I chose one star because it would not let me pick zero! We brought it back and they said the brake was "locked up" claimed they fixed it sent us on our way. We weren't even home before the problem happened again. We again brought it back and they claimed they fixed it again. Well I guess the third time is the charm because after the problem continued we brought it to another repair shop where they actually fixed it but of course it was not cheap. However, they were so concerned by what they found they immediately called us to come in. The entire underside of this car is completely rusted and rotted to the point where some parts are stuck to other parts, they called it a disaster waiting to happen and they refused to do anymore work on it. They asked if the car had been in a flood.. We called A Better Way and they said there was nothing they could do. I wish I could say that was the worst of it but it gets much worse. As I was turning a corner the tire completely snapped off the car, it had rusted through, the tow company and state police could not believe we didn't have a horrible accident. The tie rod completely failed from rust and the stabilizer bar which is very important to the safe driving in a Jeep cracked in half. Also the radiator and the water pump have had to be replaced. There is something wrong with the transmission since the car won't go above 25 mph. Apparently according to the last garage the frame is cracked and now there is something wrong with the steering. We have been told the car is not safe to drive so it sits in our driveway, no dealership will take it for trade, we tried. I would not even sell this car for fear that someone would have a terrible accident. We have two more years to pay for this xxx vehicle and of course the Lemon Law does not apply to this car. I would buy a car from an actual junkyard before buying from these guys. More
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I went to test drive the car- and it would not start. At first it seemed like a dead battery- it turned out to be an engine issue. In order to get them to fix the engine they had me put a $1000 deposit on the car and told me since I couldn’t test drive the car it would be refundable- it was simply just to hold the car- this took several weeks. When the car was fixed I went and was not able to test drive it- was told to just take it and the deposit was non refundable. Car key fob did not work. The convertible top of car is broken- and I had the car for about 3-4 days before it started having issues. First the alternator- and then it was revealed it had cracked rims so air was leaking from tires. I got all that fixed just for it to constantly stall out about a month later. I am in NYC so I took the car to a few mechanics to see what was wrong and no one could figure out the problem. The car has a refurbished engine so the Dealerships wouldn’t even touch it. I had to take it back to ABW where they kept the car for nearly 2 months… with a constantly growing bill that nearly ended up totaling to almost $3000. I just got the car back late August / early September for it to start stalling and acting up again today. I called the dealership and they rudely informed me they don’t have a spot until December and they wouldn’t look at the car until then and when I explained that was ridiculous considering it seems related to the work they just did they made a snarky remark saying “oh yea, yours is the car no one else could fix and we put a lot of work in to!” At this point I no longer even wanted to deal with these scam artists. They should have never sold a car in this condition to begin with- and the “work” they put in that no one else could figure out was a direct result of them hob-Jobbing this car together enough for you to drive it off the lot. I know I cant legally I can’t do much but like others who have left reviews I will be reporting them to the better business bureau. I have had this car since March and have only had a few drivable months out of it- and they are kind to you until the car starts having problems… which is nearly an instant thing. More
Had the worst experience . I bought a van 15 minutes into the highway the van starts making a loud sound . Horrible service department! Purchased a car and picked it on December 27th, check engine light came on 2 days later.....the car has been back 3 times for several issues. They kept the car for 2 weeks minimum each time and never fixed the issue. They don't communicate the diagnosis or work done. When I called John for help dealing with the service issues, he couldn't be bothered. Would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from them, they are lacking in professionalism, honesty and service! More

Purchased this car last year and have had nothing but problems with it. From having a flat tire, a spare tire that had a nail already in it, to my car constantly giving an overheating error but not overh problems with it. A better way has had my car for the majority of 2021 and have NOT fixed my car. I brought my car to them on January 21 2021 due to my car overheating and the driver side not having heat. All they did was drain and put new fluids in and fix the heater box. I received my car back on February 19 2021, not even 24 hours after having my car back it began to give the error for overheating I immediately called them and told them and all Tanya stated was that they did all they could. I took my vehicle to the Ford dealership who were able to fix one issue but found multiple other issues which continued to cause my car to overheat. They stated multiple different hoses and etc were broken and needed to be replaced, and even if we did fix those issues the car engine would begin to fail within a couple of months. when I stated this to a better way Tanya and a tech rudely stated that "ford cannot determine whether or not an engine can fail". I returned my car back to A Better Way on March 2nd and was told they would make sure my car is a priority and fixed immediately. I called in multiple times because they do not reach out to customers to provide updates only to be given false information. My last conversation with them on 03/16/2021 ended up being a lie, I was told that my car was taken apart for the warranty company to inspect and the warranty company never came so they had to put it back together. I immediately reached out to the warranty company who stated A Better Way never reached out to them. I called A Better Way back only to receive an excuse that they were super busy and had no techs to take my vehicle apart and it would not be taken apart until the following week. I should add in that when I called on 03/09/2021 they stated my car was being brought into the dock to the broken piece apart. When I stated how unacceptable this was all the associate kept repeating was "like I said we're very busy". Absolutely no sympathy for the customer. I'm currently $2,000 in debt for rentals because of them and the reimbursement policy from the extended warranty A Better Way provided claimed they will only reimburse me for one day. They have zero care for their customers. The majority of their vehicles should be considered lemons! More
Absolutely horrible business practices! January 2020, I purchased a Nissan. Pathfinder from them. The next morning, it started smoking, they had it towed to their "garage". The garage is just a Napa oil change spot with one mechanic and a very young staff. They kept my car for almost a week to tell me something was wrong with the engine and they ordered a new one. Another week to have it installed. They reminded me of the rental reimbursement on the extended warranty. 2. Picked up the car with the new engine, but they forgot to put the bolts in the engine mount. So every acceleration and deceleration, I would hear a clunk. Brought it back again. They told me nothing was wrong. 3. Brought it back again for the same thing and I explained to them what exactly it was (brought it to another shop and got the truth). They kept the car for 4 days and told me I needed a new transmission. There was nothing wrong with my transmission!! Picked it up with the "new" transmission and the idle is all over the place, accelerating erratically on the highway, wouldn't switch to 3rd gear. 2 days later, the transmission finally gives. They tow it back again. 4. This time another week of diagnosis tells them it's a bad transmission (ya think???) And they have to wait for approval of the warranty company to order another one! Another week goes by and they reinstall a "new" transmission. And they tell me they "fixed" my ac as a courtesy to me... 5. Drive out of the parking lot, check engine light goes on. They spend a half an hour resetting the light. Goes back on again so I bring it to a real garage - O2 sensors gone. Bring it back again with all paperwork. Also, the AC is permanently on, never turns off... 6. Meanwhile, I needed a rental and I submitted the $600 bill for reimbursement. That bill was passed around faster than wildfire and it became everyone else's fault. I ended up going to the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. Only then did they reimburse my money, stating it was a courtesy...nope, it was a part of the extended warranty that they slide in as a payment! I just recently sold the car and I am so glad to never have to deal with this company again!! Please read the reviews and keep in mind that while they are filling out the purchase paperwork, they wait for you to review them on Google before proceeding. Many of the 5 star reviews come from people sitting at the desk, waiting for their cars!! More
TERRIBLE. They sell you cars with issues and continue to take your money doing sub par service jobs. I’ve had my car a year and been back at service 7 times, each time something else wrong. The brake lines where smashed and i had no brakes the exhaust y pipe had been cut into and verity of either thing needing to be replaced to pass the inspection. I plane to file a complete to the better business bureau and state police. More
