Don’t waste your time at this dealership unless you are prepared to make a purchase on the spot!! Arranged for a test drive of a Porsche Boxster at 12:00 noon today. Arrived on time, met with Tommy B. who was cordial enough at first. I explained that I was shopping for either a Boxster or Corvette, was interested in a test drive, and all seemed fine. Then the fun began: • Car was not ready for a test drive…was getting an oil change. • I was told it was on the showroom floor earlier in the am and was not ready yet to test drive. • Waited 45 minutes, so I told Tommy B. if it was going to be much longer it would not be a problem and I would come back Monday. • 15 minutes later the car was ready and brought out…the mechanic was visibly irritated. Given the appearance of the car I had a hard time believing it had come off the showroom floor…the exterior still needed detailing. • Tommy B. comes out and stands there with the keys and asked if I was ready to see the car. I sensed something was wrong. I walked to the car, got in, and asked him if we could do the test drive. • Tommy B. “flipped” at this point and told me I should not be wasting his “expletive” time unless I was ready to purchase a car, noting that Saturdays are a busy day. He then walked away from the car and me and back toward the showroom/office. • Needless to say I was dumbfounded and could not believe his reaction. Tommy B. actually just left me in the car and walked away! • A Sales Manager, Juan, happened to be outside at the time and saw my jaw on the ground as I got out of the car. I explained what happened. He apologized and explained that Saturdays are busy days and not the day to do a test drive. I stated that if I had been told that at first I would have scheduled another day. He asked if I still wanted the test drive. I told him I was not interested in dealing with this dealership after Tommy’s behavior and poor representation of this business, nor could I ever recommend it to anyone. A horrible experience…maybe not typical but cannot ever recommend AMG Auto based on today’s event. More
