NEVER do business with this place. all of their employees give conflicting information, and won't care if you commute from across the country to pick up large checks to find out they have to come back anothe give conflicting information, and won't care if you commute from across the country to pick up large checks to find out they have to come back another day. 1st time buyers or people with tight budgets, you're better off dealing with actual dealerships that yes still want your money, but will make sure your car is properly taken care of before its on the lot, and will give you reliable information and policies that all employees know. You may pay more, but its WELL worth it. Also, all of their cars under $10,000, have no warranties! Real dealer is much better and thats what I plan on doing for the rest of my life! Horrible customer service, crappy cars bought off of auctions, $600 dealer convenience fee, cars not fixed until purchased. all of these things are UNACCEPTABLE More
I met Sean Lewis who was 3 days on the job. Upon arrival I witnessed a departing customer screaming at one of the managers that was so upset he had the cops called to the dealership. (HUGE sign something m I witnessed a departing customer screaming at one of the managers that was so upset he had the cops called to the dealership. (HUGE sign something may not be good here) Sean, very unprofessional, and probably just got this car dealership sales job after being fired from McDonalds, proceeded to take me and my father to the lot in a shuttle van. Once we got to this dirt parking lot (land of misfit cars) he walked with us for about 10 feet to find the van i was looking for from the ad. He had zero knowledge and maybe if I said "I will take a #5 supersized" he would have a better idea of what to do. I had to bite my tongue as I needed a ride back to the dealership in the shuttle but what a joke.... I live in new york city, and haven't had a car for years but quickly remember why i always bought cars through private sales and the internet. If you are smart, take your time, go private sale (most sellers are usually honest) and take out the slimy middle man. Sean Lewis - You are a joke of a cars sales man, doubt you have internet or a computer to ever find this. But will be sure to mention your name once more "Sean Lewish" Naugatuck, maybe that will help google you looser. I'm hungry, chicken nuggets, fries and a coke.....hey where is my free smile? :) More

I bought the use the car with an "as is" warranty which was a mistake on my part. Just after a few days after the purchase, the battery died. The mechanic said the battery was shot as indica warranty which was a mistake on my part. Just after a few days after the purchase, the battery died. The mechanic said the battery was shot as indicated by his battery tester, no life left in the battery. Which took all of 5 minutes to check. I thought it hard to believe that a used car dealer would sell a car with no battery life. I learned a $115 lesson. I also learned that while I was waxing the car, there was a missing lug nut on one of the rims. At least that was only $3.50 from Toyota. My latest event is the maintenance light is now turning on, so I added more power steering fluid because it was low. But he maintenance light is still on, so off to the shop I go again but for a full checkup. Which I assumed "A Better Way" would have done before selling a vehicle.I would expect buying a car in this condition from a person off the street but not from a car dealer even with the "as is" warranty. For the next used car I purchase, I will be sure to have my mechanic look at it before the purchase. Regardless of my mistake or ignorant assumptions, my next used car purchase will be "A Better Way" but it won't be in Naugatuck. More
After reading a list of horrible reviews I felt compelled to write about my experience. I found a 2004 Lincoln Town Car that I was interested. As soon as I got there I was greeted by Alex and before showin to write about my experience. I found a 2004 Lincoln Town Car that I was interested. As soon as I got there I was greeted by Alex and before showing me the car he explained about the $796 fee for non wholesale buyers. He wanted to make that clear up front. I ended buying the car, and agreed to pick it up in a couple of days. They promised they would fix anything wrong the car had. Alex even showed up on his day off to deliver the car. The car was clean, and it just had been detailed. Carpet was still wet from the shampoo. When I got in to drive away, the driver seat wouldn’t move forward and neither did the passenger’s. Their mechanic took a look at it and realized the seat rails where totally rusted and promised to replace both of them. He asked me to take the car home and to give him a week or two to find two used car seats. The very next day I got a call saying they had found the parts. Brought the car back, left it there for 2 days and they replace the rail system on both seats. My only complaint is that they didn’t vacuum the car after all the work was done. I have driven 1000 miles so far and the car is fine. They also changed the oil and installed new brake pads. Everything went very well. More
I went to A Better Way because I was looking for a new car. When I got there and wanted to test drive a car I saw online, Rebecca brought me to the car. It was all scratched up, had dents on the roof, lea car. When I got there and wanted to test drive a car I saw online, Rebecca brought me to the car. It was all scratched up, had dents on the roof, leather inside was peeling and overall did not have great body work. None of this was shown in the pictures. I took it for a test drive and heard a weird sound that I told her I wanted her to look into before I bought it. She kept saying she didn't hear anything and she knew nothing about cars. I then asked her about the steering and she again said she knew nothing about cars. When we got back from the test drive I asked to work with somebody else because I didn't want to work with somebody who knew nothing and I was directed to Jim. He seemed very helpful so I went through all the numbers and figures with him and asked if he could hold the car for 24 hours while I got the check and paperwork ready; I would be there the next day after work(it was after 7pm and banks were closed). I came back the next day and they said the car was sold. How could you sell a car when I confirmed with you an hour earlier that I was coming and everything was secure?? Overall, bad experience, and their customer service is garbage! Stay away from A Better Way! More

Ten days to get the car refundable deposit required.$558.00 "dealer prep "fee plus a $198 fee? With ct 6.35 % tax price jumped up and over 11,600???? Ten days to get the car ready.Did the brakes, the cheepest parts you can get.Brakes grind and sound like crap.Tryed to sell "life time free" oil change for $299 ,nothing free about that.Ordered parts for sunroof repair and tryed to talk me in to taking the car as it is, with the repair promissed "when the parts come in".Not a chance, i know how that works. When i finaly got the car, half the stuff that was suposed to be done, was not.And a half xxx job of cleaning the car. Oh, and please dont ask for a car fax, "We dont pay for that". Got one on my own, car was wrecked twice. To bad for me, cant get out of the deal without losing a grand. Do youself a favor, spend a little more and buy a car from a reputable dealer!!! Mike More
Salesperson told us the ADVERTISED price which was in their AD and written on the windshields were only for "Dealers".He told me to add $1000.00 dollars to every price if I am not a Dealer.I left. No rep their AD and written on the windshields were only for "Dealers".He told me to add $1000.00 dollars to every price if I am not a Dealer.I left. My mistake was i told paul that was my firs time. i asked him for the carfax, he told me he was going to get it. when he came back he gave me a bunch of papers to signed. I need a car for work so i signed th him for the carfax, he told me he was going to get it. when he came back he gave me a bunch of papers to signed. I need a car for work so i signed them. After i put $3,000 deposit down, thats when he gave me the final price. The car was for $4,999 and tax was almost $3,000. The deposit i put down was nothing.Paul played too much game with me,He didnt fix the brake and shocks. He installed the cheapest one in the market. Two months later they started to make noise. The shocks he put was cheap but i dont have money to buy new one. Im saving to buy four new tire, the one he gave me wasn't good. I will never go there again. I hope you get yours. More
This is an update to my posting a few months back. I bought a truck sight unseen, dealing with them from Alaska. I asked the salesperson a million questions about the truck as I was concerned. One big bought a truck sight unseen, dealing with them from Alaska. I asked the salesperson a million questions about the truck as I was concerned. One biggie: rust. I asked her to check some very specific places like the rocker panels, fenders, etc. Her response a day later: "no rust anywhere, you're gonna love this truck". I also asked about the little things, power mirrors, stereo, heated seats, power locks, etc. "Everything works perfectly, and it will go through our shop before you get it and any problem WILL be fixed." So here's what showed up in my driveway.... a truck with rusted out rocker panels(you can put your hand right through them), rust on the fenders that none of their photos showed, badly dented tube steps, broken stereo, broken heated seats, power door locks don't function correctly, and the power mirrors don't work. A handful of unreturned calls to my wonderful salesperson, then I turned to BBB. We filed a report and got some really stupid replies from the dealer, never willing to address the bold face lies I was told. After going back and forth with them, no resolution was reached, they were unwilling to concede anything, even though I easily lost about $5000 in the deal. The BBB told me to contact the Connecticut DMV. When I called and told the lady my problem, her response was "we already know all about A Better Way and have an investigation alredy underway". They took my case, but in the end they told me it was a civil matter that they wouldn't be able to pursue with me. At the same time, they were shocked at the photos of the truck I sent to them. It's been months since I bought this truck, but it hurts me to think of other folks going through what I did, so I needed to write another review. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! I have a very tight budget and it's gonna take years to get over the burn from this experience. More
