first off, I would like to state if your looking for a cookie cutter car buying experience this place isn't for you. you might be better off at a establishment that will hold your hand. with that bein cookie cutter car buying experience this place isn't for you. you might be better off at a establishment that will hold your hand. with that being said, if you want a chance to get an amazing deal, say a vehicle sold 30%-50% below kbb value and understand its not going to be a regular dealership experience and are willing to do a little research this is the place to go. my husband and I recently purchased a 05 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT here and have had no problems at all. yes we had to wait a few extra days for them to deliver the car than originally told but they fixed two components that they easily could of hid and sent me on my way with...my husband is a mechanic and informed me after inspecting the repairs that they were legitimate. please try to not take these other reviews as a total and whole view as to what this company is. I'm going to write a little guide for anyone who reads this I'm telling you this will save some frustration that some people on here are facing also, I'm sure many of these negative reviews are people buying 12 year old 2-$3,000$ cars with 125k+miles and pissed it didn't work properly after.. 1.) these guys buy a ridiculous amount of cars from auctions, like 100 a week hence the super cheap prices. now when cars are bought at auction they are bought "sight unseen" they don't get to see what's wrong with them before they buy them. if you get in a car and check engine light is on, they'll tell you they'll fix it and they will. they can't let you leave with a check engine light on. 2.)if you can't afford a new BMW,audi,or mercedes don't buy a used one with 150k miles on it.. they have a million parts and any time something goes wrong it needs to go to its respected dealership. and usually costs 10x what it cost to fix an american car..however if your a mechanic with the ability to fix something like this more power too you. 2.) don't buy a used car with 100k+ miles that looked like it could of been a racer or has a turbo they fail it's expensive look up how much it cost to fix a turbo if you don't have double that in your checking account don't buy it. 3.) buy american, cheaper and easier to work on. anyone with youtube and a basic toolkit can work on an american car. 4.)these guys sell cars faster than they can update their website, pick literally 4-6 cars you like the day you're going down. if your looking for ultimate reliability research each of the vehicles online. google: year, make, model, AND THEN REVIEWS OR RELIABILITY you can find much info on these vehicles and take note of which have best reviews and reliability 5.) when you get there ask if these vehicles are available pick the 2 best ,best reviews etc. carfax the vehicles.on your phone and test drive both if both have horrible car fax I recommend checking out another two off the list.. PICK THE ONE WITH THE BEST ONLINE REVIEWS AND BEST CARFAX. if you can't do a little research online before buying a used car don't run online and post erroneous reviews about how this place did you wrong. THEY DONT KNOW WHAT WAS DONE TO THEM BEFORE ALL THEY NOW IS THEY HAVE IT FOR SALE AND ITS SOME TIMES OVER 50% OFF. REMEMBER IF YOU NEED YOUR HAND HELD GO ELSEWHERE. THESE PEOPLE PROVIDE AN AWESOME SERVICE IF YOUR WILLING TO DO A LITTLE RESEARCH. IF YOU READ THIS AND DECIDED YOU WERENT GOING TO PAY RIDICULOUSLY INFLATED PRICES AT A REGULAR DEALERSHIP AND CAN RESEARCH THINGS AND YOU GET AN AMAZING DEAL ***PLEASE POST A POSITIVE REVIEW FOR THESE GUYS*** remember this place caters to people with bad credit (which i have) but with that being said I'm sure they deal with the scurge of the earth here a lot I'm saying the "entitled" you owe me everything type of people, so if you can stay polite with them even if things don't go as planned you will stick out and I'm sure you'll get better service than all of the scrubs. in closing of you read this and buy a car from them and its a decent experience remember and give them a review. the only people giving reviews are the few chumps who bought stupid. This has been the worst car-buying experience I have ever had. Though there are a lot of cars to choose from, it is NOT worth the time, money, effort, and aggravation. As of now, I am stranded without a car had. Though there are a lot of cars to choose from, it is NOT worth the time, money, effort, and aggravation. As of now, I am stranded without a car I bought three months ago and have only had for a few days at a time. Their big selling point is that anything they find wrong with car that will cause it to be unsafe to drive, they'll fix on their own dime. That's actually the law. My car stalled at the very first light after I picked it up after they signed off on it. I brought it back. I'm still waiting on a reimbursement for the rental. I've brought it back twice since then, same problem, and they've had it for over a month. They hang up on me after putting me on hold, they leave you on hold for 10+ minutes, they tell you it'll be ready that afternoon and they'll call you and they don't and the car isn't ready. They don't give you a loaner. They won't explain to me what's wrong with the car, what they've found, what they've done to it. Maybe it's because I'm a woman. Everything about this experience has been a nightmare. Avoid this dealership at all costs. More
This might be the worst car dealership I have ever been to. They will pressure you into giving them a thousand dollar deposit than come back with ridiculous loan terms. You will not under any circumstan to. They will pressure you into giving them a thousand dollar deposit than come back with ridiculous loan terms. You will not under any circumstances get your deposit back. I bought a Nissan Altima and the car needed work they kept delaying the job until the 60 day warranty was up. Their main selling point is their wholesale prices but once they add in all of there junk fees and conveyance fees they have the same prices as anyone else. They also try to charge you a vin- etch fee to etch the VIN number on hidden places throughout the car and claim it is mandatory and you will get a discount on your auto insurance for getting it which is total BS. I would especially stay away from Dan....These are the main reasons why I would never do business with ABW but there are just too many to list and I would never recommend these shysters to anyone. I tested a Nissan Quest 2004 minivan on Thursday, October 3rd at Better Way. The van had a noise on the front and they said it was something simple, and they will get it fixed by Monday, but I had to leave a 3rd at Better Way. The van had a noise on the front and they said it was something simple, and they will get it fixed by Monday, but I had to leave a $1,000 deposit. I patiently waited for their call until Thursday, October 10th. They said it was ready, but when we drove it again, it still had problems. There was a banging sound when the transmission was going from 2nd. to 3rd, and 3rd. back to 2nd. We brought our own mechanic, who drove the car and suggested it was the transmission. They keep insisting it is not, but won't explain what is the problem. We also found other issues that day. The radio and cd player would not work, and the fan for the AC and heater would not start. There was also another sound on the back of the car, and our mechanic suggested it might be the struts. They said it would be ready for Saturday, but we did not get a call until next Monday. On Monday, October 14th., the salesman said that they were still waiting for the fan part, but would not have any explanation for the sound on the transmission; which, by now, was our main concern. The salesman actually suggested that I buy the car and if in a couple days they noise still bothered me, then bring it back. On that Monday evening, October 14th., the salesman asked me to talk to one of his supervisors: Kam or Jack. I spoke with Kam on Tuesday and explained him the situation and asked him for my down-payment back. I cannot buy a car with a dyeing transmission... or no heat. They said that I signed a non refund policy paper, which I inadvertently did. They are selling a car that is not safe and probably won't even be drive-able in a few months. THEY are giving me the run arounds about the transmission and refusing to fix it, because according to them, it is nothing. I haven't get my down payment back... but still fighting More
Recently went to A Better Way to look at a 2002 Audi S4 Avant (Station wagon variant of the A4/Passat platform) they had listed on Autotrader.com. The pictures portrayed the car's condition rather nicely a Avant (Station wagon variant of the A4/Passat platform) they had listed on Autotrader.com. The pictures portrayed the car's condition rather nicely and the price seemed reasonable. I called A Better Way to confirm the car was still for sale, and a man who identified himself as Justin said yes it is, and that I could come and check it out, just ask for Justin when I arrive. I took the fourty-something minute drive to their main office. When I got there I immediately took note of the chaotic atmosphere in the main office, and the pungent smell of popcorn filling the air. It seemed as if every employee and their mother was working a telephone. I fumbled around amongst the hoards of people looking for Justin, until finally he identified himself and said that unfortunately he was busy and had to defer me to Paul, another sales representitive. I sat with Paul and was asked which car I came to look at. I explained I was here for the S4 and Paul proceeds to give me a brief history lesson of his years as a salesman at A Better Way. "I've been here for four years now" he says, "And in my four years here only 3 cars have ever not been sold and gone back to the auction." Somehow I highly doubted it, but whatever, I thought. Let me just look at the car I came to see. They directed me to their secondary lot and told me to wait there while they fetch the car. I waited almost thirty minutes before the S4 came chugging into the lot. The salesman gets out and I immediately began to give the car a brief once over. It took me about thirty seconds to realize that I in no way buy this car from them, but since I had taken a drive down I figured what the xxxx let's just hear them out. First off let me say the pictures were very misleading, the vehicle had a cracked bumper with a missing fog light cover that the salesman Paul said "could be replaced for $200." The interior was shredded and beat, the digital dash display was fading in and out, the lift gate struts were rusted to bits and to boot, the power steering was non existent. Paul explained that all visual work could be done by them, but the fee would be on my own dime. (Surprise surprise..) Under the hood I immediately could tell the timing chain was on its way out (common problem for Audis) and the car was burning oil like there was no tomorrow. There also seemed to be a bit of a boost leak, evident by a hissing from the engine. Paul swore up and down that "it would all be tkaen care of if I purchase the car, including the power steering issues." (Like I haven't heard that one before). For those who know Audi, specifically the '00-02 S$s it is never "just an easy fix." I test drove the car for the heck of it, since I was already there. One thing I should add is that the S4 had drilled and slotted rotors, an aftermarket feature. To quiz Paul on the knowledge of the vehicle he was selling I asked if the vehicle was all original or if it had been modified. Paul quickly said it was all original and that NOTHING was changed... Right.. As we reentered the he asked if I was interested, that I would need to make a diposit on the car. He also said that the asking price is FIRM because they are "a Wholesale Auto dealer and everything is below market value by atleast 2,000 (which is a crock of you knw what because he was asking essentially market value of the car in superb condition. I left, but I enjoyed my 10 minute test drive. Bottom line, do not use these guys. I'm surprised to see so many people get burned by these guys. Selling a car in a bismal condition, asking full market value and holding firm to it. Tacking on extra money for fixes that should already be done and included in the final price. These guys are a bad joke, stay away. More
all they do is steal peoples money, they lie to get your deposit, all their cars are lemons, they took a deposit from me for a car that is not even drive-able and they have no title for most of the cars on deposit, all their cars are lemons, they took a deposit from me for a car that is not even drive-able and they have no title for most of the cars on their lot........ they are scammers. Don't even bother with the aggravation. I have a law suit against them right now because they refuse to give back my deposit, they swear and hang up on me, and my lawyer found out they don't own the car they were trying to sell me......beware. second time I had an issue with service, first time when i bought my truck. I was told they would repair the rip in my seat, they set up appointment, dropped the truck off and nothing was done for two day, i bought my truck. I was told they would repair the rip in my seat, they set up appointment, dropped the truck off and nothing was done for two day, they kept passing the buck on who's fault it was. they finally repaired it after a week of blame game. Now I have an issue with power lock on driver rear door, had truck a whole day to find out why wasn't working, never ordered the part, and never called to say what problem was. So told them i was coming to get it, got there and door was ripped apart, when i asked why wasn't put back together the woman that I told i was on my way done there, said because they didn't know i was coming to get it. So i set up appointment for the repair. Guess what? Called to check on it, they said door lock works fine, no problem, that's because they check the the front one and never order the part anyway, so the same women I originally talk to and who call the warranty people, didn't even remember it, and couldn't even be bother to look in the records for the info. Was told she would find out the issue and eta on time, two hours later nothing. So i called back and again nothing but incompetence. said I didn't give her enough time to see if part was ordered. Her supposed manager was no help. Worse service I have ever dealt with. More
I went to this dealer, ignoring the negative reviews because I found a car at a great price and I thought the bad stuff wouldn't happen to me. First of all, the main office is unorganized and chaotic. S because I found a car at a great price and I thought the bad stuff wouldn't happen to me. First of all, the main office is unorganized and chaotic. Some of the sales people were uncouth and unprofessional. My salesman, Brian, was rather personable, I'll give him that. I put a down payment on an audi a4 that had a turbo issue. (which is what they told me, and assured me that it would be replaced) They called me every couple of days to tell me it would be a few more days, and that they kept discovering more things wrong with the car, they were waiting on more parts, etc. When they finally called me two weeks later to tell me the car was ready, I drove down there only to discover the car had a flat tire, and there was still a problem with the torque converter, and/or possibly the transmission. I don't know a lot about cars, but I could tell they just tried to patch up the problems instead of fixing them. Clearly, their "safety check" wasn't very thorough. Not to mention, when filling out the application for financing, they told me the bank would only approve my loan if a $3200 warranty was added. Which is totally a scam and I should have walked right out the door then. When I said no, they still approved me a few days later without extended warranty. Even if you find a car in great condition at a great price, I do not suggest buying from here. Give your business to a more honest dealer. They have over 100 complaints on BBB for a reason. More
MEDIOCRE! MEDIOCRE! MEDIOCRE!!! EVERY BAD REVIEWS posted on here are accurate TO THE "T" with my experience with this "dealership"! The only good thing about this place is ALEX the salesman. Hands down a gr on here are accurate TO THE "T" with my experience with this "dealership"! The only good thing about this place is ALEX the salesman. Hands down a great person and unfortunately things didn't work out, but if it was just for him, this would have been my favorite place to go. I saw a 2004 Toyota Solara and called to make sure it was available. It was very well priced and from the looks on the pictures seemed very nice, so I of course wanted to jump on the deal. I called on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to check the car daily and it was surprisingly always available. i went to my bank, got approved for a small loan and called on Thursday night to give my credit card over the phone to get them to take the car off the lot for 1 day since I was going there early morning on friday to look at the car. The guy refused and hung up on me. I drove some 130 miles from Boston right after my overnight shift through the morning rush hour and was happy to see the car still available. Alex and I test drove the car although it had a lot of interior damage on the dashboard, the ceiling and a cracked windshield (which the pics didn't show), but I felt it was still a good deal. As we were leaving the separate lot where they kept the car, 2 guys from a black Infinity approached us attempting to sway us from buying the car. We were all jokes then went our separate ways as we proceeded to bring the car to the garage where it was to get repaired before we could take it home. Back in the dealership office to fill out the paperwork, everything went great. As Alex was filling out the paperwork, the 2 guys with the Infinity walked in, asked to speak to a specific salesman (whose name I can't remember) and disappeared. I paid my $1000 deposit, got my receipt, and left.. We made nothing of it and since my brother and I were hungry, we went to the Subway restaurant across the street, that's when Alex called us back saying the 2 guys we saw somehow mysteriously put their $1000 just seconds before we did therefore the car was theirs for us to come choose another car. I demanded to talk to Mike the manager who was of no help, and tried to hustle me into buying an older car with more mileage on it FOR MORE MONEY! The price he offered was just $1000 from the price of my original purchase, I asked him to at least match it, he rudely refused. I left very disappointed and quite upset after spending 4 hours, threatening to talk to a lawyer about it and kept my receipt, leaving them with my $1000. That same night, I called back and asked Mike if he's reconsidered my offer because I have spoken to a couple of lawyers who stated that I had a case against them but suggested that we worked it out instead of going to court, he claimed that I was threatening him and rudely hung up on me. NEEDLESS TO SAY the unprofessionalism, MEDIOCRITY, SCAM activities going on in that place. STAY AWAY, as a matter of fact, I'M LOOKING TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM. I STILL HAVE MY RECEIPTS AND PROOF OF PURCHASE, ANYONE INTERESTED, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT UNIVERSALLSTARS@YAHOO.COM More
