They are friendly, the prices are great. Theres a reason for that though. I bought a car for 6k less than book value, never recieved the car because I got sick of waiting around on false hopes and promises for that though. I bought a car for 6k less than book value, never recieved the car because I got sick of waiting around on false hopes and promises that my car would be ready. The car I purchased needed to be completely rebuilt. I am so happy I didnt actually go through with the purchase after waiting a month and a half. Chances are I would have been back and forth on mechanical problems. After waiting a month and a half I went and got my deposit back, and found a much better dealership with quality cars and im very pleased with my purchase now which only took 2 days. More
My experience is identical to those listed here. Only had my vehicle for 6months when EGR valve blew and of course, was not under the warranty. Three months later The truck broke down completely and was towe my vehicle for 6months when EGR valve blew and of course, was not under the warranty. Three months later The truck broke down completely and was towed to A better way in November 2011. Jay was "working" on it for two months, with multiple inconsistencies in his appraisal of the problem. Finally spoke to owner in January 2012 after several unreturned phone calls and asked him to rectify the problem and/or possibly offer some service recovery since they had the vehicle for 60 days already. I Stated that I did not want to make a complaint with DMV and then at that point he said he would tell the mechanic to stop working on the truck and "come and get the truck off my lot" because I was threatening him with a complaint. Mike told me it was my problem and take the truck elsewhere. Next day I showed up with a tow truck and towed it out to a reputable Ford mechanic who estimated the repair would run 6-9000$, partly because of what the mechanic did to the vehicle at A Better Way. A better way also left me with my radiator and various parts in a cardboard box in my passenger seat. I filed complaints with BBB, St of CT, and DMV. Unfortunately, after two additional months (2/28/2012) DMV has not responded to my complaint because they are currently involved in a major investigation against A Better Way. I have continued to make my monthly payments on a vehicle that is disassembled sitting at my mechanic now for over 3 months and will probably have to have the car repossessed because it is worthless. Even my mechanic said it is not worth fixing and my tow truck driver said the same situation happened to his brother. Wish I knew how bad this business ran in the first place before buying a $40,000 truck and ruining my credit. I work in customer service and can not believe the manner in which the owner spoke to me and also his grammar and lack of spelling ability in his BBB response to my dispute. More
I would not recommend anybody to use this dealership EVER. My son bought a car and it already has a blown motor two months later. I never had a worse experience buying a car than I did at A Better Way EVER. My son bought a car and it already has a blown motor two months later. I never had a worse experience buying a car than I did at A Better Way. They are liars, everything that was to be done prior to pick up of the car was not done. No safety check was done on the car, the battery was to be replaced, that wasnt done, seat belts were not working and they looked right at me and said, yes we did the safety check. One of the signals did not work, I guess thats not part of the safety check. Spent 3 hours the night of pick up due to their negligence then had to return two days later because things still were not done. The 60 day warranty ran out 3 days before the engine blew. I called dealership and they basically said there was nothing they could do. DO NOT VISIT THIS DEALERSHIP EVER! More
We were lied to, pushed aside, phone calls ignored. We waited 13 days to receive our car that was susposto be ready for pick up after 3 days. We lost time from work and kids lost time from school. They wo waited 13 days to receive our car that was susposto be ready for pick up after 3 days. We lost time from work and kids lost time from school. They would not give us a rental car. We contacted BBB to only find out we were #68 complaint. The Google reviews are fake. Made by the company which was why we went in the first place. They should be shut down! More
Please do not make the same mistake we did...STAY AWAY!!! The couple thousand you (may) save on a car will get eaten up (and then some) in all the repairs you will need to make to whatever vehicle you buy f The couple thousand you (may) save on a car will get eaten up (and then some) in all the repairs you will need to make to whatever vehicle you buy from them. Yep, SUPER friendly (they want your money) and good prices (you will make up the "savings" in repair costs)...don't do it...save yourself the time and aggravation! More

Avoid A Better Way Wholesalers. I purchased a 2004 GMC Yukon from A Better Way and regretted it. All was OK for a couple of months until several things went wrong real quick. Transmission wouldn't come out of 4th gear (automatic), 4 wheel drive would not work intermittently, ABS braking would engage on dry pavement on a regular basis. I was aware I hadn't purchased an extended warranty and had very little recourse, and by reading some of the prior reviews it would not have made a difference. I brought the truck into a Chevy dealer for them to find a fuel leak which I couldn't locate and to check my other concerns. One hour later I received a call from the Chevy dealer informing me of bad news. "Get rid of this truck", I was told. They told me the vehicle originated from either an extremely salty region, or had sat in salt water for an extended period. Suggested I do not drive the vehicle as the brake lines, fuel lines, brake calipers, and brake rotors all needed to be replaced immediately as they were seriosly deteriorated. Also needed the ABS brake sensors cleaned, tranny cooler leaking, not sure what the 4WD problem was, didn't get that far. Repair costs were $7K. Now, I would assume A Better Way would at least make sure the vehicle was safe to drive prior to sale, but apparently not. Longer story short, I owed $12K on the loan, traded it in for $8K. I was forced to drain my savings account to pay off the remaining $4K of the loan thus putting me in a poor financial position. Just saying, learn from reading these reviews. More
Bought a car from them and it took 2 months to finally get it from service department. Within a week it had to go back for the same problem they "fixed" in the beginning. This repeated several times bef get it from service department. Within a week it had to go back for the same problem they "fixed" in the beginning. This repeated several times before they finally got it right. The first 6 months i owned the car i had it for a month tops and they refused to return it or give me a car to drive because they changed my warranty when i resigned paperwork and did not tell me. They gave every excuse as to why they couldn't figure it out and would keep telling me to call back it should be ready soon. Because it took so long to get the car I had to resign all the paperwork including the warranty from them. Had to bring it back after the 60 day warranty expired and found out that the new warranty that i had signed was different from the one i had originally bought. It covered electronic equipment and that was all. Lied about putting new parts and working on the car. They told me they had put a new part in the car and just recently took it to a factory dealership and they told me it wasn't even the right part for the car. Car was previously in an accident but was told it was not. Found out later that most of the cars they get are auctions with problems and bad titles which is why they did away with giving car fax reports. Would highly recommend going to a real dealership. Good prices but quality of cars and service and staff are not. More
Think twice before you buy from this place. Bought car and the same day a oil light came up. The car swallowed full 3 quarts of oil. Would never believe they sell car with no oil. But that was just the and the same day a oil light came up. The car swallowed full 3 quarts of oil. Would never believe they sell car with no oil. But that was just the beginning. Only in two months the car was falling apart. One problem after another. They did everything possible to weasel out of warranty job. And as a woman, who understand a lot of thing but cars, I can guarantee you these people care only for your money, and in no way for building solid customer base. If you want to save yourself money and lot of headache, go to reputable dealer who sells certified used cars and in no way to this Better Way Auto Dump. Your car will fall apart before you get home!
