I bought a Rav4 from 5280 in April and was assured that it was in good working order. I saw that there was a slight bit of fluid leaking from the transfer case. The underside of the car had been detailed it was in good working order. I saw that there was a slight bit of fluid leaking from the transfer case. The underside of the car had been detailed and I was assured that the seep was normal for the age of the engine and that it would not be an issue. I was told that it would not be leaving puddles of fluid on my driveway. The warranty did not cover the leak because 5280’s mechanic did not classify it as a leak but a seep which we were not aware of. Upon request, 5280 would not release the notes from their mechanic, saying that it was not legal. I insisted on speaking to their 3rd party mechanic on the phone to ensure the seep was ok. He was less than polite and hardly remembered working on the car even though the dealer had it for less than two days. Less than 6 weeks later there was fluid all over my driveway. The shroud they had wiped clean had collected a bunch of fluid and the underside of the car was a mess. I had put minimal miles on the car and drove it gently. We were told to have it looked at by the warranty company’s mechanic who told us the leak was an obvious existing condition that the dealership should have taken care of before they sold the car for $16,000. He also found a faulty axle seal. When I talked to 5280 both the manager and owner said that they would take care of the axle seal that they had missed but only if I would sign a non-disclosure agreement which was promptly sent over. I declined, saying I didn’t see any sense in signing a legal document that bound me to silence for an issue that they admitted to missing in the first place. 5280 refused to address the transfer case or even split the cost with me saying the “seep” turned into a “leak” in the few weeks after I bought the car and that it wasn’t their responsibility. I was left with $2,000 of work and at the end of the conversation, the owner Rick told me that maybe I wouldn’t have had this problem if I wasn’t so lazy and would have examined the underside of the vehicle more thoroughly. Shop elsewhere where the sales are honest and reliable. More
I bought a 2012 CRV EXL with 110,000 miles. This was the best priced CRV in the area with this few miles. DONT DO IT I bought my vehicle here and was helped out by Ryan. I purchased a 2005 4runner with 187,000 miles on it. The price that I paid out the door was around $12,500. Not a bad price for such a nice looking 4runner considering they will last a lifetime! Well to the naked eye the car was almost perfect. Just a few minor dents and scratches, but looked really nice considering its a 14 yr old car. I was told that it would pass emissions and that everything was in great condition on the vehicle but that if it didn't pass, then to bring it back and they would fix it. When I drove the vehicle off the lot it was good except for one thing which was the back window wouldn't roll down. I figured it would be a minor fix and something that I could easily get taken care of considering I work at Toyota. Well I had three days to take it in for emissions, and the day after I drove it off the lot, all my check engine lights came on. I had Toyota take a look at it and turns out I had a bad catalytic converter and a HUGE front end oil leak. Toyota told me to take it in for emissions and that it wouldn't pass, and with it not passing, 5280 Motor Company would be responsible for fixing the damage. Well I took it for the emissions test and surprisingly enough it passed. Come to find out that the only reason it passed emissions was because 5280 motor company had cleared the diagnostic trouble codes, therefore leaving me 100% responsible for fixing all the things wrong with my 4runner I had just purchased from them. After Toyota having to work on my vehicle for 5 days to get it fixed, I ended up spending over $2000 just to fix all the problems with my vehicle. Keep in mind that I am an employee for Toyota, therefore I was given an extremely huge price discount on parts, labor and services. Although I spent $2000 to fix my 4runner, a normal customer would have paid well over $3500 dollars to fix the vehicle that I was told was in great condition. I have had my 4runner for about 3 weeks now, and there is not a day that goes by that my check engine light doesn't come on. This is a trouble car with many issues that I am having to personally fix and pay for. A 2005 4runner that's in great condition is well worth $12,000, but this vehicle wasn't in great condition. The drivers side catalytic converter needed replaced, the rear wiper motor was broken and needed replaced, the wheels needed aligned, balanced and rotated because my steering wheel shook at high speeds, the AC needed recharged, the front timing cover needed replaced, the front of the car had a huge oil leak, the oil and oil filter needed changed, the vehicle needed a power steering service, and it needed a cooling system service. These are all the services that I had to start getting looked at only 2 days after purchasing the vehicle. And in all these services cost me over $2000 out of pocket. To the naked eye, and face to face, this place will have you fooled. I would highly recommend NOT GOING HERE because you will get extremely xxxxed over once you leave their lot. Sneaky xxx car dealership. Watch your back here. And good luck to anyone in the future who gets sucked into this places xxxxxxxx! Reanna More

Not a bit of negativity here! I have nothing but good things to say about the fellas at 5280 Motorsports. I went there in search of a used SUV and left with more than what I had expected. Ryan was patient with me and gave me plenty of time to decide on what I wanted and allowed me to test drive multiple vehicles, after I figured out what I wanted he worked with me to get where I wanted with my overall monthly payment. I was more than stoked with my experience and would recommend 5280 Motorsports to anyone that is looking for a new vehicle More
BUYER BEWARE WITH 5280 Motor Company Longmont!!! Back in May I bought a used 2010 Honda CRV from 5280 Motor Company Longmont. After I signed the agreement to purchase, I downloaded the CarFax repor Back in May I bought a used 2010 Honda CRV from 5280 Motor Company Longmont. After I signed the agreement to purchase, I downloaded the CarFax report and found out that the vehicle had previously been in a collision. When I bought this to the attention of Ryan, my salesperson, he said, “Oh, did I forget to give you the CarFax report?” I saw in the report that the vehicle had been certified by a Honda dealership after the collision. I assumed that all would be well and proceeded with the purchase (my mistake). Subsequently, I noted that the rear bumper panels were popping out. I took the vehicle to Hoshi Motors, and they confirmed that there was collision damage that was not repaired correctly. I took the vehicle in to Fisher Honda body shop, and their collision center manager confirmed that this was the case, and the repairs would cost from $600 to $800. I reached out to Ryan to ask them to help me pay for the repairs. He refused. Drive 5280 did not violate any laws, but I do think that they were walking a narrow line between being ethical, and non-ethical: you be the judge. The bottom line is if you purchase a used vehicle from 5280 Motor Company Longmont: BUYER BEWARE!!! Make sure you get the CarFax and read them over carefully. Have your mechanic, or a good certified mechanic check the vehicle over, and take your time. The folks are the classical USED CAR SALESMEN, not your good buddies. I, personally, would not go back to them to purchase another vehicle. More
HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!!!! I was initially happy with the car buying process I thought they were pretty nice guys. BUT the nightmare started after own DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!!!! I was initially happy with the car buying process I thought they were pretty nice guys. BUT the nightmare started after owning this car for less than a week. After only owning this car for 3 DAYS I had all kinds of lights coming on including the check engine light and it wouldn't pass emissions. I took it to them to fix it and asked them to look at a noise it was making and when I went to come get it Rick was super sketchy and all the sudden Ryan wasn't available in person or through the phone and Rick had no idea what was going on with my car so after calling back multiple times to get an answer I just gave up. NOW I have a car that needs new differentials and a new transfer case. They didn't tell me this car the THE WORST after market alarm system on the car, which locks up the engine when you're messing with pretty much anything under the hood so I had to pay someone to remove that. They knew this car was a lemon and still tried to sell it to me and didn't try to make it right, these people SUCK! Definition of xxxxty car salesmen. More
