Out of sight is out of mind I've been to this dealer for service many times before and switched to it from the other option in lower Westchester where I'd purchased the car, and I've been to this dealer for service many times before and switched to it from the other option in lower Westchester where I'd purchased the car, and where the service itself was substandard (the other place was very cramped, and they actually damaged the body on the brand new car and they always close early!) I made an appointment this go round two weeks out, which was the first available date for a B1 service. For the first time ever, since I had an early meeting in the city, I opted to do the early drop off. That was the mistake. I dropped the car at 7 a.m. and hustled to catch the 7:19 at Larchmont. The valet had just arrived and was setting up, and he took my key. Well guess what, no one even looked at my car, nor had it even been logged in, until I called to check on it at 3 p.m. They had to go and find it at that point. So now they took a look and now the car needs a routine diagnostic (for which I will be charged with no give back when I opt for additional service...what ever happened to "we charge for the diagnostic but that comes back to you when you do the service here"?) which cannot be done until tomorrow because the technicians have gone home for the day. Now I'm scrambling to adjust my schedule tomorrow to accommodate for work plans without the car. I didn't sense any sympathy. The service quality here in the past was fine in my experience. I'd worked with Vanessa in the past but the reservation for service this time was assigned to someone named Jose Sabala. Honestly, I don't need a "personal" account rep. I just wanted the car serviced within a day. I shouldn't have to babysit a car dealership's service team and call to be sure they had the car and were going to service it. I had an appointment that I'd confirmed and I gave the key to a member of the service team. The oversight is on them and they should make it up. I've had much better luck when I take a day off from work and wait for service. Unfortunately, the waiting area isn't really optimal for doing work, so I kind of feel like I need to burn a vacation day--but really, should that be necessary? And the other downside to waiting is that they make note that you are waiting and start sending texts inviting you upstairs to the showroom to look at new cars. Don't do the unattended early drop off, just don't. And if you leave the car, even for a full 12-hours, set your calendar to remind you to call them about an hour after you drop off to be sure they're looking at your car. Out of sight is out of mind! I had to reschedule my appointment 3 times before they took my car, and the service person was very apologetic that they overbooked..three days in a row! Yeah, you can leave your car, don't know when we'll get to it, and uh, no loaner available... no thank you. Just tell me when you have time to work on my car. I'll wait. It was very disorganized too. Months later, my husband made an appointment through their website with a loaner for his car to be serviced and had to wait three weeks to get an appointment with a loaner, which he was willing to do. They called him the DAY BEFORE the appointment to tell him they didn't have a loaner for him despite having a loaner confirmed by email. The service department just doesn't function correctly. They can't book so many clients for the same day. Very frustrating and it leaves a bad taste. Thinking about going to Curry for service. Maybe they actually get clients in when they say they will. Acura of Westchester never used to be like this, and we've been going there for over 15 years. More

This kind sou I need to give a 5 star review to an amazing woman named Michelle Willoughby who works in the parts department at Acura of Westchester. This kind soul went above and beyond to help me when my battery died while I was at the park with my daughter. It was totally my fault (long story). Point is it was getting dark and starting to pour and I called for roadside assistance and tried to give them my location… after an hour or so they called and said they couldn’t find me. In a panic I hung up and called Acura of Westchester and asked for the parts dept. It was pretty late so when I was connected no one picked up. I called back and told the receptionist my situation. She then connected me with Michelle Willoughby. By this point I was hysterically crying, nervous and frustrated in a dark rainy parking lot with my 8 yr old daughter who was also upset. Michelle patiently listened, calmed me down, and reassured me she would take care of everything. She absolutely did and stayed on the line with me the whole time until roadside arrived. I couldn’t be more grateful. People like her make Acura of Westchester a great place. More
