Low ethical standards The price of an oil change on my Grand Cherokee ecodiesel has went from $69 to a crazy $211 in October 2019 (My wife’s BMW with synthetic oil and a 15 The price of an oil change on my Grand Cherokee ecodiesel has went from $69 to a crazy $211 in October 2019 (My wife’s BMW with synthetic oil and a 15000 mile interval costs $80). The price of oil has went down and the oil change process hasn’t changed, so it’s all profit for the dealer. Jeep gets away with this by charging an exorbitant price for their only specified filter and synthetic oil, making it less feasible for independent mechanics to do the service. The service manager admits he cringes when he gives customers the bill, but, instead of doing the ethical thing and charging a reasonable price he just shrugs. More
