I purchased a brand new ‘22 Kia Stinger GT1 on 08/06/2021. This is my experience with dealer and it’s employees. I negotiated everything over the phone due to it being a 3 hour drive to get to Jeff Smith Kia from Columbia, SC. I was assured that when I arrived, the vehicle would be cleaned up and ready to go by my salesman Will Prestridge. He also told me that the car would be filled up with gas and my wife’s car would be filled up as well for making the drive. When I arrived I was greeted with the vehicle we discussed. It was not clean at all. It had dirt in the back seats, residue from the window sticker and crud all on the outside. There was also around 400 miles on it and a couple chips in the paint. After seeing all I this I just could not pull the trigger on that vehicle. Will also kept telling me that it was clean, like I was crazy and have never seen a clean car before. I went to go look at the other colors of the same exact car and they all had the same exact chipping/peeling in the paint on both sides of the car near the front wheel well. I meticulously inspected the 8 Stingers on the lot and all had the same defect. I even showed Will on multiple Stingers and he said he had never seen that before but they would touch it up in a year since that’s one of the advantages of buying from them. I expressed that I would not drive 3 hours for a touch up and it was clearly a defect given every Stinger having it and we left it at that. After driving 3 hours my mind had been made up that I was buying a new car (also my wife and 5 yo probably would have killed me), so I decided to go with the red interior due to it at least not being a demo and only having 12 miles on it. Paperwork was quick and I was in and out of the finance office quicker than ever. Me and my wife waited around for the car about 30 minutes or so after leaving the finance office. When the car was pulled back up for delivery, it was kinda clean. There was still residue from the window sticker and sticky areas from where the car had been shipped with protective things on it. I over looked this due to him saying he had to clean it himself due to the clean up guys being gone. He shook my hand, put on my temporary tag and never filled up my wife’s car as he promised. Whatever though, I got my new car so I can look past all of that. The following week I take the car to my local Kia dealer where they took pictures of the defect and sent it off for a claim. They ended up calling me about a week later saying that I had to reach out to the dealer I bought it from due to it looking like the car was damaged during PDI, so I should just be able to send them over pictures. When I called Jeff Smith Kia, I spoke with a lady in service (with not an ounce of empathy in her body) she insisted that there was no way to help me unless I drove 3 hours to bring the car in so they can get a couple photos. I then called Will who said he would handle it. I sent him a text with the photos and he acknowledged that he remembered me showing him them when I purchased the car that prior week. After a few days of no follow up, I follow back up with him and he passes the phone off to a guy in service who tells me that Kias never have any paint issues and ultimately hangs up on me when I tell him that in the car forums online a lot of people are having the same problems with Kia Stingers. I then call kia consumer affairs to try and get a resolution. I’ve had a little back and forth correspondence over the past few weeks. My case representative said she asked if they knew anything about the paint issues, and was told that Will said he had no idea about the paint problem. That’s why I’m writing this review. This whole experience has been totally unprofessional with nonexistent customer service. I’m not sure why he would be dishonest about this issue and why I am having to write this review. As of today 10/05/2021 I have yet to receive a single follow up call from Will. He called me maybe 5-6 times the day I was going to buy the car and couldn’t call me once to thank me for my business after that day. These events speak volumes of this dealer and salesperson. With apps like Podium, you can pick and choose customers who you know will leave a good review. I’m sure something like that is used at Jeff Smith Kia, because I definitely have not had a 4.8 star experience. If you are from out of town, I would encourage you to not deal with this dealer. If you are local, I would advise you to get everything in writing when dealing with Will Prestridge. More
This service department is a JOKE!!! I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. Told me a bunch of lies making me think that they had fixed my car. Went to get in my car and the lights were still on. Ga this dealership to anyone. Told me a bunch of lies making me think that they had fixed my car. Went to get in my car and the lights were still on. Gave me the run around. I ended up leaving my car for them to fix the issue. Got a call the next day saying that it would be 2 weeks before the part would be here and also what they told me they fixed the day before they didn't fix it and it would be 2 weeks before that part is in as well. The service guy rolled his eyes at me as I was talking to him. Huffed and puffed at me while trying to talk to him. Just gave me bogus info to try to get me out of there. More

Easiest Purchase I have made This was by far the easiest I have ever purchased a vehicle, and Chris Parker went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. After the purchase h This was by far the easiest I have ever purchased a vehicle, and Chris Parker went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. After the purchase he reached out to make sure I didn't have any questions with some of the new features and gave me his number so I could get him if I needed help later. 100% recommend this dealership and ask for Chris! I showed him the written quote from sales manager, he would NOT honor there own quote less than two hrs. old. I had already called wife to tell her I was buying the car for her. I have called Kia consumer affairs. They can do nothing except call dealership. Buyers beware they will also try to keep factory incentives and the Mil. Discount.will try to hide it in the internet price. More
