I just bought a 2009 Toyota Corolla, and am very pleased with how smoothly the whole process went. Wellington was wonderful to work with. He was very relaxed and patient, with none of the usual high press with how smoothly the whole process went. Wellington was wonderful to work with. He was very relaxed and patient, with none of the usual high pressure sales tactics. He went over all the numbers with me, and it checked out with the research I had done online, so I was comfortable reaching an agreement that day. When I picked up the car, Wellington spent more time going over the features of the car, to make sure we hadn't missed anything during the test drive. He really did everything he could to make sure I was happy. Joe Tosi was very nice, but gave the usual hard sell pitch for the extended warranty. I'm still not convinced that extended warranties are worth the money, but he was willing to cut the price of the warranty in half, so I agreed. I bought a Corolla because of it's reliability ratings, and because my 1994 Geo Prizm (same as the Corolla) lasted 15 years with only two repairs that weren't regular maintenance. Time will tell if the warranty was worth the money this time. I know that most other Toyota dealers in Mass. offer a prepaid maintenance plan, which sounds a lot more useful than an extended warranty. Why doesn't Acton Toyota participate in that plan? Despite the haggling over the warranty, this was the easiest car purchase I've ever experienced. Thanks again! More
If you have any kind of business sense you've probably walked into a business, thought "I could run a better business than these guys", and then proceeded to mentally note what could be improved. You will walked into a business, thought "I could run a better business than these guys", and then proceeded to mentally note what could be improved. You will not come close to getting that feeling at Acton Toyota. I would characterize the sales process as professional, competent, and well-run. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and got assigned to Steve Augusta. I found him comfortable to work with - laid back and knowledgeable. The dealership is located between a highway (495) and some curvy back roads so the test drive (Scion xB) was able to mix things up. Pulled back into the dealership where we walked around the car and Steve explained the different features. To be honest, after a while my eyes glazed over. If you do want to know everything about the car you're buying, Steve probably has that information. So we sat down to talk business. My buying was dependent on what kind of trade-in I could get. Of course you're always going to get more money selling a car yourself than trading it in. The question becomes how much is the difference in time, hassle, and money worth to you. I wasn't thrilled with the offer (is anybody?) but Steve managed to find the point right above where I would've kept the car and sold it myself. Uncanny. Good for Acton Toyota. I might've done better for myself but that's the fun of car negotiations. Steve goes to the back office and comes back with the "We can give you this offer but only if you buy today" cliche, which salesmen are unable to resist. I don't mind it and it's easy to understand why it's done, but I know that tactic drives some people nuts. I was ready to buy and thought about the offer for a couple of seconds. Deal! Paperwork gets filled out. They've got a checklist of some sort which they run through to make sure nothing is missed, which is sensible. After finishing up with Steve, who I feel I let down by not asking more questions, I'm sent over to Joe Tosi in Finance. We figure out the financing. More paperwork. Joe runs through the additional options I can purchase. He's extremely thorough in explaining what's available, what it does, and why one should consider buying it. Any decisions made here are not due to a lack of information. He's also got a subtle sense of humor which I found amusing. There's a crayon Spongebob drawing hanging up on his wall which he claims his son did. Personally, I think he colored it himself on a slow day. Finance checklist complete, I'm done for the day. The following Tuesday I arrive to pick up the car. Keys, owner's manuals on Steve's desk, we're almost there. He explains a few more things, we schedule a service appointment, and he then goes to pull the plates from my old car to put on the new one. While Steve is exchanging plates, a sales manager introduces himself and gives me a tour of the facility. It's huge and gorgeous. Tour finished. License plate exchange finished. I'm good to go. Steve walks me around the car for an inspection, asks me for more questions of which I have none, graciously thanks me, and I'm away. If you're not consciously looking for how the business is run, you will probably not notice or think about how much thought and effort is put in behind the scenes to make the buying process as seamless as possible - which is pretty much the idea. Everything from the checklists to something as seemingly minor as having the Sales Manager give a tour while the salesman exchanges plates (a nice touch btw), is not an accident and has to have been the result of continually examining how they do things and learning from mistakes. Very professionally run. As I was driving away I thought "This is what car buying should be like in 2009." More
E-mailed sales department with what I wanted to buy and vehicle I had to trade along with price I wanted to pay. Received back an e-mail with all the costs and request to call Bob Rabb to set-up an appoint vehicle I had to trade along with price I wanted to pay. Received back an e-mail with all the costs and request to call Bob Rabb to set-up an appointment. We drove out to Acton Toyota that night and the vehicle we wanted was sitting outside waiting for us to look at. An appraiser looked at our van while we looked at new Sienna. Within 30 minutes we were signing the paperwork for the new Sienna for exactly what was quoted to us in the e-mail. No high pressure sales, no high pressure trying to get us to buy add-ons, just plain straight talk!!! We would highly recommend this dealer. More
The 2009 Camry is the second car I bought from Acton Toyota (the first was 97 Camry which we still keep and is in great running condition). Also, occasionally bring my car to the dealership for service. All my experience during all those years was very positive – easy to make appointments, fast service, no pushing, reasonable (for a dealership) prices. I took delivery of the 2009 Camry yesterday. Overall buying experience was very good – prompt responds via emails, friendly sales professionals ( the sales person name is Kevin Townshend, Financial Manager – Keith Mobley who I know for years). Both Kevin and Keith were very nice, easy to deal with, friendly and ready answer all questions I has. I would definitely recommend Acton Toyota to anyone who is on the market for buying a car or for servicing existing one. The rating above summarizes my twelve year long experience with Acton Toyota. Quick process and we would totally recommend the dealership, Juliana and the internet process since it worked out so well for our busy family! More
Lovely dealership in the middle of nowhere. Would have loved to have bought from them, but their management estimated my trade in several thousands less than where I eventually bought (was rather insulted loved to have bought from them, but their management estimated my trade in several thousands less than where I eventually bought (was rather insulted by the low offer). Salesrep was very nice and it was probably not his fault. The place was very busy on weekends and wound up waiting awhile to hear their "great" trade in offer amount. If it was even close to respectable, I would have bought from them, but they let good money walk. They may argue that the price at the dealership I eventually bought from gave a higher trade in value because they may have inflated their prices, but that was not the case. The management at the other dealership understood that you don't have to win every battle. They were willing to concessions to keep me coming back in the future as a happy customer rather than squeeze every dollar out each time at Littleton. I got lower preowned mileage on the vehicle (same vehicle year and model)I wound up buying which was several thousand miles lower than anything currently available at Littleton plus certification through Toyota. Another annoyance were the numerous precanned emails simulating care and concern: ie. warning you of other dealerships, this that and the other thing. People can read through this. It's called SPAM. The warning of other dealerships led me to check out this dealerrater site due to their incessant emails. No surprise, there are so many reviews of Littleton, because no other dealership cares to pump themselves up in this manner. In fact, where I purchased had the same grade as Littleton - confirming I had made the right choice for my situation. In all, still a nice place to shop though way out in the boondogs. They have good selection and probably nice service given the new facilities. Just because they are the big gorilla in town doesn't mean they should think they can get away with unreasonable offers from people who would like to do business in a respectable way. I've been loyal to the BMW dealership I've dealt with for the past 10 years (started with 330xi through 530i through 2 X5s). I will likely do the same for the MB dealership I just bought an 08 GL 450 in December, and now the Toyota dealership down south of Littleton for realizing that fairness keeps loyalty. It's a recession, wake up Littleton. More
By far the cleanest dealership we have ever been to. Everyone friendly but not pushy. Steve was easy to get in touch with (as we made the deal over the phone/internet) and followed through on everything Everyone friendly but not pushy. Steve was easy to get in touch with (as we made the deal over the phone/internet) and followed through on everything he told us on the phone...no hidden fees. Steve matched the deal we were going to get at a different dealership (which we had gone the week before but left due to attitude and lies)He was also down to earth and very informative...he took the time to make sure we got an indepth tour of the Rav4 we purchased. Even after a very stressful mix-up (on our end) of paperwork and registration, everyone remained polite and helped us through to make it work even after it meant doing the paperwork all over again. My husband and I recently purchased a Toyota Camry SE @ Acton Toyota. The customer satisfaction exceeded our expectations. Though I will admit I wasnot the most pleasant individual to deal with, our sales Acton Toyota. The customer satisfaction exceeded our expectations. Though I will admit I wasnot the most pleasant individual to deal with, our salesman Travis McCarthy treated us with sincere professionalism. He was kind, courteous, and presented no pressure like the typical salesman. Travis allowed us to test drive 2 vehicles of our choice alone, and without him riding in the back seat like a typical salesman. My husband and I were able to discuss the pros and cons of each vehicle without someone looking over our shoulder. I was tryly impressed. Upon our initial visit, we didnot purchase a car. We infact visited other dealerships and researched other vehicles. Needless to say, that experience was less than pleasant. We felt pressured, and ultimately bombarded with phone calls, emails and what appeared to be desperation. We decided to return to Acton Toyota and purchase the Camry SE.I would recommend anyone seeking to purchase a Toyota, to visit Acton Toyota and specifically request that Travis McCarthy be your sales representative. I assure you that your experience will be pleasurable. Acton Toyota has gained the Jordans as customers for life. More
Tom Downing was Outstanding to work with He did everything he could to keep me satisfied. Ed Babagallo gave me the impression that he wasn't trust worthy. Ed was like the old time salesman, fast everything he could to keep me satisfied. Ed Babagallo gave me the impression that he wasn't trust worthy. Ed was like the old time salesman, fast talking, all business, try to sneak things by you. Ed prepared a loan application at 7.1% and gave it to me to sign,I think just to slip it by me. Next he went to the Toyota match of 6.44% after that he just happened to have some left over coupons in his desk to lower the interest rate to 5.59%. The paid warranties, he tried to sell you somethings I didn't want. Joe Tosi All business not friendly, The rest of the dealership was excellent!!. All other personnel that went by you were real friendly. The showroom was very clean and comfortable and the coffee, tea, juice, and water was a plus!! I wouldn't hesitate to buy a new vehicle from Tom Downing. More
This was a no-hassle internet sale. The price Bob quoted us was below what an other dealership quoted and was significantly below TMV. Bob was friendly, cordial, informative, and took the time to answer al us was below what an other dealership quoted and was significantly below TMV. Bob was friendly, cordial, informative, and took the time to answer all our questions. We never felt rushed, and he was never pushy. Our experience with Peter was much the same. He explained our financing alternatives and we felt, after talking to him, we made the best financing choice. The overall experience was much better than I expected. And so far we are very pleased with our new Rav4 Limited. More
