in there & says “Sorry, but the car is now sold”. I was in shock, yet relieved I didn’t give them a dime! It was a complete waste of time & the salesman called/text me afterwards trying to displace blame. He also didn’t bother to apologize bc it wasn’t “his sale” I guess he felt he did NOTHING wrong allowing his customer to be treated in such a disrespectful callous manner. I do NOT recommend buying from them. No Car is worth your dignity. I’m glad I held my composure & gracefully walked out. If you decide to go to that place; record everything! Get all names, & copies & don’t sign anything without taking pictures 1st in case they don’t give you a copy. Lastly, do NOT go alone! More
