As always very satisfied with the service, Brent Lacapria was very personable and thorough. He kept us in the loop the whole time he worked on the car. My wife and I have no complaints. When a family member needed a new wiper blade, service reps Nadine & Meghan listened patiently while I explained how his earlier visit resulted in a partial fix. EXTREME NEGLIGENCE COULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY:Took EXTREME NEGLIGENCE COULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY: Took 2018 Highlander Hybrid in for routine 5000 mile maintenance and a state inspection on Friday 6 EXTREME NEGLIGENCE COULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY: Took 2018 Highlander Hybrid in for routine 5000 mile maintenance and a state inspection on Friday 6/4/2021. Drove car home and didn't drive again until my family went to the zoo without me (~30 mi away) on Sunday 6/6/2021. On the way back from the zoo, the car began shaking and thumping. My wife and father-in-law were unable to diagnose the issue on the road, so continued to drive the rest of the way home slowly. Once I saw the car, I drove it ~150ft at less than 10mph and saw one of the front driver wheel nuts fall off the stud into the road. Stopped the car immediately and proceeded to re-attach the fallen nut and tighten the other 4. The other 4 were hanging on by ~4 threads and were loose by hand. The car was proabably ~500ft from losing all 5 lug nuts and the wheel entirely. If that had happened on the highway, I don't even want to imagine what would've happened to my entire family. We are fortunate to have avoided a true catastrophe, but had my wife taken a slightly different route or had I not been mechanically-inclined, something much, much worse could have happened. I wanted to let everyone here know to be very picky when choosing a mechanic to take care of a vehicle that is responsible for the most precious things in your life. Please take care of your car, and if you choose to get service here, check the tightness of all 4 of your wheel's lug nuts before you leave with the included lug wrench in your vehicle... I will never make this mistake again. Clearly, a service technician at Acton Toyota put on the wheel lugs by hand and forgot to tighten the ones on the drivers front wheel and could have caused a catastrophe, not only for my family but for others on the road (imagine an out of control tire bouncing down the oncoming traffic lane at you at 70 mph). While I understand volume may be high, this is a critical procedure that is probably performed hundreds of times per day at this dealership, and there NEEDS to be a better QC process in place to ensure that cars are leaving the dealership in a safe way. I have tried to contact the dealership on Monday morning 6/7/2021 (closed Sunday) to alert them of their QC issues and to see what could be done about the potential damage to my wheel, hub, lug nuts, wheel studs, and potentially brake calipers and discs, but have not been able to reach a service manager after 3 attempts... I was planning to write this review after seeing how they responded to my situation, but am writing it now while waiting for a call back from the service manager who's number went to voicemail after being transferred from the receptionist. More
Kimberly Portillo took good care of me. Her estimated time of service was close. She explained the procedure for ordering and servicing wheel mud flaps. Kimberly explained what was done during the car maintenance service, especially the power steering problem I experienced once for about 7-9 minutes. Overall, I am very pleased with the way that Kimberly handled my 15K mile maintenance service and the time it took to perform it. Jean-Paul More
