Why did they tell me I absolutely needed over $6,000 worth of repairs, but none of the 5 other garages (including another Toyota dealership) I've been to since then have agreed? My Lucerne had gas fumes. Its dealer was fully booked, so I took it to my former dealer, Acton Toyota, last Fri. pm. Not only were they able to look at it next day, they had a Its dealer was fully booked, so I took it to my former dealer, Acton Toyota, last Fri. pm. Not only were they able to look at it next day, they had a rental program. On Mon., after the svc. crew found leaky fuel lines, Miguel strongly recommended I take the car to Colonial Chevrolet, for they had certified mechanics for American cars w/ this kind of problem. He had dealt w/ them before, and felt confident they could fix it safely and less expensively. He didn't charge for any svc., not even for diagnostic analysis. He even spoke to Alicia, who issued the rental Corolla to me ( a pleasure to drive a nice, fumeless car for a couple days!), and they agreed to deduct a day's rent (for the day the car sat waiting for inspection). How about that?! Instead of grasping for my business, Miguel sends me to another dealer, not only to save me money, but w/ my safety in mind. Thank you, Miguel and Alicia!! More
