Well, I saw the advertisement for the automobile I was really interested in. I called up about it and talked to a salesman (Sean maybe?) about it. He said the Mustang was being held up because of a contin really interested in. I called up about it and talked to a salesman (Sean maybe?) about it. He said the Mustang was being held up because of a contingency sale? He did say he would call me back that afternoon or at least the next day for sure! Regardless, neither ever happened. I was anxious about the possibility. But, without any communication from the salesman I went elsewhere and purchased another Mustang. It is a shame a simple action or rather, inaction killed a possible buyers purchase! More
Unfortunately, ALM confirms the worst "used car salesman" cliches. We purchased a 2020 Kia Sorento from ALM in November 2022. We've purchased private party in the past and always gotten our own inspection. However, the ALM buying process was incredibly seamless and our salesman was extremely friendly and helpful; we made the mistake of trusting the ALM service department report instead of getting our own inspection. In particular, we were told the car had "four new tires." Turns, out we had two tire leaks within a month of purchase; the "new" tires were barely passable used tires, four different brands, from other cars. We're replacing all four less than six months in. In addition, when I took it in to our usual shop for an oil change, we were told that both battery and brakes already need to be replaced. The worst issue is a leaking CV boot. This is an unusual repair for a car of this age and the part is only available from the dealer. It will cost us thousands. Ultimately this is on us for not getting our own inspection -- but ALM has not offered to budge an inch in addressing any of these issues... even the tire leak that occurred within weeks of purchase.
